I am making clothes for my Dutch Dolls, and I talk about some of the things I have noticed as a relative newcomer to sewing fabric as opposed to leather, and I show the steps in making an outfit. I hope you enjoy this video.
I can only imagine the joy this doll must have brought the recipient!❤ What a wonderful gift full of love that keeps giving over and over while enjoying to craft and sew for it ❤
Sorry to hear about your mum Harry. Love the old singer 66
Thanks very much Mike.
You fashioned the doll clothes with a good fit and pleasing fabrics. And, the lace under petticoats are delightful. I am happy to see you follow through to make the clothes for the wood dolls you made. It was so interesting to see you work the old Singer (which
looks to be in tip top condition.
Thanks very much Raine, your dolls were a very helpful inspiration...they are fantastic.
Beautiful sewing box of your mother’s. Fabulous work on the dolls clothes. 👌💕
Hi Harry, I am so sorry to hear about your mother passing away. My condolences to you and your family, bless you all.
The dolls look fantastic, I love the Singer sewing machine, I’m sure I still have one in my loft. You have inspired me to have a look for it, I love the mechanics of the hand powered machines. Brilliant as always, take care, regards, Chris.
Thanks very much Chris...and I expect with a drop of oil your Singer will be purring.
Have you thought about building a historical dollhouse to go with the dolls? You could learn so many new skills working with the real materials, like, glass, stone, metal, wood, clay etc. I started building one before I fell too ill. I hope every day I can soon get back to it. It was so much fun! The research is still a lot of fun. Getting to know all the different gadgets and tools they used to have and learing about the period history. It really is a wonderful hobby! ❤
I gave up with the hemming foot years ago! I'm digging in to learn to use a pfaaf treadle today, but have always wondered about the mechanics of feeding fabric and spinning the wheel at the same time. Thank you!
condolences to you and your family on your moms passing.
That is one beautiful sewing machine.
Thanks very much James.
Harry: Yes, please -- I and I'm sure many others would be fascinated to see you make a shirt or other conventional garment for yourself.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom. The dresses are very pretty.
Thanks very much Debbie.
Bravo come sempre.
Queste bamboline olandesi sono adorabili.
Gracias Martina.
I loved watching this. I would like a doll to make clothes for as I make regency and Georgian costumes.. where can one buy a doll like that?
Hello I will very shortly be publishing a book on making these dolls. Alternatively if you look on say Ebay UK for Grodnertal dolls some will come up.
Thank you!@@harryrogers
this style of doll must surely have been the inspiration for a children's television show from the 1950's called The Woodentops.
Yes I imagine so Peter, though I have not seen a direct reference.
@@harryrogers I've read that one of the creators of The Woodentops was South African, who I guess may have had Dutch ancestry
@@peterwimsey5904 Thanks Peter that's interesting.
I like this channel thank you
Thanks Harry
I hope things are going well Joseph. All the best Harry.
Do you sell your dolls?
Hi there is one on my website Bucklehurst Leather, all proceeds to MDS Cancer support charity.
🤗🤗🤗🤗
Fantastic work Harry. It eviscerated me to hear about your mother. It’s not right on so many levels.
Thanks JS, yes in my opinion the discharge from hospital of infected people into care homes was disgraceful.
