Did you not watch the anime? Ainz is just his old guild, he laments about his friends 24/7 and the only reason he has any of the power he wields is because of his previous friendships. This show is the power of friendship with a mentally disturbed weebo who cant move on from an old game like a loser nerd. He's the anime Holden Caufield and everyone else are posers.
@@brandonyoung5964 He's not mentally disturbed. In order to join Nazarick, the guild members needed to be healthy, productive members of society. The reason Ainz doesn't care about humans, is because the mechanics of the new world are forcing him to behave like his Yggdrasil avatar, which was specifically built to role play as an evil necromancer. Whenever he starts to feel emotions, his status as an undead forcefully suppresses them.
"Ainz is the bad guy for killing this poor girl" Even though the expedition of workers was orchestrated by Nazarick, those workers could have chosen to live right up until that moment. Ainz himself personally warned workers as Momon and heard that they were motivated by greed. Even after he laid treasures on the First Floor, literally outside the entrance of Nazarick. From what I know about the New World's economy, that money would literally set them up to create their own baronies if they just took and dipped before going further (yes, baronies. Plural. Each one would be THAT rich. I am an LN reader who finished the series multiple times.). They just decided to not stop. Nazarick is merely a dungeon to them but Ainz clearly sees it as his home. So when these guys come traipsing in and dishonoring the names of his friends, the only people he had an actual connection with, he simply loses and any sympathies he may have had for them prior.
The player clearly put greater focus on the game than irl. It’s no surprise he would be so incredibly vindictive to those who would plunder his home, where his heart resides.
Considering IRL in the Overlord universe is literally a dystopian future where the earth is all but polluted to death and ruled by tyrannical corporations, it's no surprise. It's why the "deep dive" part of the MMORPG was so popular. People could experiences worlds that weren't utterly horrible.
I have to wonder if you even watch the show. This was all planned -- Ainz had actively baited the adventurers into his tomb, for the sole purpose of wiping them out.
@@opo3628 it doesn't matter if he baited them. In the end they made the choice to take it. In his mind it is no different than if he did nothing because they did infact choose to invade.
@@torquevonthorne948 Yeah from what I recall had they only took the gold and left at the surface level he would have let them go. But they chose to get more greedy and go deeper into the tomb. Whatever they chose wouldn't have mattered for his end goal. He did want to use this as an excuse to create a situation with the Empire. Wiping them out wasn't the goal, it was just one of the acceptable results he had towards that goal.
There was actually a moment when he was dressed up as momon before he goes back to nazarick with the grave robbers when he said "unrealistic hope will only lead to despair" and looking back that line was aimed at the audience because of what was about to happen to them
Everyone else is worse than them, though. What does that say about humanity when inhuman monsters are less cruel and evil than the residents of the kingdom?
Ppl debating about “mercy” Let me just drop this-considering that human skin is a FARM ingredient for low lvl scrolls, they also happens to manufacture the highest quality redo healing magic
.... and Ainz don't know they use humans as materials there. The major plot of the story is that Ainz is struggling to make his servants actually tell him their plans because they think he's is a genius (while he isn't) and he knows all of it anyway.
The worst part of it? Those guys from the slain theocracy that Ainz brought to nazarick from when he saved gazeff are still alive and suffering. All that parchment is coming from a handful of people being flayed and healed over and over again.
@@furionmax7824 Not a "handful" of people, the Demiurge play at the capital when he was going by the name Jaldaboh netted Nazarick 10 000 albion sheep, before that he probably already had thousands in the happy farm.

If they never lied about getting permission to enter Nazarick, they might have all lived. Remember dialog options are a staple in RPGs. Your choices matter.
They never should've went in there... A new dungeon suddenly pops up and momon the greatest adventurer does his damnest to prevent them from going in. But in all honesty you can kind of blame ainz for not putting some kind of guard in front of the gate that would say something like *You are trespassing on the property of Lord Ainz Ool Gown, the Sorcerer King. Leave now or face the consequences* or something along those lines.
Furion Max true that, but considering he had left lots of gold and treasure at the entrance, they should have just taken that and be happy with it. But they let greed get the better of them and this is the end result.

He warned them before entering when he asked WHY they were doing it. Adventure would probably have saved them before they entered. They said money dissipate it being clear someone lived there . they fully understood they were robing someone who was clearly as rich as a king.
AINZ DID TRY TO LET THEM HAVE A CHESTS FULL OF LOOTS AT THE ENTRANCE. BUT GREEDY THIEVES BE THIRSTY. then they tried to lie about his friends. insulted him and tried to intimidate ainz, using momonga..lol
he wouldnt have let them leave, the other guys who tried leaving were killed and they didnt even enter the tomb. also his plan was to make them enter the tomb and also he was the one who made the request for workers to enter the tomb and the gold would have been taken by the lord so they had to go in to get paid.
JoyfulKiller - technically, the guys outside the tomb linked themselves to those inside when they said they wanted 10% of what those inside found in exchange for looking for another entrance.
Ok so let me get this story straight. Someone found the tomb of Nazarick. To appease the treasure seekers and to prevent entry, Ainz left a small amount of treasure for them to take. Small amount being what Ainz himself considers to be small. They took the treasure but they wanted more hence the reason why the raid party was assembled. Ainz didn't lure them in his plan to deter them from entering backfired . Is this correct?
I still don't get why people got mad about this scene. Ains NEVER showed interest in being the people's champion or hero. EVERYTHING he has done is for the sake of Nazarick gaining power and notoriety. If you thought he was going to be some great hero, you are delusional
correct me if i'am wrong, is Ainz aware of them being actual people (alive) and becoming more evil or yet he thinks that this is a game ultra realistic?
@KrapuulX many of his friends have evil avatars too so I guess most won't care if they too loose their humanity. and from what I heard Dimuges creator Ulbert I think already did't like Humans in his real life I guess the only one who would be really critic would be Touch-Me.
I love how it took this long for people to realize that Ainz is not a good guy‚ at least not anymore. At first he had moments of humanity still‚ but after living life as an undead surrounded by some of the most powerful beings in the world he is in now‚ of course his humanity would disappear and he would fit into the role of Ainz better as an almighty cold being.
I dont think he was ever _good_ or _evil_ . His motivations have always been from episode 1 for the benefit of Nazarick, the kingdom/dungeon he and his friends built together. He's not anymore _good_ or _evil_ than any other leader is of any other nation we have today. I think thats what the show runners try to portray atleast.
I think of him as more morally grey, an evil guy that will do what's best for the his home, but has a heart and understanding for honor and respect. Yes, he will be evil to you if you get in his way, but the way he goes after you will depend on what he thinks of you
To this day, the reassuring words of the team ending by those 3 seconds of facetime with their leader on the ground paralyzed and drooling on himself crack me up everytime I watch it XD

They were teleported here so for all they knew, this was outdoors. Hell, it makes more sense for it to be outdoors. How many tombs do you know that have a night sky?

What a lot of people forget is that these people are mercenaries who willingly put their lives on the line for coin and ransack old ruins in that process. Mercenaries such as these come in all shapes and sizes, but ultimately they came here to pillage his property, and though his way of doing it is certainly brutal and arguably evil, Ainz is trying to spare more people by making an example of those who wrong him. Even the capture of the city at the end of Overlord 3 is all about crafting appearances with Momo-san that AInz is not to be trifled with, all to the effect of trying to minimize resistance and ultimately minimize casualties. Ainz was dealt the hand of waking up in this world with a bloodthirsty army that he needs to keep satiated in order to keep them in line, and although his methods are brutal, they all align with his original goal of not only protecting himself but protecting the world from the bloodthirsty villain army he controls. Though he's struggled with it throughout the series, Ainz teaching that his army that he wishes to rule through fear AND respect while keeping up brutal appearances has allowed him to maintain the tight loyalty of the floor guardians and their units. Often times in other episodes we have seen Ainz' mercy and benevolence, such as with Sebas' arc. Unfortunately for these adventurer mercenaries, they are the sacrifical lambs whose horrible deaths were used as the stepping stone to protect countless others from attempting to challenge Nazerick and getting endless scores of soldiers and innocents killed in the attempt.
the best part about this is we only care about the workers because we got into their story and learned about them. If you only look at it from Ainz's point of view we would not have cared :P
When you realize that not even Aura wanted to get close to the hole those two got sent and you read in the wiki what actually happened to those two lovers, you realize the girl which was killed got the mercy indeed.

Other animes: Power of friendship is the most powerfull power of all!!!
Ainz: What if no
Did you not watch the anime? Ainz is just his old guild, he laments about his friends 24/7 and the only reason he has any of the power he wields is because of his previous friendships.
This show is the power of friendship with a mentally disturbed weebo who cant move on from an old game like a loser nerd. He's the anime Holden Caufield and everyone else are posers.
@@brandonyoung5964 Have you not see the LNs? He accepted that his guildmates won't be coming back and only has their creations with him.
Ainz friendship is stronger
Sailor Moon: "The Power of Friendship and Love will..."
Ainz: "...Die along with you and your Friends."
"Ainz is the bad guy for killing this poor girl"
Even though the expedition of workers was orchestrated by Nazarick, those workers could have chosen to live right up until that moment.
@@opo3628 The purpose wasn't to wipe them out; he and Demyurgos want to create a diplomatic incident with the Empire.
There was actually a moment when he was dressed up as momon before he goes back to nazarick with the grave robbers when he said "unrealistic hope will only lead to despair" and looking back that line was aimed at the audience because of what was about to happen to them
During the whole thing, Ainz must have been laughing internally.
Ainz at that moment: “Hehehe, these guys really are like LN protagnists, would be a shame if i were to, end their rp...”
So happy they got mercy :')
Hahaha, they didn't die
Zeronin Good joke.

Ppl debating about “mercy”
Let me just drop this-considering that human skin is a FARM ingredient for low lvl scrolls, they also happens to manufacture the highest quality redo healing magic
.... and Ainz don't know they use humans as materials there.

Yes Ainz is right, seriously you don't want to be captured alive to be tortured forever in Nazarick, you'd wish to be killed instead.
The horror of torture in Nazarick is on Another level 🤧😥
Agreed, he’s not a hero or villain nonsense. He’s neutral.
I always loved that sentence, imagine being so powerful that you don't think about defeat, just how good or bad of a fate you give your opponents.
The boss music they started hearing:
“Lives, all mortal lives expire
Souls go to their dooms
In flame forevermore”
Ainz:you wont die

Ainz:😏
"We will defeat Ainz" - famous last words.
If they never lied about getting permission to enter Nazarick, they might have all lived. Remember dialog options are a staple in RPGs. Your choices matter.
Imagine breaking into a place and expecting mercy. Why do you deserve mercy? Face your judgement with dignity.
I’ve watch this so many times over the years and I still love it
Oh so merciful, what a kind heart Ainz sama has
The ominous red glowing orb-ish one
They never should've went in there... A new dungeon suddenly pops up and momon the greatest adventurer does his damnest to prevent them from going in. But in all honesty you can kind of blame ainz for not putting some kind of guard in front of the gate that would say something like
*You are trespassing on the property of Lord Ainz Ool Gown, the Sorcerer King. Leave now or face the consequences* or something along those lines.
Furion Max true that, but considering he had left lots of gold and treasure at the entrance, they should have just taken that and be happy with it. But they let greed get the better of them and this is the end result.
@@Michealxlr that was a mistake on his part too. Bc he's a litch, he's forgotten how greedy human beings can be.

@@obits3 Yep. It's also worth noting that the Green Leaf team explicitly states that they will enter the tomb. They're not leaving for good.
@@furionmax7824 No, incorrect.
Nobody 'found' Nazarick, the information was deliberately leaked. It was a false flag from the get-go.
I still don't get why people got mad about this scene. Ains NEVER showed interest in being the people's champion or hero. EVERYTHING he has done is for the sake of Nazarick gaining power and notoriety.
If you thought he was going to be some great hero, you are delusional
@KrapuulX isn't it explained simply by the fact that his "undead" status makes him not feel anything towards human death?
correct me if i'am wrong, is Ainz aware of them being actual people (alive) and becoming more evil or yet he thinks that this is a game ultra realistic?
@KrapuulX i agree, this show makes no sense
@@adreck332 nope, he acknowledges that these are real people and also that he's losing his human emotions. He just doesn't care.
@KrapuulX many of his friends have evil avatars too

They put Texans to shame with the level of seriousness in protecting your home from intruders in Nazerick haha
The first time Ainz cast Create Death Knight, a variant of a evil-aligned create greater undead spell, I knew he was the bad guy.
I think of him as more morally grey, an evil guy that will do what's best for the his home, but has a heart and understanding for honor and respect. Yes, he will be evil to you if you get in his way, but the way he goes after you will depend on what he thinks of you
To this day, the reassuring words of the team
ending by those 3 seconds of facetime with their leader on the ground

When you completed all the side stories and main quest line in Skyrim and run out of things to do...
Considerating the fate of all humans in Nazarick indeed was a quick death.
