As a Ravens fan, as bad as we played, the missed opportunities, the penalties, the blown coverages, essentially getting worse since last year while the Chiefs got better… we lose to the defending champs in Arrowhead by literally a toe placement on the very last play of the game… I’m not happy but I’m not in shambles.

as a chiefs fan. the ravens was almost unstoppable in the late 4th. it was getting scary how fast they were advancing the ball again the defense.

This is just my take on it, obviously, but I think Spags let Lamar run the ball.
Think about it. We were up two scores and the only reason it was close was because of that THROW to Likely that he took to the house against Bolton.
If Lamar would have ran for another eight yards on that play instead of throwing it the game wouldn't have been that close.
Also notice that we were loading the box earlier in the game against Lamar and Henry and then at the end were rushing 3/4 with a spy on Lamar, normally Chenal.
The philosophy seemed to turn to "bend don't break" right as soon as we got a two score lead. (Which is the same thing we did in the AFCCG.)
If you've beat a team all but one time with a pattern there may not be a reason to change the pattern.

The Ravens are a sloppy team. At this point it is a coaching issue, it doesn't feel like they've addressed any of the issues that caused them problems in the AFCC game.
This is why they should play preseason to see what the problems are instead of figuring them out against the best team

@@donovan4222 there were just a lot of unforced errors, the illegal formation penalties, the blown defensive coverage, Lamar looking frazzled in the pocket after the early fumble. They were very competitive and certainly had a sense of urgency about them. But they tend to try and do too much against the Chiefs instead of taking what’s being given to them.

The chemistry on this show is fantastic.
Pacheco held up, pushed back for 4-5 seconds, then Mahomes et. al. push him in for a TD. Any other team in the league would have been blown up. That said, Mahomes was super human and the Raven's O-line was pathetic beyond belief! The Chiefs were impressive in a close game.
There was clearly still movement in the pile and momentum hadn't stopped so that's why it was a TD. Stop crying,

how i look at it, LJ and the ravens have that same game against 95% of nfl teams, they win decisively. Lamar had a game where no QB ever had over 250 yards and 120 rush yards in the same game and they lose. chiefs had a B- game, mahomes played OK and they scored 27 points and had a drive to score 34 AND a bad drop right at the end zone by Juju. Im not one to go ranting about heavy opinions after one game but the chiefs look like they are going to be dangerous on offense. especially when Hollywood returns

Yeah this is likely the worst each team will perform all year barring any crazy injuries or sitting starters late in the season. I'm hoping for a rematch in the playoffs because I'd love to see them both as fully developed teams playing their best in the postseason.

But Mahomes getting passes to his RBs with a bit more touch... two huge plays with very hard balls for RBs to catch that can be cleaned up.

If they are allowed to control the clock and just run on you since their defense stops you, they win every time. Baltimore made more mistakes than the Chiefs, not as many as last season's AFC Championship game. IIRC a few defensive penalties and one missed field goal. Baltimore was unable to score as many TD's as the Chiefs too. San fran didn't score enough points to win the SB last season. In both cases the Chiefs Defense was better.

The Ravens abandoned their gameplan and told Lamar to go out there and win it. Lamar is amazing but the number of hits he took and the amount of rushes...I dont think thats sustainable. As a big Lamar stan, he deserves the heat for missing Likely in the end zone. I could see an excuse for the Flowers misconnection just not on the same page, but that Likely miss was terrible.
