Seem like everybody blames Lamar for the loss, which is true, but the bulk of the blames goes to the Raven O-line. Have you seen how many times that Chris Jones blasted through the o-line?
didn't look to me like harbaugh had his offense ready to play. constant line of scrimmage flags over and over for the same player. appearing not to know what to do with henry. the half time interview excuse from harbaugh "it's a hostile environment" they were just in a title game doesn't get any more hostile than that

So much of this expectation falls on Lamar, but nowhere near as much pressure falls on the organization to create the environment conducive to that sort of passing growth. We're talking about a team that has treated the building of the passing game like the unwanted step-child for 25 years. That environment, that foundation, plays a huge role in that growth. Lamar can't just do it himself without the philosophy, scheme, line and WRs.
When Ravens signed Derrick Henry everyone was happy. They already had the number 1 rushing offense so why sign Henry? That money could have been used to sign a WR or an offensive lineman. It seems you guys want it both ways. All I heard this offseason was Henry, henry, henry. The Ravens rush for almost 200 yards and still lost. The reality is, you can't have it all unless your QB is on a rookie contract. Mahomes elevated his team last season with subpar Wide Receivers, I'm sure the MVP Lamar can do the same.

@@JAmCaM212 While there is a large portion of the fanbase that is addicted to this ‘Run the ball, lean on the defense’ identity we’ve pretty much had for 25 years, there are a lot more fans these days clamoring for more focus on the passing game. Yes, Mahomes is the best QB in the league. But he hasn’t necessarily elevated subpar WRs. He’s just made it work enough and then they get rid of them and try new ones. But a big part of that is also Andy Reid, who has a far more progressive mindset toward the passing game than we’ve seen in Baltimore for a quarter century.
O line was swiss cheese. Why would he hold on to the ball and wait for things to develop? C'mon bruh.

Lamar had 16 carries Henry only 13! This is simply stupid, and if you don’t think that Lamar getting hit/tackled 20 times in a game takes its toll considering the fact that he missed at least 4 throws on that final drive! You can’t win a Super Bowl with this recipe!

I dont know if there was no one open but one thing Lamar needs in his tool box is quick passes across the middle. Dont wait for big plays, just snap and throw. It makes the defense open up because they dont know what to expect, with all the other stuff. Instead three things happened last night, - one he held the ball waiting for a deep shot, two he threw outside to flowers behind the line when nothing else was available, three he ran.
He needs more quick throws for short yards. Mahomes used that and keeps the drive alive while frustrating the defense.

Being a Ravens fan bragging about 250+ passing yards when he averaged 1 air yard through most of the game 😂😂😂 kid, those yards aren't cuz of his arm, they lost cus of his arm, those yards are cuz of his play makers carrying him like every year. LJ is a great runner but with the game on the line relying on his arm, he's not that guy.

Offensive play calling was to predictable and not schemed to fit players. A good coach adapts his scheme to fit, not having the players attempt to adapt to fit. You are who we thought you were, so why are we gonna change you?
So, why sign a literal 🐂 if you don't utilize him. Lamar trying to dish out hits on 16 carries @ 205 lb's is a recipe for a short season not a SB. Give half those carries to Henry which sets up a balanced attack for misdirection bootlegs with Andrews / a pulling guard as a lead blocker for design runs or better yet PLAY-ACTION for easier reads which was pretty damn effective in the 1st half. Instead predictably was easy with the tendency to sub Hill in for spread & pass concepts, Henry only in run situations (and those run situations were completely abandoned in the 2nd half entirely to early). Lamar had 41 pass attempts and about 9 scrambles for 50 or so dropbacks but the marquee free agent signing looks as glorified as us sitting on the sidelines that second half with only 13 total touches... Coaching / lack of accountability + trust amongst teammates and quick to dissuade from the run seams to be the problem from my arm 🪑 2 years running with the Ravens ✌️ helluva game to watch though

@@q-j-p Lamar didn’t run on designed runs though, it was a lot of scrambles. Was hard to establish the run game with Henry, stacked boxes, lots of defenders in the box, but 100% degree play calling was predictable

I usually agree with Kurt but I think he’s ignoring WHY Lamar played the way he did, Chris Jones was feasting they rushed the offense up Lamar didn’t hesitate because he couldn’t afford to. You saw it with the playcalling aswell , soo many short screen calls getting rid of the ball. If it wasn’t the Chiefs on prime time, the team that beat us, I don’t think Lamar plays this way. He felt an urge to do whatever it took to win versus just playing correctly. Saw him lowering the shoulder unnecessarily as well

Did Kurt not see that the right side of the line immediately collapsed on every snap? Lamar couldn't get into his progressions, which is why he bailed and ran the ball so much.
Lets ignore the fact if Joe Burrow was behind that offensive line hed be out for a 3rd season. The majority of the plays lamar was running for his life. When you replace 3 o linemen with rookies and journey, your qb BETTER be mobile or youre out for the season like joe burrow or het wacked 70 times like joe borrow

Kurt Warner is a HOF qb. No one can ever take that away from him. But he has a bias against Lamar Jackson because he plays the position totally different than the way he did.
If he couldn’t see that the oline’s extremely poor play (particular in the first half) hampered Lamar’s ability to feel comfortable in the pocket, then his opinion is really not worth listening to. Also, when making observations about the Ravens from Thursday’s game, if Likely didn’t stand out to you, then again you probably shouldn’t be listened to.
As a Chiefs fan after last years Loss in the Playoffs they were saying he should have ran more in this game he did and had almost 400 yards now he's saying the opposite make up ur Mind!!
Gotta disagree with Kurt here, the reason Lamar ran so much was because he was getting pressure in his face almost every play he didn't trust his o line and when he did hang back for a bit when the O line was beat Chris Jones came up with a strip sack. I though Lamars runs kept the ravens in the game in the first half

Lamar doesn’t have the confidence in his receivers…or better yet…he’s not committed to his receivers (that’s on both Lamar and receivers). Where Patrick is so connected with not just his receivers but his entire offensive line and his offensive line in tune with patrick ( man, they adjust so well on the fly!!). You could see the head coach andy reed seriously held back plays (especially with that speedster Worthy!!! And Travis!!! That Raven playing saying if that’s all you got, good luck lol, dude! The Ravens have no deep threat WR. He has two good tight ends, and that's it. They do have Pat Ricard and Derrick Henry though, so they should play to their strengths though, and run run run the ball. They didn't stick with that last night, and they lost because of it.

I know. All you have to do is look at the penalty differential. Ravens got flagged 7 times and the Chiefs only got flagged 6 times. A blind man can see the refs favored the Chiefs. 1whole extra penalty called against the Ravens. It's outrageous.

Did those penalties cause Lamar to miss 2 open receivers in the end zone? Did those penalties cause Tucker to miss a field goal? Did those penalties cause Likely to not get both feet down in the end zone? Did those penalties cause Lamar to fumble? Those mistakes cost the Ravens their chance to win the game, not the referees.

There were definitely bad moments from the O-Line and a bit of ref ball, but I kind of felt the same thing that Kurt described in this video. Lamar hit some throws for sure, but he missed a lot of really good looks, including a really bad one on the second to last play of the game. That's always been a thing with him; he dances out there and either doesn't have the vision to see what he has in the passing game, or he sees it and doesn't execute the throws. He had a great game running the ball, but that's not enough to win against really good teams.
