Jean you have so many good titles to choose for your next read! How lovely! In early December we traveled to England and I lost my mind and bought so many books I had to have them shipped home. They arrived on Christmas Eve and I have been in a state of bliss ever since. Lots of non fiction on nature, landscape and stories of place.
Phoebe Wahl is one of my favourite children's book illustrators. She's got a few more books out there which are equally charming! And she herself is so awesome. Happy New Year Jean!
Not only did my spouse get one, but he actually got me four of the witchy books you recommended in one of your pre-Christmas videos. I got The Witch’s Forest and The Witch’s Garden from Kew and the Taschen books on witchcraft and tarot! I was spoiled and can thank you for pointing out those amazing books
I received the Discworld witches series for Christmas. It's part of my quest to read the whole series. I wanted to read all of them this year but I'm "only" 11 novels and 2 short stories in.
@@JeansThoughts It took me months to finish Wyrd Sisters, so I'm not completely sold. My favorite has been Guards! Guards!. I started out with Moist von Lipwig (on your recommendation), then I read Guards! Guards! and then I started reading them in chronological order. Next one is Pyramids but at least one other person in my city is also reading Discworld and the library's only copy of Pyramids is hot commodity right now.
Partly from watching your podcast, I started adding non fiction to my TBR, including some 404 inklings. I also picked up a Roman Empire one: A History of the Roman Empire in 21 Women.
@ when I picked it up at the store I actually thought this might be a good Jean book! One of my reading goals for 2025 is at least 5 non-fiction books.
I'm looking forward to getting Queer as Folklore when the paperback comes out. I didn't get any books as presents, but I did treat myself to a few! I got Flame Tree's Egyptian Myths and Legends, The Time Traveler's Guide to Regency Britain, Normal Women: 900 Years of Making History, Sarah Clegg's The Dead of Winter (I bought her other book because I came across it on your channel), Empireworld, Lingo by Gaston Dorren, and Palestine: A Four Thousand Year History.
Books I have hauled or received as gifts that I'm excited to read A biography of Tolkien V. by Thomas Pynchon Jane Austen's Juvenila The Bee Sting by Paul Murray A History of Japan by: R.H.P Mason and J.G. Caiger Due to your recommendation I'm almost done with the Heartstone trilogy by Elle Katherine White. I'm starting book three as we speak.

I found Hyperbole and a half in an op shop a few weeks ago. I love her work, so funny but also so real.

Aw this makes me so happy!!!! Also love A History of the Roman Empire in 21 Women. She also has one on crime in Ancient Rome that is really good.
