Love the way u break every part down including how many times to strum on each chord., I don't know 'bout others, but u r the only online tutor whom I understood instantly, like 100%, the very first time i saw the vid. Swift lessons are one of the channels that is worth to subscribe, as the teacher and the lessons are absolutely fantastic. With mr Rob's help from his lessons and also from my passion for music, i finally play the guitar. That you mr Rob for your help and your inspiration to keep on and trying. I wish you all the best. Greetings from Greece.
Awesome! So quick and easy. Exactly what I was looking for. For right now I just want to focus on learning open chords to the point that they’re automatic under my fingers, and I’m definitely getting the hang of it, but I decided I should learn a new song every week instead of just doing drills. And you taught it so quick. I was able to play through it right away. I already knew these chords, and the song isn’t very complicated to play. Thanks so much for this.
bigheadmonkeyboy Hey thanks so much for watching and taking a moment to comment. Glad you enjoyed the lesson and that you found success with it. Many more lessons are on the way, including a bunch of beginner friendly ones. Best. -Rob
This has been the song/tutorial that's got me going the best to start with. Thanks man. A few months ago I started with this song and got it after just a few hours. Now I've gave guitar learning a rest and just got started again, I gave this a watch. Found it really easy straight away, I'm just at where I left off. Going to get on to trickier songs now.
This actually saved my band grade because I put it off my project until the day it was due and I learned this in 15 minutes. Thank you so much swiftlessons!

lI have been doing this guitar challenge but the tunes in between the exercises have been so difficult to get the head around. So, I needed this one, refreshing! I am so slow with the chord changes too so I loved this one especially with the singing as well - thanks Mr Love Songs.
Prince Luie Thats great to hear, thanks for the feedback, so glad this video helped you to learn your first tune! Keep it going, tons of songs use this same chord progression!
i been brought back here from some comments in my email, and it just occurred to me, did this song originally have any guitar? I hear piano or organ, and BASS! been a while though... anyway this is the best song learning video online... perfect example of how to do it right. straight to the point, teaches it, plays it, ends it, no opinions, no showing off, no time wasting fancy intro, no bs. as well as a very well done performance, great singing, and i am really enjoying this version of the song. now lets do radar love hahahaha i want lessons from this guy
Hey man! It’s been a while, but I remember how I learned it. I google searched a picture of all the basic guitar chords. I spent an hour learning every chord and memorizing them. Then, I just pieced the song together. Now, after 10 months, I can play at least 50 songs perfectly. Practice made perfect!!
Excellent Video! Excuse me for butting in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Riddleagan Skillful Playing Remedy (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a great exclusive guide for learning complex guitar chords and become a pro without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my best friend Jordan finally got astronomical results with it.

Ive been following your lessons on and off and this was one of my first videos and loved the ooh now now reggae added in was my favorite.🦋🎸🙏you're doing awesome. I'm gonna stick with one teacher a while.thanks for all the lessons over a long time.
Useful! I would suggest however that in addition to the chord notation you displayed (like Cmaj- x32010) you also add an actual diagram to it. Why? Because morons like me end up Googling the "code" thinking it's some kind of special reference number for the chord. So yeah... I did that...
***** Sometimes I do feature diagrams that I have pre-photoshopped. It takes extra time, and can really slows down the upload speed from imovie. One thing I will point out, is that you took it as a learning opportunity and now you can use that skill in my future videos where I didn't have time for more polished annotations. Thanks for the advice, soon I hope to have better quality graphics on all my vids. -Rob

I'm happy to say with your help I learned this in less than 45 minutes. Thank you for helping me have a win. Youve started a lifelong guitar player.
Thank you man. I don't know what you did different but after a long time of trying I connected with this video and finally have been able to play a song for the first time on a guitar. I can now keep up with you on this video and have moved on to some of your other videos. You are a great instructor.
Hey everyone,
Tell me what I should teach next, I have a new request a song page at Swiftguitar.com/request. Thanks! -Rob
+swiftlessons Its been disabled
+Gabriel Fonseca I think its back!
swiftlessons Awesome
+swiftlessons Wow man I'm impressed!! I have had several guitar teachers who are xceptional guitarists but I must say ur teaching style is the very best. Love the way u break every part down including how many times to strum on each chord., I don't know 'bout others, but u r the only online tutor whom I understood instantly, like 100%, the very first time i saw the vid. Thanks man, really appreciate ur style of teaching. Subscribed. :)
Thank you for taking the time to put these videos up, when I get frustrated with guitar I just watch your videos and they help me understand better. You should definitely teach Glass in the Park by Alex Turner because it is absolutely beautiful and I can't figure out how to play it just by googling it. Also Heavy Hearts by Too Close to Touch
Dude... first off, GREAT hair! And second...
I ACTUALLY PLAYED IT! OH MY GOSH! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!
I played guitar for 13 years straight 7 years old to 20. Now that I'm 30 I want to play again but I really want to sing this time around. I could never even talk and play so this is a huge struggle for me. Thank you for the video , it gives me a little bit of a direction to go with this.:)
Yes! finally i can play and sing this song! Hold on ladies, i'm comming!
(Thanx bro,you are the best)
петя крумс Haha, go get em brother! Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed the lesson. Something new will be up today, and then back to beginner friendly lessons next week. Be well. -Rob

I went to many online lessons, and what is great is that he says the chords. and writes them down. I write it in my notebook. Other people will say "3 fret 2nd string then 4th fret 5th string blah blah confusion. Rob shows it in print. CLEARLY! I learned to read music in 3rd grade, as it was taught at my school, so his way is perfect for me to learn easily!thank you so much
3rd grade lol.. i was still learning English in 3rd grade.
thank you so much swiftlessons !!!! after 5 yrs finally removed pluto out of storage and out of all my fsiled attempts,,finally a lesson i can play...thank you so much! you are awesome! because of you i can sing and play at the same time.
Picked up my guitar immediately to play along! Great video. Thanks.
Hello and happy New Year,
Thanks so much for making this one of UA-cams most popular beginner guitar lessons! In the coming year I would like to take this channel to the next level; releasing a minimum of three videos per week on a wider range of subjects. If you have enjoyed my work thus far, please consider supporting the channel at patreon.com/swiftlessons. Just a dollar per month will grant you access to exclusive lessons, tabs, worksheets and other secret resources. 2016 is going to be a great year of learning and growing together, and I can't wait to unveil my best lessons to date. Thank you. -Rob
This is the first song i've learned by swift lessons when i started playing the guitar.
Just for anyone wanting to spice this up you can also do 3,2,0 on the low E between the g chord and the em chord.
🤗
Seriously easy to follow and well explained. Good job
bigheadmonkeyboy Hey thanks so much for watching and taking a moment to comment.
I’ve been picking guitar on and off for years and typically struggle learning new songs as most tutorials aren’t as helpful as I’d like
This was extremely beneficial for beginners! Thanks :)
Hey brother , I live your lessons and everything I know the last two years is made easier because of you . God bless you my friend keep up the great work my man. Jezz 🙏
My father gave me a guitar 15 years ago, I never touched it. He died a few weeks ago and this was his favorite song, thank you, I'm learning for him now

Hey Paul, thank you for all the positive feedback and the sub, I’m so glad that you are appreciating my teaching style!

This was like the first song I learned how to play a long time ago, thanks man!
That’s amazing, glad to be apart of your progress! -Rob
lI have been doing this guitar challenge but the tunes in between the exercises have been so difficult to get the head around. So, I needed this one, refreshing! I am so slow with the chord changes too so I loved this one especially with the singing as well - thanks Mr Love Songs.
Great lesson, very clear, and easy to follow. Thank you!
Thank you Rob for the lesson all the way from Israel ❤️
I love this song and your lesson is greatly appreciated
thanks bro, that was easy. I have always loved this song, but never thought it would be my first song to play :)
Prince Luie Thats great to hear, thanks for the feedback, so glad this video helped you to learn your first tune! Keep it going, tons of songs use this same chord progression!
Excellent way to make learning chords fun by bringing in that chuck strum.
Thanks Hozier
Thank You Jezus

Holy Sh!t ... +9 million views since 2013. That's amazing!!
Yow you got a heart!!😍
i been brought back here from some comments in my email, and it just occurred to me, did this song originally have any guitar? I hear piano or organ, and BASS! been a while though... anyway this is the best song learning video online... perfect example of how to do it right. straight to the point, teaches it, plays it, ends it, no opinions, no showing off, no time wasting fancy intro, no bs. as well as a very well done performance, great singing, and i am really enjoying this version of the song. now lets do radar love hahahaha i want lessons from this guy
Very nice. Man, I wish I had my guitar at the office. Don't tell my boss that I'm surfing youtube at work :-)
deasttn It will go to my grave my friend. Thanks for watching, much more is on the way, in fact i'm breaking out the camera gear right at this moment!
I’ve never played guitar before and this only took me 2 hours! Thanks bro
bro ive only ben playing guitar for a week but still cant figure this out, show me your ways lol.
Hey man! It’s been a while, but I remember how I learned it. I google searched a picture of all the basic guitar chords. I spent an hour learning every chord and memorizing them. Then, I just pieced the song together. Now, after 10 months, I can play at least 50 songs perfectly. Practice made perfect!!
You had such a great voice 🥰
I’m learning guitar now and I follow a lot of your lessons :)
I LOVE your channel! A lot of people can play well, but they don't teach well.you are a great teacher. Thank you
Gave me goosebumps when he started singing

So glad it did the trick! Many more lessons are on the way, both here and at patreon.com/swiftlessons. Keep picking! -Rob
Dude please do a cover of (I will follow you into the dark ) you are a great teacher man!!!
Its been 11 years yet its still useful

@@Gloomy_Vibe04lmao
As well as having to understand it’s for beginners that might not know how to read those. It would be more editing for
No reason
Read the title. It's for beginners
Ive been following your lessons on and off and this was one of my first videos and loved the ooh now now reggae added in was my favorite.🦋🎸🙏you're doing awesome. I'm gonna stick with one teacher a while.thanks for all the lessons over a long time.
Now I can cry while playing and thinking of ffxv😢
-Rob
The only thing i did correctly is sing the lyrics..i really suck lol
great video though! ;)..im definitely getting back to it once i seriously try to learn how to play
Keep working *****, guitar requires a lot of commitment, and practice. But every second you devote to the instrument is progress. Best of luck. -Rob
swiftlessons Thank you! :) I'll keep at it!
I have the same problem :(
At least you guys can sing.. When I try I can see the neighbours across the street closing their windows
