Playing some BF5 Pacific in my BFV American F4U corsair, looking forward to trying the Japanese Zeros too later on. Only in Battlefield 5

@@azrubs593 planes are the #1 reason I enjoy the Battlefield series.
That is why they buffed anti air because before they could not kill anything effectively. But my advice is to be careful when flying past objectives since that is were you find the most flack

On Iwo Jima as the Japanese I was 30-0 before I was shot down the first time. I got 25 kills on the first sector only because they controlled no AA on the island. As soon as they took the first and second sector I was shot down easily. The rest of the match I only got 12 more kills and 2 more deaths because of the insane range of the AA. I was forced to stay at the back of the island and couldn’t support my team. I suggest a rework of the AA guns to shorten the range of all of them but increase the damage. This will make the “no fly zones” smaller but much more lethal. Half of Iwo Jima is a no fly zone and all of pacific storm is a no fly zone. The range needs to be nerfed
If the Fliegerfaust was as effective in real life as in Battlefield 5, I would be speaking German in my day to day life (I'm French).

@@larch6509 In certain circumstances they did actually, they called it "Flying at tree tops". IRL the Fliegerfaust was very inaccurate, it would shoot more like a shotgun, the rockets would spread out a lot, and most times they wouldn't even all explode, that's why they didn't actually use it, it was very unreliable and just didn't do the job most of the time and on top of that it was heavy to carry around. So you had a weapon that was very cumbersome (big and heavy) and you weren't even sure it would even work and even when it did it didn't do a lot of damage.

They should buff Kamikazes too. If my plane is going full speed into the ground and lands feet from enemy soldiers, it should be the same as the 1000 kg bomb
Garrett Johnson not 1000kg. The only reason kamikazes were effective was because when the plane crashes, there is a bomb attached to it that creates the explosion. It’s not the plane
@@Skip.8221 you have to deploy it... so kamikaze is pointless unless you're definitely going down anyway bc of AA and you really want maximum mg strafe time before impact.

Yeah they buffed bombs but increased they deploy time for each bomb if you have a capacity of 4 or more making them pretty useless against moving armor but better against infantry making it great infy farm weapons.

So what i think is dice did this on purpose, in the fights between japan and america, japans technically always had better weapons and skilled fighters, but americans won with numbers and japan would end up making a mistake, they underestimated america at first
They could be possibly going for a realistic style but to be fair this is the first day of the pacific so we can wait and see, dice is usually responsive
DICE really nerfed the planes with that fliegerfaust and the AA buff
Becoming obvious they wanted infantry to have more opportunities to get business done on the ground, without having to constantly be bombed from the skies, with the launch of the pacific theater. Planes will get a lot more powerful with the specializations, but looks like their really trying to keep the spam bombing to a minimum right now which I have no problems with. I love flying planes, but I got no issue with having to concentrate on the dogfights and taking out AA & vehicles.

Actually, if they keep fighters in the current config, they can keep the fliegerfaust as it is. Trust me, once you unlock upgrades for planes, they become extremely strong.
Fliegerfaust can be dealt with proper approach angles and evasive maneuvers.
I think its fine that way. Just buff F4U anti plane capability because it sucks compared to zeros.

[M3RK ] IWATCHSWIFTOR same I love the dogfights. I’m not a good bomber pilot but I do plenty of strafing runs with my fighters. I’ve recently gone back to BF1 to fly the planes because they were so much better vs infantry

Fliegerfaust must be limited to teams like planes and tanks as it is as powerful as those vehicles...
Fliegerfaust is better to be a battlepickup like new katana and flamethrower. 2 or 3 of them around the map should be enough to resist the planes.

@@GuitarFabi I was the same opinion about new planes untill I got 6 lvl on both of them. With upgraded engine and handling they are the best fighters imo. Also I found the new 40-mm AA gun more annoying than Fliegerfaust on pacific maps cause its shots is reaching you on any altitude. But yeah, if there are more than 1-2 Fliegerfausts in enemy team (and especially if they all are camping) flying become impossible.

Nah is good balanced if you know when you have to return to safety. I use the 4 x 20 mm + explosive ammo on the zero and is great against infantry, I start shooting from a safe distance, trying to take out that aa Gunner is kind of easy actually.

Litterly not a single flying fuck in the community said that the airplanes were too weak, they were fucking overpowered and nothing could touch them. Now that aa guns are finally able to damage aircraft it's better but if they nerf the flieger we're still gon a get gaping ass raped by all the aircraft on the pacific maps because there are like 5 million spawns of aircraft within 30 minutes

It just gets annoying because I'll actually fly in formation with bombers and protect them, but they usually get blown up instantly. So the point of me being in the air is kind of ruined. After using the new planes I'm even more annoyed because they dont feel right.

Well by that point in the war it wouldn’t have mattered. The Zero, like every other Japanese plane, would’ve been woefully outclassed by F4U Corsairs, F6F Hellcats, and the P-51 Mustangs.

It annoys me how inaccurate the armament configuration is. The corsair had 6x.50 or 4x20mm cannons
1C model has 4 20mm AN/M2 cannons
1A has 6 12.7mm M2 Heavymachineguns
Check the upgrades for the plane and then come back

Fligerfaust & AA is the ruin of air 2 air dogfight.. F4u-1A corsair is a dive bomber variant while the F4u-1C is a fighter plane to support ground units

@@eazycakes2593 I would say that too, although historically they both had their own advantages, which gets thrown out in game for the pretty much same flight model on both aircraft.
The Corsair has a kill ratio of 11:1 and was the first Navy warplane to exceed 400 MPH in level flight. Named “Whistling Death” by the Japanese, the F4U's outstanding overall performance made it the finest carrier born fighter of the war. Operating from island airstrips, they shot down 1,400 enemy planes. Of that number, 1,100 were fighters and 300 bombers. Marine air losses were 141 Corsairs shot down.
so yeah in realistic terms corsair dominated the Zero. in game terms balance and realism do not mix

The Corsair was probably one of the best piston engine planes in WW2 let alone the pacific theatre. It totally outclassed the zero.

hey nic, i’ve been flying all day and i figured it out. get the 20mm High Explosive specialization in both the zero and the Corsair, and fire from long range. a 40mm might hit you once or twice but those cannons will do their job very well. went 40+ kills with only a few deaths multiple times
The 4x20mm HE is BEAST. I was getting 40-50 kills a game yesterday just spamming it objective areas
I used to love the bf planes. Bfv planes To Me. Seem sluggish. Granted I have not spent a huge amount of time in bfv planes

The planes in the pacific are just bad, the spitfire and bf109 are so much better in the game, the dogsfights in the other maps are so much more fun

It's a realistic detail. The airframe would flex during steep dives or when you stressed the plane. Just as plane wings flew today on commercial aircraft so they did with these.

The corsair was actually a late war design aircraft. Its gull wing design gave it high speed and maneuverability without having to sacrifice much toughness.
It excelled in attacking ground forces, so much so that the Japanese nicknamed it "whistling death".
Love what they have done with the aircrafts. It's now more skill based and the specializations looks like they have a higher impact. Hope they'll redo the specialization tree for other planes too.

normaly yes but i think they don't care about the historical stuff anymore. it's like the same with the zeros. you can equip 4x 20mm cannons at the a6m2 and 6x smg on the a6m5 what i never saw in any games or movies. the a6m5 standard weapons 4 smg? and you can't avoid to take the 4 smg or 4 cannons on the a6m2 to get other stuff wtf is that bullsh... ?
That's what they should have but it looks like the devs just didn't care to make them historical
1c was armed with 4x20mm cannons so it's probably the ground attack variant and the 1a which has 6x50 cal machineguns is probably the fighter variant.
Loving the bombers with the high explosive cannons, maxed the zero and working on the Corsair.
Just those AA rockets are keeping me for living my best plane whoring life 🤣

The Vought F4U Corsair was an amazing machine. Mainly flown by the US Marines, it earned a nickname "Angel of Okinawa" because of how helpful it was to allied forces in that battle. There was also rumours that Japanese pilots nicknamed it "Whistling Death", because the engine intakes made a whistling noise from how insanely fast it could fly. Its3 average kdr was 11-1..
I get why battlefield had to dumb it down to make it fair for the zero pilots, but it's got a amazing history.
I have been enjoying the Zero plane(the one more suited for killing infantry) and the HE 20mm cannons are so much fun plus I used the heavy bomb which was the 800 or something and then AT mines which I tried to place on the runways but it only partially worked but it has been a blast

@@KxngDxff Sure, its broken, but so is the infantry vs vehicle dynamic in BFV since the games inception. Vehicle players don`t complain when they rain down hell on infantry from the sky, game after game, for months uncontested. Now that the infantry can finally answer back, you hear the groans.
I am not saying the fliegerfaust is the answer to air vs ground balance, but as an infantry main who has been killed hundreds of times by unchecked pilots... I cant help but enjoy the delicious irony. Sorry, not sorry.

If you really think that, I would encourage you to jump in an AA and see what you can do. You surely aren`t innocuous in an AA, but to say that you can take out all pilots... thats just flat out not true. Skilled pilots will, (and have repeatedly) shat on me in a variety of differing anti aircraft roles consistently.
If you yourself are a pilot, you must know that neutralizing stationary AA`s is one of the first things a beginner pilot has to learn, as well as ultimately dealing with the mobile AA. So its simply a matter of ability on behalf of the pilot. Once you become skilled enough you can negate the fatal affects of having AA`s on the map... so what else is an infantryman supposed to do? Lay down with a line of LMG`s with incendiary rounds? Hope for a lucky Panzerfaust shot?
The way BF conquest dynamics used to work, is that you had three circles that all intersected like a Venn diagram. The circles represent infantry, armored ground vehicles, and air. The area in the middle that all three circles overlap is the healthy balance of engagement. This game has all three of the same circles, but there is zero overlap. Tanks, planes, and infantry, almost never interact in a healthy back and forth.
Tanks sit back and engage from range so infantry are basically fodder, lacking the ability to engage the tanks effectively when they are so withdrawn from the battlefield. Planes dive in, destroy infantry and armor without any concern at all for taking return fire, other than AA`s which they can out distance in range and firepower, then rinse and repeat.
How do you fix this? Unsure. DICE`s response: Give the infantry more tools to deal with the otherwise unending pestering of planes and their pilots in BFV. Personally, I dont care if the gadget is broken, its not my job to balance it. I am just enjoying irritating pilots, and getting my pint of blood before they nerf it into the ground in true DICE fashion.
Matter a fact, I think tonight ill organize a pilot kill squad with my boys and just sit around in conquest matches dishing out a little of what we have been forced to take for the last 11 months. Sorry fly boys, but thems the breaks. See you out on the BF.
@@pink7930 literally what game do you play? assault class was dabbing on every tank for first 5 or 6 months of this games life until heavy's got buffed and pzf got a much needed nerf. Now assault insta-kills every aircraft without even aiming if they come within 200m of a player.

10:00 When in a Corsair the best way to counter a zero on your tail is to go up quite a ways up, cut the throttle, pull into a dive, do three rolls to the right and then pull a hard right out of it works every time
Great grandfather flew this plane. Commanded Marine fighter squadron 323. He was a WW2 Ace Pilot and was credited with 6 confirmed kills on the Okinawa campaign. Then climbed the ranks to a three star general.

Thats because you dont know what youre doing and are a bad pilot so you go for the easy kill knowing its the best you can accomplish.
some naval battles would be very very nice.. IDK how it would be implemented.. but imagine the way that a naval battle would feel like in BF5..

Which plane is better? the Blue or White Corsair, The Green or White Zero...... I have a level 6 zero (green) and a level 6 corsair(blue) . but there are some planes that take me down with a few shots. i play in PS4 , but i don't understand why i am taken down so quickly , even when in the dog fight we have the same plane. CAN SOMEONE HELP?
The Zero could out-maneuver a Corsair in low altitude, slow speed dogfights, but that's it. The Corsair had the edge in every other condition, and was overall a far superior aircraft (which makes sense, as it was introduced two years after the Zero).
Zero could out-maneuver a Corsair at any altitude, it was like the only good thing the Zero had (well that and being cheap, which played into its end-war uh... tactics)
I want them at add a P-38 Lightning so bad. It's such a sick plane and it's what my great grandfather flew in world war 2.
A big misconception about the zero was that it can outmaneuver American planes. While that was true during the early stages when pitted against warhawks and wildcats, the corsair was a different story. The corsair was about evenly matched with the zero in speed, maneuverability, and weaponry, but the main advantage is that it had better armour. By the time the Hellcat was introduced, the zero became obsolete as a fighter and became a bomb instead.
Why does the F4U-1C's model in this game have six .50 caliber machine guns instead of its four protruding 20 mm auto cannons, just to note it is seen through the video shooting 20mm rounds yet its wings are modeled with six .50 calibers which I find really confusing
The only effective method for infantry to engage planes in this game is AA, which makes you a sitting duck. There are multiple planes that have skill tree's solely for taking out infantry, now infantry gets the fligerfaust. It inserted a balance that was very much needed.
The planes feel even slower and heavier than before I didn’t think that was possible
I use the white one for air to ground because it has the glide bomb and explosive cannons, and i use the blue one for air to air because of its fast firing low caliber guns.
Nic, use the left of the spec tree. The 4x 20mm plus the burst rounds is like having an A10. I went 68 and 2 on IWO and up to level 5 on the Corsair.

I think the people who level the pacific planes need to go ASAP for the x2 and x4 explosive 20mm autocannon secondary weapon in order to get a good splash on the soldiers bellow and at the same time extra damage on other planes
Nice gameplay! Try to use the 20 mm explosive against landing ships, I get around 2 - 4 kills per strafe, is pretty good against those pesky aa guners, but you have to shoot from a further distance. Don't you fell that the new planes feel heavier? Or is just my self?
Did u get any XP tracked? I;ve been completing the TOW nodes but my chapter XP still is 0. This when the map first launched.

The C-Hog had 4 x 20mm Cannons, hence the slower rate of fire, greater impact damage and smaller magazine capacity.
The results you got were slightly better than mine. I found it practically impossible to play due to the Fliegerfaust spam. Can't possibly get close to an objective.

I’m wandering if the zeroes have less armor realistically zeroes had much less armor than the corsairs. Especially near the base of the wings where the fuel tanks are located.
I’m trying to max the 1C out first because of the glide bomb, and because its easier to level up the other one. Might as well do the harder one first
I feel like the HE rounds are for damaging parts of the enemy to slow down their turning or elevation or speed
