Currently obsessed with your videos and it made me think. If sims 5 is going to happen IT BETTER have the backstories, DRAMA and mystery that sims 2 had. And open world like sims 3. Ya kno, they better step it UP👀
I used to play with these. Resurrected them and played them as a noble and wealthy family. The teen girl ( I play in Swedish so I know her as Gabriella) got to collage but now my computer is acting strange so I do not dare play sims and unfortuneatly can not get further into the storyline.
Oh no! Sorry your computer is acting up! Hey maybe the Tricou family is haunting your pc! Hah (Just kidding) 😛 hope you get to play with them again, they're great fun!
That was an interesting video! I love TS2 and its secrets :D I have a piece of advice though: try to lower the background music's sound. I had trouble hearing what you were saying sometimes because of it. Anyway, good job, I like your vids!
I wish it was talked about in this video that Rainelle (who moved into the house after) had an affair with Kiernen(Nyllisit's husband) and she caught him cheating... shortly after the Tricou's died and then Rainelle died in the house from fright (I presume it's because of being haunted by Kiernen's daughter) or the both of the teens that were there as ghosts. Also, most of the Tricous really don't like Kiernen, Gauvdoin doesn't like her grandma and I believe doesn't really like her aunt either. Nyllisit and her husband aren't close, her and her sister and her mother aren't close either. She also grew up badly all throughout her life and same with her daughter, even though she was taught all her skills and was taught to study..Quite a few of them also had turn ons for vampires... It's a very mysterious family that I wish would have been dived into more! As well as I wish EA had written bios for them to explain further what happened but I guess they leave the players to sort of make that story up for them.
One time I played at resurrecting the Tricou family. John Smith resurrected the two teens first, then one of them resurrected Kiernan. Kiernan in turn resurrected Jennicor. Now normally, sims that are resurrected well are very happy about being brought back and will get a rather high friendship with that sim. Jennicor took that one step further by almost immediately falling in love with Kiernan! I had not expected that. The feeling turned out to be mutual so I wound up moving them in together. Guess marriage in the sims really is 'till death do you part!
The sims 4 will never come close to the brilliance of downtown, the sims team litterally made like 30 community lots and even made a backstory, what does magnolia promenade have? 4 lots and nothing else
I'm so glad I found this channel, it kind of gave me the little push I needed to reinstall TS3 & TS2, I only had TS4 (building simulator imo) & TS1, but now it's all about the good gameplay games. I missed the stories those games had to offer, no matter how you played the games.
After watching this video I was really intrigued by this family and they have become my favorite! So I did lots of digging around the internet and in my own game, and have come up with a few theories. Well, they're more like personal beliefs lmao but it's fascinating enough that I want to share! Long post warning: The first of which being that I don't think all six of the members who died from starvation actually did die from starvation. It's possible that at least some of them did, but I've been starting to think it might not have been all of them because of the moving tombstones glitch that seems to happen when a tombstone is sent to the cemetery. In fact, there's a good deal of evidence the glitch happened to Jon Smith from this same family. His ghost is labeled as a starvation ghost, but some of the family members received an inheritance from him, which is only possible when a Sim dies of old age. I'm not really sure how the others would have gone, but nobody who is buried at the house was said to have died of starvation, so it makes me wonder! The other reason I question though is because no one really has consistent memories of the deaths. I noticed that they all seem to display a different order, which... would be strange for something like starvation when you consider that this family owned an 85,000 Simoleon mansion and probably was not poor. To me, it would seem that family members dying from the same thing would have been a mass event, but the memories aren't really in support of that since the children (who didn't die from starvation) are sort of mixed into the ordering too. It would just be one massive coincidence that everyone starved and burned to death at the same time. The other possibility would have been people getting memories from beyond the grave, but as it seems, most of them think they were the last to die. That was long, sorry! But now onto my other belief...which also might be long lol. I kind of don't think that Sims 3 Fricorith is... a canon appearance of his. Well, there are aspects about him that I don't find harm in going with because Maxis Made Him lmao, but I really think his appearance overall was meant to be an easter egg more than anything else. There's honestly way too much about him that doesn't really line up with the timeline in the Sims 2 (mostly based on the stuff I mentioned above). If Fricorith really did die somewhere other than the House of Fallen Trees, it would make more sense to have occurred as a tragedy that happened on a vacation or something. He is clearly not listed as the first to die in anybody's memories (since Jon Smith was lol), so it's unlikely the family simply lived somewhere else before. That, and his cause of death is different in the Sims 3, because satellite death didn't exist in that game. His appearance is also totally different too, so I just have a hard time fitting it in with the main timeline. I think that his personality is consistent though, and I agree with the idea that him being there at all would suggest the family died a long time ago! But ultimately, I think he's just a nod. (Oh, and a totally interesting but nitpicky sidenote: I moved a family into the mansion where Fricorith is buried... and when his ghost showed up he was PISSED! Something that I've been told would happen if a new family moved into the house where a ghost died lmao. I know that's nitpicky because Sims 2 came out before Sims 3 and they probably didn't plan for Fricorith to be making any cameos, but I wanted to mention it.) My absolute last theory that kind of stems from the starvation one is that, like many believe, the Tricous might not have all been human. I like to think they're at least vampire enthusiasts because of ... many factors honestly lol but I've been told Jennicor has pointed ears so it made me wonder! But uhhh, yeah. This is a ridiculously long comment that I will be surprised if anyone reads, but I welcome it because this family fascinates me and I wanna talk about them lol. If anyone Does make it this far, let me know what you think!! I could be a little too invested in a Sims family, but there's really no way I believe these guys weren't made to be studied ajshdkfjhg
I always moved my sims to the house of fallen leaves when I still played sims 2 xD I liked big houses and at the time I had a vampire/general monster obsession (I was like 12-13)
Love this! I discovered the Tricou family on accident when Alexander Goth fell in love with and later married “Swan” (she was named Emily Macarevich in my game - now Emily Goth). I noticed that she had 5 “foster siblings” and a foster father who had another family that was dead. I was so confused! So cool finding out the story! And it’s good to know my foster teens story also fits in with the lore! I gave Emily a new look as an adult with a black dress and updo and I absolutely love it.
They're based on a true story in New Orleans. Jon Smith Tricou also has six living teens from different mothers who all have the pleasure aspiration. The Tricou ghosts are all ESFJ, but the teens have different personalities. I like to do the reserrection challenge every October for Halloween!
Ok, listen. I just stumbled across this video and started listening to it while doing stuff. Then I had to start over because I didn't focus And when. I saw the picture of Jonathan Tricou, I knew I knew him from somewhere. I've been playing with this girl (who was a a townie) named Emily Patch. She has five siblings, all with different surnames. And they all are Jonathan's kids. But it's weird because when I look through his character icon, he's only the father of Jennail and Nylissit. It bugged me when I saw that on the family tree, and now, with this video, I'm even more concerned
The actual official answer is that those kids are actually just there for the option to resurrect the Tricou family as it can only be done by people who knew the deceased sims.
Eduarda ye it seems maxis WANTED you to resurrect the tricous, since they added those teens, and also cos theyre about the only premade dead sims that wont cause corruption and stuff if resurrected 😃
You gotta love the sims 2 lore, it's fantastic! I play with this family (well, actually with the teens, they are adults in my game at the moment). I play in spanish, so I know them by the family name "Lucero". When I resurrect everyone Galatea (her spanish name, the teen girl, haha) hated every single one of her family (except her grandfather and cousin)... her father and aunt had and affair (yikes), and she knew it, her grandmother was her enemy... Long story short, when she came back home (I used mods just for storytelling reasons) she took revenge on all her family! The two of them had their own family, I always love the goth ones, lol 😂😂
Hold up... I once had a sim and even if she has a high level of cooking skills, when she cooks turkey, the house ALWAYS catches on fire. I was like wtf
I thought my sim was marrying a random npc but turns out it was one of the “Swans Teens” that show as Jon Smith Tricou’s child but not in his family tree. I was first confused as to why she had siblings but never had a npc have siblings before. I randomly age teens into college.
Probably one of my most favourite videos of this series. Ironically, I am a sims storywriter and former CC creator for The Sims 2, and I'm actually writing a story based on the past of the Tricou, particularly Jon Smith and Jennicor, trying to imagine them when they were young, and what did actually happen to later cause all those sudden deaths.
@popp py I was just a CC creator like many others. I mostly made cars , computers and accessories. Some of the accessories I made I converted them to TS4 and I'm slowly releasing some all new ones for the game.
"it is said the grey woman of simcity protects children from fire from beyond the grave" Of course she lets the 16 year old teens get roasted though lol.
@@TheSimsLore It's interesting that the name is the same as in English, normally when they translate the game in Italian they leave the same names or they change the all name because it doesn't fit in the language. Reaaaally creepy, but interesting 😊
There is a way to resurect the whole family. You need paranormal grimm reaper phone and a sim who had known any of Tricou family members. You resurect a Tricou family sim and then make him/her selectable and then use him/her to use paranormal phone to get the whole family back.😀
@@TheSimsLore not that I can remember.🤔 Anyway, all I need is to make Tricou ternage girl selectable and then use paranormal phone. No additional mods and items. Just her as selectable sim and paranormal phone.😀

It's funny they put all this rich lore behind a family that is entirely deceased and can't even be made playable without cheating or a device that isn't even part of this expansion pack.
Never knew all this about them when I ended up resurrecting 'em all: I had one of my teen sims befriend this blonde, gothic kid that accidentally ended up dying because I had an unfed cowplant on the lot (I also had resurrectonomitron). So, the full process for how I did this: Step 1: befriend a sim even gothier than the Goths. Step 2: invite them over. Step 3: have a cow plant with its cake out. Step 4: when sim inevitably goes for the cake and dies, have Ressurrectotron and plenty of simoleons ready. Step 5: have the sim who befriended them call up the Grim Reaper and resurrect them. Now you have that sim as part of your household, but wait, there’s more: Step 6: get confirmation by checking this sim’s family tree in the relationships panel (now, unusually, they’ll have a rather extensive family for being just a townie sim), this will tell you if you’ve got the right guy. Step 7: with money and Grim Reaper phone ready, have that sim call up the Grim Reaper to resurrect a relative (heck, if you’re lucky, you could even roll that as the sim’s wish). Congratulations, you just resurrected the entire family of the former owners of that mansion. I goofed step 5 because they actually ended up becoming a zombie.

After playing the sims 2 for so long I still had no idea about this family, I never cared to play in Downtown itself
Holy crudmuffins. I played the sims2 back in the day and I don't remember this family at all...
This seems like a reference to the book "house of leaves" and the implication that this home too is a genius loci
That was an interesting video! I love TS2 and its secrets :D I have a piece of advice though: try to lower the background music's sound. I had trouble hearing what you were saying sometimes because of it. Anyway, good job, I like your vids!
Thanks for the feedback, I can definitely see what you mean!
As well as I wish EA had written bios for them to explain further what happened but I guess they leave the players to sort of make that story up for them.
thats not in kiernan or rainelles memories
Does anybody know why do almost all family members when resurrected have a memory of inheriting money from a black cat called Maria?
TonytheGDbutterfly mine have never had that memory, they got inheritance from john smith every time, maybe your game is corrupted 😅
Love this hahah!!!
Oh my god...
Did I just...move my randomized Sims family into a HAUNTED house???
Oh my god, I never noticed the graves! Now I gotta check it out!
"(...) and tragically the turkey was burnt. Also, the woman died." whut xD
After watching this video I was really intrigued by this family and they have become my favorite! So I did lots of digging around the internet and in my own game, and have come up with a few theories. Well, they're more like personal beliefs lmao but it's fascinating enough that I want to share! Long post warning:
The first of which being that I don't think all six of the members who died from starvation actually did die from starvation.
I know that's nitpicky because Sims 2 came out before Sims 3 and they probably didn't plan for Fricorith to be making any cameos, but I wanted to mention it.)
My absolute last theory that kind of stems from the starvation one is that, like many believe, the Tricous might not have all been human.
I did not know that baby thing with the fire! That's so cool
Ok, listen. I just stumbled across this video and started listening to it while doing stuff. Then I had to start over because I didn't focus
And when.
@@hkazu63 OOOHHHHHHHH that makes sense 😅😅 I was really confused for a moment haha
Great video! I love how spooky this family is I hope they come back in future Sims games :O
Idk if anyone said it before, but Tricou means T-Shirt in Romanian :)))
OMG I'm literally in love with your videos :D They are so aesthetic :P
Thank you ❤️
Hold up... I once had a sim and even if she has a high level of cooking skills, when she cooks turkey, the house ALWAYS catches on fire. I was like wtf
Played this game and never noticed this! Amazing work, keep it up 😁
Yessssssss new vídeo i watched all pleasant view, veronaville and strangetown families stories so many times
"it is said the grey woman of simcity protects children from fire from beyond the grave"
Of course she lets the 16 year old teens get roasted though lol.
I was a sucker for Pleasantview and Strangetown so I only brought my sims to downtown from those maps lol. This is my first time hearing about them😂
I've played The Sims 2 Nightlife in Italian and my favourite lot was"Bowling cubetto di zucchero". I'm sorry but I don't know the name in English!
I love that place! It's called the sugar cube bowling!
@@TheSimsLore It's interesting that the name is the same as in English, normally when they translate the game in Italian they leave the same names or they change the all name because it doesn't fit in the language. They did the same in Dutch, can you imagine that Don Lothario is became Stefano Bigoli? It change the origins of the character. Ps. I love all your videos I could watch them for the all day long!

“Tragically the turkey burnt.. however she also died as well”
I remember waiting for this game after being a long time sim city 2000 and the sims fan. It was a huge leap from the sims to the sims 2. I even bought sim city to decorate and create my own custom neighborhood while waiting for the sims 2 to drop! Great memories! ✨🫶🏻
Does anyone find the main music spooky? It kinda creeps me out but in a good way? Like a good early 2000's nostalgic creepypasta haha
I didn't recognise the house until you showed that basement. I was so creeped out by it and so curious as to why it had to be there😂 unfortunately I would always delete the graves in premade houses bc I found ghosts too scary and annoying so I never rlly found anything weird ab the house apart from the basement😅
I know when I discovered this house the first time I was a little creeped out but it was so cool. My dad who doesn’t even care a little bit about sims was like, ‘what!?’ It’s intriguing to say the least!

whats creepy is that when i run my old sims 2 copy the grey woman of sim city is never there
In mine is fountain instead of woman
I married my sim to Benjamin Dallas, who is son of Jonathan Tricou, who has 5 other siblings related to Jonathan. I think Jonathan adopted Benjamin and 5 other kids, since all of them don’t have a mother. I didn’t even know Benjamin was related to him until I saw the family tree and I remembered your video. Reaaaally creepy, but interesting 😊
This was my favorite family/ house
When I played on this lot back in the day the houses made like 20 more vitcims I coming from the sims 1 I didn,t knew ghost were so deadly
This house was my favourite as a kid but I never knew about the family
There is a way to resurect the whole family. You need paranormal grimm reaper phone and a sim who had known any of Tricou family members. You resurect a Tricou family sim and then make him/her selectable and then use him/her to use paranormal phone to get the whole family back.😀
Amazing, thanks for sharing! Have you ever had glitches if you resurrect them?
@@TheSimsLore not that I can remember.🤔 Anyway, all I need is to make Tricou ternage girl selectable and then use paranormal phone. No additional mods and items. Just her as selectable sim and paranormal phone.😀
@@TheSimsLore here you have relatives of the Tricou family. You can use each of them to resurect the Tricou family, but they only know the head of the family - the old Tricou man. If you use them to resurect the old Tricou man, then you have the way to resurect the rest of the family.😀

i learned the motherlode hack specifically to buy that mansion and at the time i never really looked into things and would just redecorate it all
I managed to resurrect them through one of Jon Smith's illegitimate kids and I'm playing them right now. It's really fun.
Me sitting here wondering why I keep hearing my name in the video: 👁👄👁
It's funny they put all this rich lore behind a family that is entirely deceased and can't even be made playable without cheating or a device that isn't even part of this expansion pack.
Never knew all this about them when I ended up resurrecting 'em all: I had one of my teen sims befriend this blonde, gothic kid that accidentally ended up dying because I had an unfed cowplant on the lot (I also had resurrectonomitron).
So, the full process for how I did this:
Step 1: befriend a sim even gothier than the Goths.
Now you have that sim as part of your household, but wait, there’s more:
Step 6: get confirmation by checking this sim’s family tree in the relationships panel (now, unusually, they’ll have a rather extensive family for being just a townie sim), this will tell you if you’ve got the right guy.
I think they should allow you to bring wrolds from sim city to sim 4 and 2 and 3
John Smith was the name of Death in that one Brad Pitt movie

Downtown always scared me when I was younger. I still to this day don't play it or add it to any of my games. I just can't get over the creepy vibe of it all.
My theory is this, John Smith Tricou was a vampire, that’s the reason why he has so many "bastard childs" that he doesn’t recognize as his sons
He maybe find the cure and became human again, and went to live to the haunted house of fallen trees and then, you know
PD: my sims are now living in the mansion and resurrected the cousins, they are good kids (?
Yeah, they're good kids. I just resurrected them yesterday by turning them into zombies.
I love Fricorith so much. He looks so cute and pretty in both Sims 2 and 3. 😍
How do you know all of this?!? THE SIMS IS SO CRAZY!!!
Accidently married some of the kids, kea downie for sure and can't remember the guys name... but I thought it was so cool that they were the first npc I married and they had a family tree!
