My API moment was the first time I mixed using an API. Supernatural Sound in Oregon. They had the legacy plus 48 channel. I had tried mixing the record ITB and then hybrid on my Soundcraft DC2000 at the time. It was good but not giving me the character that I wanted or the band wanted. So we booked a day at Supernatural to see if the console would make a difference. Spitting out the audio to the channels and pulling up the faders and panning things properly, the hairs on the back of my neck started to come alive. The band was also blown away. And we hd not done any processing (EQ, Dynamics, Etc.. ) That console just sounded great. It was a pleasure to work on with the multiple mix buses. This was around 2003 or 2004ish? Since then I have had the pleasure to work on API a ton, and also others. But API has been great.
