I can't decide whether to get a compact cargo van, a minivan, or a suburban, and I was interested in your decisions regarding passibility and terrain and weather. In general, have you been satisfied with where the van can get you? Can you get seriously heavy-duty tire for those? I've been eye-balling the Nissan, but I hear that although they've moved away from proprietary tires (thank goodness), the tires available aren't great. Any particular repairs common with the Dodge? There ain't no place like a PNW forest!...but I do like to see the videos in desert areas. I've never been, and I guess I probably will hold off coming down from Canada until the restrictions and/or testing lighten up a bit more.
These Ram ProMaster City cargo vans are pretty versatile vehicles. If you look back through my videos you can watch a couple of videos about a major engine problem with some of these vans. All in all, I’ve been very happy with my van. If you’re looking to do serious off-roading, there will need to be modifications made not just tires. I don’t recommend the Nissan as they have had major transmission problems. They also have a very small payload capacity as evidenced by the tiny tires.
