    I am attempting to follow along with this but as soon as I get to the part where you say to enable proximity fade my entire thing just disappears. I can no longer see it at all, but yet you can on yours so I am confused with that part as I cannot visually tell what any of this is doing for mine. Additionally when I setup the color ramp. mine doesnt change colors
    Edit: I noticed you're using the 4.3 that can perhaps be the issue as I am still at 4.2.

      Proximity fade is not a must, I just found it looked a little better with it, if it's not working that might be a bug with the version you're using. For the color not changing, double check that use as albedo is enabled on the draw pass material vertex color. Try 4.3 and let me know if that fixed it
