@@Kanal7Indonesia interesting Fact that the ghosts on the Goth lot are programmed to never come inside and it encourages you to not leave the house at night. @@kieranwillis395 Make sure you install mods first before deleting tombstones, mostly bc Sims 2 has faulty programming for when you delete them. The sims data still exists basically and in simple terms, scatters across the game, latching onto bits and corrupting it. I usually think of her as an unlucky lady followed by death, people around her die a lot and eventually she got in good with Grim and eventually had a child with him
She probably drowned all of the sims in her graveyard, considering the ghosts leave a trail of puddles, and then filled in the pool to erase the traces, which could explain the big concrete block on the center of the house
I remember in my 1st playthrough I saw the memory of woohoo with the grim reaper and I didn't know it wasn't possible to do in-game, so I tried to have sims killed, quickly make Olivia lay in the bed and try to invite the grim reaper to join in but, of course, it never worked.. Unknowingly I was perpetuating the serial killer vibe to get a chance with the grim reaper xD
It's more than speculation that Nervous Subject is The Grim Reaper's son. If you look in the family tree and click his icon you can see that Grim is in fact his father.
I love the stories of earlier sims games, because i feel like they let themselves go much darker, and that paired up with uncanny valley graphics is just charming
I could've sworn that people discovered that the Grim Reaper really was Nervous' dad through SimsPE back in the day. But it was done from the developers end, not in game, which is why her memories don't reflect it. I could be remembering wrong, but I think it's more than speculation? But, Olive took horrible care of him, so the social worker took him away. The Beakers seized the opportunity and adopted him, so they could really be put the evil in "Evil Scientists". Poor Nervous. He's got the most tragic backstory in all of Sims lore. In Sims 2, I would always move him out and try to give him a happy life, complete with building up his athletic skill so he could occasionally kick the crap out of Loki and Cerse. 😂 Then when I saw them in Midnight Hollow, I was all "Hell yeah, let's give this kid a do-over." Well, until I gave up because I couldn't see anything 😂

It's weird to be honest. We were both shocked, thanks for the great videos!
It could be that woohooing with the Grim Reaper made it so death just kind of exists or gravitates around her. Maybe she just kind of exists in the plane between life and death.
What if Olive isn't the one who killed them, but the Grim Reaper did. Let's say the Grim Reaper is in love with Olive, but he can only see her when someone dies.
I think Olive Specter just went insane after giving birth to Nervous Subject and losing him to the Beaker family which explains why she's so obsessed with death! :O
Lol idk maybe she was developing a taste for blood around that time but when Nervous Subject got taken from her she finally let loose and embraced her savage nature? hahaha

The first time I played with this family I didn't know you weren't supposed to save while there were active ghosts on the lot (it causes corruption). So I was micro-managing Strangetown and I came back to the Specter family right after Olive died, only to find Ophelia had the interaction 'Expire'. So she also died, but the rest of the town didn't have memory of her death. The corruption somehow spread to General Buzz, because the game kept saying there were errors with his file. After I exited, I found that I wasn't able to go back into the family. Ripp had moved out at that point, and I had plans to use the gravestone cheat to rescue Buck, but I decided to reset the town because I figured the corruption would get worse.
The great thing about your videos they are deep in the sense that you explore a lot of information, add your own interpretations and not only pull info out of sims wiki so I can finally learn something new from sims lore videos. Lovely 💜💜💜. Sims 2 is so good, when playing it I felt i actually was a part of their world, i love pre made families and their stories they add more realism and coziness into the game. Like you really bond with characters on a personal level. I miss these features in sims 4. Sims 3 had a lot of conflicting lore but still had that sense of realism of the whole sims world, timelines, generations, each family has its own personality. Sims 4 feels static, just a bunch of props chsracters feel like cardboard statues. Even though graphics are good and expressions world doest seem alive doesnt have a history just a randomized scenery. Maxis said a lot about not focusing on pre made families, as they are boring to players who want to create their own stories, but it seems to be proven wrong according to the everpresent nostalgia in sims communuties, emergence of tendency to speculate on lore of sims. Seems like we lost something that we never paid attention to and now stick to the bits and pieces from 10 yo games. Love your videos btw
Thank you so much for your comment and support! I started playing the Sims 1 when I was 8 so for me, the lore is everything. I feel like the Sims 4 is good as a separate game to the Sims series. It's understandable that they wanted players to make their own stories but I feel like they could have included some premade families and more lore as well as let the player make their own decisions. Sims 2 is definitely the one I keep coming back to! 😊
Interesting video! Keep up the great work! I’m not exactly sure what Olive Specter did but she might’ve been helping the grim reaper to see him due to her being lonely after her sad past of losing her kid Nervous subject and one of her husband’s leaving her!
been replaying sims 2 for the past month or so for the first time since i was 12 and forgot how interesting maxis used to make their towns. so much lore & conflict! i just found your channel and i’m really enjoying all your sims 2 videos😁
i never thought how in depth the stories went on the sims 2, the sims 3 and 4 are really lacking the creativity. the sims 2 is still the best one by far
John Montaintt The way I see it is that for Sims 3 and 4 they wanted to encourage people to make their own Sims instead of focusing so much on premade Sims and stories. That way, the player has more agency. While lore is fun, it can prevent people from really exploring the possibilities with their own made up gameplay.
4:33 So, there's another Olive and another Nervous Subject living in Midnight Hollow that doesn't have anything to do with this family, and that oficial statement of that Olive in the sims 3 website claiming that the grim reaper killed all the sims that lies in her graveyard (her husbands at that timeline) doesn't count because the family name ends with an "O" instead of an "E"?
The Sims 2 PSP flat out goes with killing husbands but she blacked out and was being mind controlled by the mad scientist villain. Not sure if that applies here.
I love the theories about the Specter family. And these pun names xD I mean they are tragic... but morbidly hilarious. These videos make me want to get Sims 2 and play it again :D
If Olive is not a killer, she is possibly cursed. It has been a while, though is that possible for The Sims 2, without mods? I like how in Sims 3 she is trying to raise a baby while the ghosts of her exes are still around, haunting her. Definitely a character designed for lots of different, interesting stories. #Sims
According to Olive's family bio when she reappears in Sims 3, she's not a serial killer, just had terrible luck with her lovers passing away. She went to confront the Grim Reaper about all the deaths surrounding her life, only for the two of them to fall for each other. The bio goes on to say that the relationship ended quickly, but Grim left Olive "something to remember him by," all but confirming that he is Nervous' father.
I remember once playing this household and her niece Ophelia went to work, and I got a chance card but clicked on an option that got her fired. Then, when Ophelia returned after being fired, she died on the spot.
On Sims 2 Specter household currently: Looking through Olive Specter’s memories her first ones are the basic toddler skills taught by her mother Lerato. Growing up well to a child. Met a mystery sim. Willow (her sister) grew up well. Grew up well to a teen. Danielle Greaves died (seems she’s dressed as a pizza delivery person) Grew up well to an adult. Thereafter she started marrying and her husbands died after the other and had Nervous who was taken away by social services. Having watched loads of sims 2 lore and true crime docs; I go with the common theory Olive is a serial killer. But think she either started killing as a teen or Danielle’s death was an accident and met the grim reaper and became infatuated.. then killed for the sake of seeing Grim. Is Olives first victim (supposedly) an accidental death she witnessed? Or did she kill her intentionally? It’s hard to tell whether Danielle’s grave in Olive’s garden is a sentiment to her first kill or how she met her first love…
I came back to this video in celebration of the Specter family returning in the Sims 4 Life and Death EP! Since The Sims 4 has its own separate timeline, Nervous Subject was never taken away from Olive and never met the Beakers. He now goes by his "real" name before he was taken away, even though he was still called Nervous Subject in The Sims 3. His last name is obviously Specter, but I won't spoil his first name for Ms Lore.
3:30, witches can murder sims by casting inflammo and forcing vampires to go outside with appello simae, they can also use appello simae to trap someone in a locked room with a cow plant. If I have an evil witch I have them do this, and then constantly resurrect their victim as a zombie so they can get the life prolonging properties
You know what would be cool?? To move Olive into the Baba Yaga's house (it's a reference only for those who don't know) on that neighbourhood and play her as a witch who murders people for fun and eats them(like the bbq baby mod?? Yeah… that one!!), dressing her up as the ladies who give you the personality change/love potions when you start a household And play horrible horror stories with her, or even some revenge ones, like the game cooking companions(best game ever, highly recommend Manlybadasshero gameplays, it's really interesting!), Or whatever story you like!! It would be so fun to have her walking around the lots on that clothing and a very creepy old lady appeareance, like some kind of nightmare fuel townie(in case you don't wanna play all the horror aspects, just leaving her in the house just so she appears on community lots as that unnerving character would be soooo fun)
I’m actually recreating the strangetown lore in my game of TS3 And here, Olive can have a son with the grim reaper More because she was an adult when whoohoed with him
Serial killer makes sense because time travel is not implemented in gameplay, but is possible, just like murder. You can correct me if I’m wrong about this since I have only played the sims 4 myself.

That she's been harvesting souls for a reaper...however this reaper went rouge and is not answering to the current embodiment of death(in the super natual universe there are many reapers answering to one boss who is a super reaper) and not following protocol. The spector lot ghosts are all very angry and will come in the house and cause chaos. The official strategy actually suggests you delete the tombs!
@@kieranwillis395 Make sure you install mods first before deleting tombstones, mostly bc Sims 2 has faulty programming for when you delete them. The sims data still exists basically and in simple terms, scatters across the game, latching onto bits and corrupting it. Same goes for deleting Sims from the family bins or smashing/throwing out urns!
What happens if you put them into Olive's inventory and let her die from natural causes one day into gameplay?
@@sleekoduck It'll have the same result as any urns are deleted in a dead sim's inventory.
In Sims 3, Spector with an O is in Lunar Lakes, I think. Olive Specter and her toddler son, Nervous Subject, live in Midnight Hollow.
I hate the Beakers 😳 I always make Nervous leave or run away or pair him with Pascal which is pretty popular I've come to realise hahaha. Oh my God that's so true about midnight hollow... I barely played there just because I couldn't see anything 😅
What do you mean by not see anything?
WrittenRebel ;P Midnight Hollow lighting in the Sims 3 is dark af lol
@@micahcook2408 ah. Mkay. I'm guessing turning the brightness on the screen didn't help...
I have sensitive eyes to light so the lighting in Midnight Hollows never bothered me, didn't think it was that dark.
Nice to know, thank you for explaining! :)
My mum had all the packs bought for the sims 2, so the sims obsession started with her and followed with me.
I got all memories back, for times i didnt even remmember this old lady exsisted.
I didnt really go there to play, I mean to Strangetown, i had better things to do in the sims but my mum clearly remembers it and she said she always found it weird and never really showed me since I was young.
I told her whose are thos people burried in the lady's backyard and she was shocked. She never thought the old lady had anything to do with it, my mum thought she just lived next to the graveyard.
It's weird to be honest. We were both shocked, thanks for the great videos!
It could be that woohooing with the Grim Reaper made it so death just kind of exists or gravitates around her. Maybe she just kind of exists in the plane between life and death.
I was an innocent kid, so I simply thought that she had a misfortune of having random Sims dying on her yard XD
What if Olive isn't the one who killed them, but the Grim Reaper did. Let's say the Grim Reaper is in love with Olive, but he can only see her when someone dies.
Bro…
@@belughlegosi You might want to elaborate on that comment. :-)
I think Olive Specter just went insane after giving birth to Nervous Subject and losing him to the Beaker family which explains why she's so obsessed with death! :O
What about her husbands before she had Nervous? :S
Lol idk maybe she was developing a taste for blood around that time but when Nervous Subject got taken from her she finally let loose and embraced her savage nature? hahaha
@@Yungtacosss hahaha that's a really good theory, she definitely embraced her ways after she had Nervous Subject! 😨
These videos make me super sad that the sims 2 isn't sold in stores anymore. I had the game and all the expansion packs as a kid, but i think my mum threw the disks out when i moved out.
You can still find previously owned copies that people are selling! Try eBay!
@@TheSimsLore Ebay doesnt exist where I live, and I've never seen it on trade me.
@@aviendha1154 I bought the copies for the giveaway winner on eBay at gb_safe101. They *might* be able to ship it to your country?
@@TheSimsLore I'm not paying for shipping to NZ for a almost 20 year old game. Also Ebay requires an American address to have an account and doesn't ship here. I'll have to fulfill my sims 2 cravings by watching fun videos like these. :)
If you’re on a Mac computer you can download the game with most of the expansion packs from the App store! I know it’s a longshot, but I figured you might want to know ☺️
The first time I played with this family I didn't know you weren't supposed to save while there were active ghosts on the lot (it causes corruption).
Don’t overlook the fact that there’s grass only growing above all the graves, super creepy bc there’s no other grass in the desert
My aunt did play the Sims 2, because my aunt's character was friends with Olive Spector to stay on the Olive's good side.
I just found out that Olive's parents' surname "Muenda" is Swahili for "You go", 'go' possibly meaning 'die' in this context.
Interesting video! Keep up the great work!
I’m not exactly sure what Olive Specter did but she might’ve been helping the grim reaper to see him due to her being lonely after her sad past of losing her kid Nervous subject and one of her husband’s leaving her!
Interesting theory!
I like that on TV Tropes, Olive is listed under the trope "Oh grandma, what great hotness you have"
been replaying sims 2 for the past month or so for the first time since i was 12 and forgot how interesting maxis used to make their towns. so much lore & conflict! i just found your channel and i’m really enjoying all your sims 2 videos😁
Ophelia dies of drowning in the legend and this Ophelia is afraid of water....
i never thought how in depth the stories went on the sims 2, the sims 3 and 4 are really lacking the creativity. the sims 2 is still the best one by far
Sims 3 also has a lot of lore I don’t think you even played the game that much...
@@idk_who2320 yeah that's true
@@justsomedude_3308 Yeah like Riverview
Ugh. I miss the sims having so much backstory and connections.
This channel is fucking awesome, don’t ever give up on it, you’ll blow up soon.
What if she murdered all those people just to see the grim reaper?
The Sims 2 PSP flat out goes with killing husbands but she blacked out and was being mind controlled by the mad scientist villain. Not sure if that applies here.
The way they used to developed sim games was so well put together. Now they’re complacent with the money they’re getting.
#Sims
I can't with all these name puns😂😂
I love this channel its ALL about sim lore it doesn’t try to detour into gaming
On Sims 2 Specter household currently:
Looking through Olive Specter’s memories her first ones are the basic toddler skills taught by her mother Lerato.
Growing up well to a child.
Met a mystery sim.
Willow (her sister) grew up well.
Grew up well to a teen.
Danielle Greaves died (seems she’s dressed as a pizza delivery person)
Grew up well to an adult.
The Sims 2 is so mysterious
I came back to this video in celebration of the Specter family returning in the Sims 4 Life and Death EP! Since The Sims 4 has its own separate timeline, Nervous Subject was never taken away from Olive and never met the Beakers. He now goes by his "real" name before he was taken away, even though he was still called Nervous Subject in The Sims 3. His last name is obviously Specter, but I won't spoil his first name for Ms Lore.
wait notice how the ground in the graveyard has grass while everywhere around it doesn't?
Does that mean she just dumped their bodies underground?
3:30, witches can murder sims by casting inflammo and forcing vampires to go outside with appello simae, they can also use appello simae to trap someone in a locked room with a cow plant. If I have an evil witch I have them do this, and then constantly resurrect their victim as a zombie so they can get the life prolonging properties
The Sims 2 is the best Sims game!!!
I think they might have been gifts from the Grim Reaper, like flowers.
"The Sims 2"
"lore"
aight I'm getting the tea 🐸☕
I remember this being one of my favorite families to play and I was clueless. Haha
Lore was so wasted on me as a child. 😅
i think the grim reaper killed them so no one would have her. or she killed them so she can see him she is in love with him.
You know what would be cool??
To move Olive into the Baba Yaga's house (it's a reference only for those who don't know) on that neighbourhood and play her as a witch who murders people for fun and eats them(like the bbq baby mod?? Yeah… that one!!), dressing her up as the ladies who give you the personality change/love potions when you start a household
And play horrible horror stories with her, or even some revenge ones, like the game cooking companions(best game ever, highly recommend Manlybadasshero gameplays, it's really interesting!), Or whatever story you like!!
It would be so fun to have her walking around the lots on that clothing and a very creepy old lady appeareance, like some kind of nightmare fuel townie(in case you don't wanna play all the horror aspects, just leaving her in the house just so she appears on community lots as that unnerving character would be soooo fun)
I think the first death was a accedant and then she saw the grimreaper and fell in love.
Then she killed many other sims to see him again
I’m actually recreating the strangetown lore in my game of TS3
And here, Olive can have a son with the grim reaper
More because she was an adult when whoohoed with him
Maybe Olive was the original Sims black widow.
I'm actually laying in bed eating popcorn watching this video. how weird
Juno Birch must watch this!
do a lore on the ultimate serial killer, the spouse of the grim reaper himself, LORD JIM PICKENS
I always get the "Wife who killed their beloved for insurance money" vibes from her lmao...
This level of storytelling made The Sims 2 the best game in the franchise.
I think the fact Olive is my fav says a lot abt me 😭
Not sure if it's an easter egg or not, but there is a board game called 13 Dead End Drive, could be a reference to her address.
I have just watched Fake Gamer Girls video about the Specter Family and now UA-cam recomended me this video
What a coincidence
I had no idea there was so much backstory in Sims 2.
olive garden is based on greek lore its not just a restaurant
Serial killer makes sense because time travel is not implemented in gameplay, but is possible, just like murder. You can correct me if I’m wrong about this since I have only played the sims 4 myself.
I really need to find my sims 2 game omg
It’s actually been found that Grim is Nervous’ father through SimPE
olive also murdered her victims data
I think the Olive garden is a biblical refrence.
this whole time i thought she was made by juno birch oh my goD
It says in Nervous Test Subject's bio that he wants the chance to be a parent "again".
Does /did he have a kid??
ennoidyam Where did you find test nervous subject? SimPE? I’ve never seen that bio before.
omg I thought the title of this video said "strangletown" and i-
God I miss playing Sims 2
also coincidentally has the same name as phil spector
I think she killed all these people to summon her one and only true love Grim Reaper
Beaker's next?
Like something out of supernatual the show...in fact sam and dean hunting her down would make a good episode..they hear about a bunch of travlers just up and dieing at the same time out of nowhere one day.. they track the storys to the specter home..see that this women has a backyard full of graves...then threw out the episode slowly learn. That she's been harvesting souls for a reaper...however this reaper went rouge and is not answering to the current embodiment of death(in the super natual universe there are many reapers answering to one boss who is a super reaper) and not following protocol. But since reapers that are not death prime, can not physically interfere with the lives fates and deaths of humans,he made a deal with olive. She gives him souls. They get together. Then you have the potental for the reaper eqivlent to a nephileim thrown in there.
This woman killed her husband in the sims 3 midnight hollow
I feel shes under the wicken umbrella,I just get that feeling idk much about wicken though
What if she killed all of them to keep seeing the Grim Reaper.
You've missed the fact that Olive Specter is in Midnight Hollow with Nervous Subject as a baby.
They're at the end @4:31 😛
Can you do a sims lore on sims 3 pets for console? It has its own set of mysteries that are completely unique
Sim can technically kill other by using Cowplant. They would have "Drink" want.
