Dear Brilliant Classics, Good Evening From Mumbai, India. The Time is now 9.00 P.M. Indian Standard Time. That is to say it is 9.00 in the night. Mumbai, India is 5.30 Hours Ahead Of London, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt etc, You Get the Picture. Mumbai, India in Winter is 10.30 Hours ahead of the East Coast United States, any way some folks wanted to know so I have had my say about this matter. 'Many Thanks For this Magnificent Upload of Franck's Organ Music. I love it a lot but I have a special appreciation for the Violin Sonatas of Franck. ' I have tweeted about this at my twitter handle as I like Organ Music a lot as I was born and raised in Mumbai, India on the Magnificent Organ Music Of Bach which put simply is Organ Music to Die For. Since, I am Christian Organ Music appeals to me a lot in more ways than one. It speaks to my soul. I like a lot what you guys are doing on your You Tube Channel and I will be forever thankful for what you all do as I know such Music is practically impossible to get in any Music Store in Mumbai, India as there is practically no demand for it. Sometimes I often wonder whether I belong to the Middle Ages as from the time I was born in 1971 I was in love with German Classical Music specially the Master Works of Beethoven and Bach and also I have a special love for Austrian Classical Music specially the Works of Johann Strauss, Jozef Strauss, Edouard Strauss, etc. Their Polonaises, Marches, Polkas, etc. I have a great love for the New Years Day Concert which is performed every year live by the Vienna Philharmonic on Jan 1. Due to the untiring efforts of Brilliant Classics You Tube Channel I have fallen in love with Russian Classical Music ass well as with Renaissance Music and Polyphony From The Middle Ages. Thanks for uplouding this great work of music! Unfortonalety there is some awful noise (repeated scratching) around 53:30 to 54:30 (last minute of "Six Pièces: Prière, Op. 20"). It would be fantastic if you could re-uploud it without this.
Franck was one of the champs of Classical Music, failing only in opera. I cannot for the life of me understand the intense hatred some people have of this composer.
Maybe, like some of us, his vision is misunderstood or seldom heard. What do you think is the reason why he is hated by some? -- I personally love C. Franck because of his dreamy phrases and mysterious themes. Much like Prokofiev whose music is dramatic, moving and seemingly story telling. It could be that the traditional "Church" organ listener misunderstands that C. Franck composes life motifs as he emotionally expresses it from his heart as a film composer to the back drop of an adventure or romantic film. We'll never know until we look further about him or look within our selves. His music helps me write my own stories and screenplays of life when in quiet contemplation. I too must grow original and stately roots and branches of vision and new dreams to come; to haunt the world with God and truth in fiction which in some stories is lacking in the film world, thus, diminishing the pleasure of going to and leaving a theater with satisfaction and wonder. - JB
I've never heard anything about intense hatred for Franck. I mentioned this to other musical friends of mine who are organists who love his music and feel that it is underplayed. I'm fortunate to attend a church in Wash. DC that has a fine pipe organ where Franck's music is played from time to time.
@@paulheffron4836 Organists would naturally love his music. I think it's more the Symphonic Variations, Symphony in D, and Accursed Huntsman which have slid a bit in popularity (for some reason) with the general public. French (or in this case, Franco-Belgian) music isn't played nearly as often as it should be.

This was my question too! Thanks for asking it (and thanks @ Steff2929again for answering). I felt the sound of the organ was interesting. I have only ever heard Franck played on a French organ which (to me) has a more nasal, attack-rich, punk sound. The Italian ones are somewhat more mellow and gentle. Interesting to hear his music like this. Thank you for the wonderful upload! Franck is a deeply under-appreciated genius, in my opinion. The organ works are my favs.
