One issue I have with all the military careers in MgT2e is how Leadership and Tactics* skills are pretty much restricted to commissioned officers. Senior Enlisted (Gunnery Sergeants, Chief Petty Officers) should probably get Leadership-2 as an automatic rank skill. Alternatively, the "Officer (Commissioned Only)" table could be opened up to ranks E5 and E6. For the Navy skill tables, the number of times that Flyer appears is odd when vehicles it would be useful for wouldn't be that commonly used in a Naval career. I would probably replace it with a different skill in the Advanced Education table. * The Marines are an exception for Tactics as enlisted ranks can get it through the Services and Ground Assault skill tables and potentially through events; for the Army, enlisted can only get it through Advanced Education table or events; for Navy, it's fair enough that enlisted ranks can only get it through events, but Tactics (Military) should (perhaps) be available in Crew/Line to reflect service as Ships Troops..
I never cared for the Navy career. Characters can usually only be useful while on a ship. Put them in a city or in the outback and they're useless. Besides I defy anyone to build a Captain Kirk using these rules.
