@@flamedragon1345 involved? You mean evolved? Well, i mean i guess because rarely any animal flipped them over, if they lived long enough they would have gotten some mutation to protect the under belly as well i assume

Wish we had the "transitional species" from before the ankylosaurus and stegosaurus ancestors had their club and thagomizer up til when they did have them. So we could see how and why they evolved to have them. Like, what functions did they have before they became a club or spikes? Also, wish we had a way to know what exactly happened to trigger a mutation from these weapons. Also, why don't we have any animals today that have clubbed tails or thagomizers or any kind of weapon like them on their tails?
Actually, we do have some 'transitional' species. Ankylosaurs and stegosaurs both are part of a group known as Ornithischians, more specifically Thyreophorans. Basal Thyreophorans show that they developed the armor as not only a means of protection, but as a means of thermoregulation. External armor could still be vascularized, like modern crocodiles, and allow blood flow to the outside of the body. Some lost the armor in favor of better thermoregulation, others went vice versa, and boom you've got ankylosaurs and stegosaurs.
My goodness look at that sledgehammer of a tail, I wonder how long that took to evolve? How many fights with T-rexes did it take, answer probably thousands upon thousands of fights.
The hippo lifestyle idea seems unlikely just for the fact that they seem to be the most abundant in arid desert habitats like the Gobi desert. Which is just weird if they were aquatic.
Akylosaurus? More like ankles- no-saurus, damn its only a question of time when Evolution brigging out the unimaginable horror of the toe-stubbio-saurus
You think it’s possible that some ceritopcians could have lived like hippos? Considering how bodies of freshwater tend to have lush vegetation it would make sense many dinosaurs would evolve to take advantage of it. Perhaps some ceratopcians could have become semi aquatic in order to access said food source.

Thank you for the new found information and now this is my new favorite ankylosaur and keep up the good work my friend
Predator: hehe u short
Euoplocephalus: say that to my face
I actually learned about euoplocephalus before the ank as a kid and to this day it's also my favourite type of ank
Ever since I was a kid I wanted to eat a Devil Fruit that would turn me into this walking tank.
They so cute in Jurassic world evolution

I named him Bob. gave him floaties.
I learned first about Euoplocephalus before Ankylosaurus making me think that every club-tail armored dinosaurs are Euoplocephalus
"No solid backing".....pun intended??
One thing you'll learn about me, the puns are always intended
Anyone remember this guy from Dino Dan? Good times. Glad Dino Dana gave it a more up to date redesign.

Based on research done in the last 5 years, it's very likely that ALL dinosaurs could swim to some degree. Some definitely swam easier than others.

Dino Dan introduced me to this dinosaur.

Forget ankle biters. We got ankle smashers.
I love it! 2nd fav tank. Please do Acrocanthosaurus.
Coryxkenshin would love this dinosaur
I love Euphocephalus
this is my favorite ankylosaur too
Ahh, my favorite ankylosaur! If i had one I'd name him Jawbreaker and Id ride on his back
Maybe an episode on Talarurus next??
The prehistoric shooter. Bro really said give me ur ankles
Me and the boys about to go on a metal run
Ankylosaurs is basically The cory kenshin of dinosaurs
Keep up the enthusiasm I love it!
Euo really said "Broken Ankles"
I just noticed Ankylosauridae and ankylosaurus sound like ANKLEosaurus and ANKLEosauridae
He’s goin for the Cankles
nah bro that tail to a tyranosaurus is the dinosaur equivalent to a razor scooter. If don't know you have no childhood
Bro was the ancient scooter
My goodness look at that sledgehammer of a tail, I wonder how long that took to evolve? How many fights with T-rexes did it take, answer probably thousands upon thousands of fights.
rex be like oh look a tasty turtle then anky be like gimme those ankles XD
First time I heard about this dino was in a kids show call DINO DAN
I think we need some ankle biters
A new study shows that Ankylosaurus used their clubs to fight their own kind as well. It is theorised that its for a mating ritual.
Nah that's like a scooter hitting your ankle
“It’s for your own good!”
Proceed to hobble a guy
Euoplocephalus to predators (if it lands the swing): haha ankle go boom
love your videos bro!
This is what happens when you give a tank legs and a melee weapon
Man's became a battlebot
Look the ankylosaurus family is my favorite dinosaur family but I feel like if it tried to swim the armor would make it sink
Fun fact: To the Canadians watching, did you know that if dinosaurs were still alive, you would be chilling with the euplocephasaurus
Fun fact:have you heard of fricking birds plus who says euoplo would be chilly herbivore?
If I had a favorite theropod that wasn’t spinosaurus I’d choose Acrocanthosaurus
Sledgehammer...
Anky: "It's all about the game and how you play it."
I guess coryxkenshin prehistoric spirit animal would be the ankylosaurus
The short height probably helped them escape into think overhead growth (for them) that large predators couldn't navigate through
that’s my favorite dinosaur!
That’s why they call it one of the *Ankle* osaurs
Euplos are basically prehistoric femur breakers. Got it.
Now the ankle breakers are called scooters
65million years ago they were called euplosphalus
I do think accurate dinosaurs a more scary but this is kinda cut😂
My favorite ankylosaur is Liaoningasaurus! Either way I respect your opinion!
My second favorite Ankylosaur only after the Anodontosaurus ❤
I believe that tail bone at the end is in the National History Museum in London! I saw that specific one!
