To complement their performances at Carnegie Hall, select members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra led master classes on March 1, 2019. Participating young artists-alumni of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) and NYO2-had the opportunity to perform and work with these world-renowned musicians in a one-on-one setting in Carnegie Hall’s Resnick Education Wing. What a fantastic teacher, to bring so much out of an obviously super-talented student. The bass is such a great instrument!
Indeed! He started to play with so much more musicality.
That first instruction at the start of the video when the student was acting like Odon was wasting his time and Odon started playing that really got the student listening.
I would trade everything I possess currently for just one lesson with this guy!
I love how he says the kid's playing sounds like a "Harley-Davidson." A little harsh maybe, but the simile is apt, and gets the point across.
BTW -- I happen like the student's somewhat "covered" tone. Odon was asking for a bigger tone, but that can come at the expense of subtlety in expression.
thanks for post this!
Un grand pédagogue !
13:32 Auch!
Interpreter is so cute🤭
it sounds weird.
Its normally played in soloist tuning. But in this case, they play it in orceshtra tuning
Is he really using a German grip on a French bow?? How strange-why not just use a German bow?
I think because he didn't bring his own instrument and bow, and they provided him the bow, but probably the wrong bow type
its a german bow
@@Kapiwolf123 It's not.
Bruh that’s a French grip
He’s using a French grip on a French bow
