- In this video I show my favorite build and wicking method. This thing produces good vapor production and excellent flavor! Can be adapted to almost any RDA. The key is allowing you air to flow under and around the coil.

I tried all types of builds, but I always came back to this one. You're right, there's no need for dual/quadruple Clapton dragon coils blah blah etc..

That's an excellent build bro, I'm a new builder and my first RDA is a Tugboat stock clone. I'm using an Istick clone called the U20, it allows for a sub ohm build to .5, so it can handle the Atlantis tank. I've only made 2 builds so far, and they have been good for both vapor and flavor, but what your showing here is a beauty. I'm waiting for my first mech mod to come in the mail, I ordered a Manhatten copper clone, and the first thing I'm gonna do is tackle this build. Thanks for taking the time to share this, you da man! Rad build! Thanks so much for this video. I just built mine at .30 ohms running a sony 30a battery. Mutation X RDA with a panzer blackhawk mod. I have only been building coils for a few months, mostly dual single coils in a vertical configuration. They don't even come close to the flavor and vapor from this build. Absolutely love it, thanks again.

Nice vid. I know it's been about a year ago, but I was just looking for a simple single build for my tugboat and lo-n-behold I found this. Made my day. Mine didn't turn out as pretty as yours did, but it works beautifully ! And true, no slouch on the cloud coverage.
Still visit this vid every once in a while. Just bought a Deathtrap 24. Was dicking around with different claptons n stuff then thought back to this video. Gonna do this build n throw it in for old times sake. This was my favourite build tutorial years back when I had the Tugboat (Still got it but broken now). Still love this video man.
Massive kudos for the battery safety advice/short lesson at the beginning! So many (most in fact) UA-camrs may mention battery safety very briefly but they don't go into specifics. Many just skip it all together.
Honestly, you've just pointed out to me how bad the lack of battery safety talk is on UA-cam.
I think a lot of UA-camrs just assume that their viewers know about battery safety just because they've been doing it for a while. Many forgetting that for lots of people, the video they land on may well be their first coil building tutorial they've ever watched.
Complacency is rampant with regards to battery safety.
I personally think that for every coil building tutorial (or even a mech mod review) a UA-camr makes - they should should assume there are new viewers who no absolutely nothing about ohms law etc, and should include a portion (near the beginning like yours) on safety. Even if it's just basic safety.
It should be a basic standard for all vaping UA-cam channels IMHO.
Again, major props. Putting even veteran UA-camrs to shame. You're a credit to the community. :-)

Great vid man…followed it to a T for my mutation X …came up with a .43…lined up and centered the coil to be over the first hole in the afc pattern and WOW…great vapor and flavor…thanx again for sharing.
I can't wait to try this build. I recently quit smoking and started vaping. And developed "Vapor's fatigue" so I'm looking for builds with more flavor. I do not want to start smoking again. I feel amazing without cigarettes.

great build just installed it in aspire atlantis tank works great no bubbling or over wicking so far but if it does i will up the vg on a 60vg 40pg mix at the moment thank you rock star you rock

Frist time I try building. I got 0.6 ohm and it taste good and make a lot of cloud. I've got a hand handicap (CMT) so pretty good for me I think.

alright after watching this build it has no became my all time favorite, heats up so fast , good vapor prod, good flavor and what surprised me is that my royal hunter didnt heat up that quickly . only con would have to be the amount of juice you would be dripping but thats the price for having a nice build. Goodjob !

Just built my first parallel. Haven't installed it yet but I'm hoping to get similar results. I didn't do the kink, just cut two pieces equal length and coiled me up nice and tight. I think you said to keep the leads from crossing in the posts, but not sure. I have a regulated mod so it won't fire if it shorts and has an ohm meter so I should be good. Started using organic cotton which is not as fluffy as the rolled but I'm definitely going to try pushing some wick through the posts as I prefer single coils. Thanks!
It's crazy...this is also my favorite build and it's the simplest tho build...Ive built clapton, twisted parralels, verticals, tons..stuff i made up that looked like a bird nest lol all sorts and this one still stands above all

hi, great video. i only have khantal 28G right now, i tried twisted dual coils but the rampup time is a bit too long, do you have a good coil that can fix that? im thinking a parallel single coil like yours but maube only 3-4 raps? whats your opinion about that ?

Rock Star Vapes came out to .2 Great flavor a little warm but not uncomfortable used 26gauge around a 2.5 mm rod had a twisted spaced coil at .4 it wasn't bad but just wanted a change. The parallel is going to be in there for a wile very good flavor thankyou for the tip.

I still don´t get though what´s the difference between the max discharge and the continuous? (Amps x c rate = continuous discharge Amp OR max discharge Amp and which one is the important one????)
Like on my NCR 18650 PF with 2900mAh and 3.4 c = 10Amps I could go low as .5 Ohm with 4.2Volts but online I found other charts recommending not going lower than .9 Ohm...

Conserve le soleil I'm definitely no expert on batteries, but I would say that going by your Ohm's Law calculations at 4.2 volts, you should be safe. That leaves you room for error due to voltage drop in your mechanicals. As for which rating is more important, IMO that would be the continuous discharge rating. The whole pulse rating is very up in the air. Too many hypotheticals to risk it. By biggest recommendation is picking up some batteries with higher amp ratings such as the Samsung 25r, then you really have some room to play with if you want to push the envelope a little bit. However, like I said, I'm no expert on batteries. Just remember to do your research and always have a built in margin of error for safety.

I have a plume veil atty. And was wondering if this would work on that. Also I have 26g Kanthal and was wondering how many wraps would I need to hit 0.7 ohms. Also if I did that would it be a hot vape

so i got a nemesis clone mod and a tugboat v2 i charged battery did ur coil thing everything is set and it wont work when i push the button it wont work the battery is in place the button is touching the battery and everything is right idk why its not working!
I'm willing to bet it's the 510 connection. Something isn't adjusted right. Take your top cap on the mod off and try to screw the 510 pin in so it touches the pin on the tugboat. Then let me know what happens.
Man, I have tried just about every size and shape of coils. Your coil has allowed me to get better clouds and flavor, than I have had since i started vaping. Forgive my ignorance.. but why wrestle trying to keep the two coils parallel. Why not just wrap 10 times?
This is the first video I have seen of yours and I really enjoyed it! I started on a EMOW then went to the v1 Atlantis and now use a sub tank mini. I want to take the plunge into the world of RDAs and have watched hours upon hours of tutorial videos and have been seriously overwhelmed with how over complicated some people make it.... Until now! You got it spot on when you said "there's no need for super fancy coils" , just something that provides great flavour and a relatively decent cloud! I'm more interested in the flavour and was thinking of the tugboat v2 for my first RDA, possibly the mutation xv4, magma or doge v2.. Any suggestions? I've heard the veritas is good for flavour too? Thanks for your great video though mate, I'll be watch more for sure! :)

What would the wrap count be on a dual coil to still read at .3 to .4? Im going to try this in my tug if i can get this kanthal straight
Generally you would need double the wire to achieve the same ohm load. So you're looking at like 18 - 20 wraps which isn't feasible. To go dual coils, I would advise stepping up to a higher gauge of kanthal. However, I think If you give this a shot in single, you may just dig it enough to not worry about dual coil!
Yea i kinda figured the dual would be like that but felt compelled to ask. I couldn't get my Kanthal straight without the drill so am going to try it again once i get that replaced

Here's my question: If there's one coil & the Tugboat has two air holes, what about the other hole? And with the set up, having the second air hole open like that, is that giving you the flavor, besides vapor production?
Otherwise, Nice! And I'll give a try in my Quasar & Zenith... Which both have single coil air flow options.
With this coil in particularly, it produces enough vapor that the extra airflow doesn't diminish the flavor greatly. I should have explained further in the video. I go with the parallel for fast ramp up. IMHO, dual parrellel are just a bit to aggressive for an ADV. I feel like this particularly build is a great balance. The key is the air being allowed to move around the whole coil. I also like the upside of slower battery drain with single coil.

john goldberg No way, the ohm load would be wayyyyyyyyy to low and I can't think of any atomizer that has enough room in the post holes for two strands of 18g.
yo I made this build and I put it around 40w and that shit caught on fire lol, I was gonna take a hit before testing it, but then I took the cap off and pushed the button and it cought on fire lol

The very top portion of the mod should screw off. There will be a pin that makes the connection from the battery to the bottom of the tugboat. It can be adjusted in or out for longer 510 connections. The 510 is just the bit at the bottom of your atomizer that connects it to the mod. You may be able to search for a video on UA-cam that talks about the nemesis in detail and has instructions for adjusting it.
