Tree! I’ve been watching YOUR content to help keep me inspired for years and I’ve never seen you appear to be struggling like this. Take good care of yourself, we’ll be here when you’re ready. I love the coat and eagerly await your pattern. But please, take the time you need! I love your stuff, but you are much much more than what you make or what you do. I need reminders of that sometimes myself. ❤️❤️❤️

Gosh....lots of people coming on here with really profound sensitive stuff. Yes....I know, I will but getting a bit bored of not pushing it and taking it easy. Thankyou for saying lively things about having watch for years and flattered that I may have inspired you in the past. Fortunately, that 60s Biba dress costume has got me going in a Vivetta type of way so I guess I'm on my way out the other side. Tree Xx

Judy's outfit is stunning! I love the shoulder detail. Do you have instructions for creating them? I absolutely loathe pdf patterns but for this stunning robe/housecoat/coat, I'll make an exception. I'll be on the hunt for some juicy quilted fabric.
BTW- the colour is gorgeous on you! I don't think it's aging. It's vibrant and rich. I think the black grounds it.

Hello, I still have a few of the reduced paper versions of the bucket coat *reduced because without the posh envelopes, I also have a few printed of the box shoulder sleeve pattern so if you order both of us them together and put a note, I can send out together. Thankyou for the compliment re. Red...but still feels a bit much. The link to the shop should be on the description. Tree Xx

You didn't lose your mojo at all! Watching you recall finding the fabric and what you had planned I could see your eyes twinkle and your energy rise.
I think when you've been a content producer for as long as you have it must be a real challenge to come up with more ideas "out of the blue", but then the inspiration is there when considering what to make for someone else.
That's not losing your mojo. I can't believe that will ever leave you.
Thank you for all your work too!
I love your upcycling videos - they both inspire to creativity and style as well as being mindful of the impact of fast fashion!

    Dear Tree
I sort of lost my mojo too ....is this another epidemic?....I am continually worried about money and making a mess of something ....and I didn’t take the machine out for a whole 18 months...it was a real psychological block .....( machine lives in the cupboard with my other sewing stuff )
The other day I forced myself to start again and I thought I will do this in “ stages” ...taking out and unpacking the machine ...sorting through patterns I haven’t attempted yet ...looking at boxes of thread and materials etc....I thought I won’t pressure myself ...I will just take it gently ....
It sort of worked ....I realised that this is what I love !!!! My tools !!! Etc etc ...I can feel it has come back again ........this video of yours has confirmed this ...
I loved the pattern book coat ....did you just get fed up with it ? ....it was looking great !!and really your style ....maybe you will go back to it ...
I hope now you are feeling a bit better about everything ....good luck

    • @StitchlessTV
      @StitchlessTV  2 роки тому

Hello, yes.....doing it in stages is such a good idea. It is amazing how powerful just having the machine out, sitting in the side can be. I didn't call out of love with it, just made it very Labour intensive but like you said....break it down into stages. Thankyou X

@@StitchlessTV 52". I appreciate that I'm well into the plus-size range, and I always need to do FBAs. I only started dressmaking again about 7 years ago, after having stopped in my 20s, when I was a very different shape! I had to learn about fit adjustments and grading from blogs, from pattern cutting courses, from UA-cam. If a pattern can go up to a size 22 or so, I can usually grade it fairly easily, but in the past I've had to grade from a size 18, which is more work than I really care to do!
It's meant that I don't tend to try every new pattern going, because I can't be bothered to go through major pattern-futzing every time. Once I've done the adjusting, I'll try to use the pattern again. Generally, I tend to stick to a few tried and tested patterns, and tweak them enough that it doesn't look I made the same dress 10 times.
PS I kind of lost my own sew-jo last year, and I still haven't finished the dress from the Sew Different Everyday Chic dress workshop on Zoom! I really must sort that out before the Spring hits.

Tre, I'm sorry you lost your sewing mojo. Give yourself time. I have been watching your videos for some time now and you are a brilliant seamstress and all-around creative individual.

I go through this almost every year. I sell at local craft shows every Fall so when the season ends I go into a funk. I think it’s because I am not getting the feedback. My inspiration comes from watching you tubers like you and a lot from Pinterest as well.

Interesting about when you are not getting the feedback. There are worse things going on in the world than my sewing mojo but interesting to hear how it affects so many. Thankyou X
