Why is no one talking about Chiang Dao Thailand?

- Chiang Dao is truly a hidden gem--a beautiful mountain village in Northern Thailand, only an hour and half away from Chiang Mai. Today we explore the best of it, thanks to a hand drawn map from the owner of the Chiang Dao Nest. With its beautiful mountain views, natural hot springs, and epic caves, we kept wondering--why is no one talking about Chiang Dao?

Where are your favorite hot springs? WE NEED MORE HOT SPRINGS IN OUR LIVES
Pai has some wonderful hot springs that are worth a look. Plus, the town itself is a must for those exploring Northern Thailand. I was a teacher in Chiang Mai for three years (2013-2016), and after visiting Pai and experiencing all it has to offer, I would kick myself if I hadn't seen it for myself! BTW, your videos are fantastic; so entertaining and informative!! Keep it up, as so many of us get to live vicariously through you :).
Peninsula hot springs, about 1.5hrs drive south of Melbourne
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful area of Thailand ❤ new must go destination ❤
Honestly this is one of my favorite Thailand videos. Place looks so peaceful and stress free.
thanks so much for watching! Chiang Dao is beautiful and definitely one of our favorite places in Thailand now :)
That was the cutest smile in the end, omg 😍
:) :) :)
Love the hand drawn map! Those are the best! It seems everywhere you turn in rural Thailand is a cafe with a beautiful view. Pai is an experience, but I took one of those minivans - so many twists/turns - gave me vertigo for the rest of the evening. I highly recommend you take some motion sickness pills if you visit Pai via minivan. The folks who took their scooters to Pai got really tired. You can rent a scooter in Pai anyway. Great cave - I'll put it on my list. You're really burning off that Thai food with all the steps. I like Lisa's little smurk... like "he's talking about me...i told you so...I'm an awesome planner". When are the fun Travel Thurrrsday skits gonna come back?
the hand drawn map was such a gem, it's a keeper, for sure :) we heard the same about Pai--we really wished we could visit, but that's the best part about leaving places undiscovered--you always have a reason to come back :) and you called it! Travel Thursdays!!
I absolutely love you 2, I'm currently binge watching your older episodes ❤ you 2 have given me the courage to travel the world..
hey, thanks so much for saying that! you got this! :)

Wow what an absolutely beautiful place!! The natural sound in the background is so peaceful 😍 Probably one of the most calming vlogs we’ve seen 😂
it was such a peaceful day, such a juxtaposition to the days we've been feeling in the city :)
What a nice couple. Enjoy this beautiful country. The Land of smile and of my dreams. Keep on going.
Thailand is so, so wonderful--we can see why it's the land of smiles (and your dreams!) :) thank you for watching!

Great couple, great vid!
hey hey, thanks! :)
So nice
i stayed there a few years back The lady Wicha is a great cook and had the best bread and breakfast
it's so awesome there. we didn't get a chance to meet Wicha, but we loved her map!
I appreciate the respect you have for the culture and traditions of the places you visit.
we're trying! :) we definitely don't know everything, but seeing the world is such a great way to learn :)
Thailand have feeling of emotional ground class to top class for travellers ...🎉🎉🎉🎉
I absolutely loved the map you have 😢 can I ask where you got that one from I badly need one. I am trying to make one but again couldn't finish it up
Chiang Dao is so beautiful 😍
so unbelievably beautiful!
Whats up Adventures!!! 😯😯😯
Visited Chiang Dao instead of Pai, in 2019. One of the warmest memories from Thailand…
yes! what a gem Chiang Dao is :) We were sad to miss Pai, but maybe we will reach it someday. Chiang Dao was a lovely retreat
Chiang Dao seems like a new hit among Thai as well. If you go down south again, consider Nakornsrithammarat.
thank you for the suggestion! the beaches, temples, and city look beautiful!!
Greetings from Greenwich London ⚓️ ⛵️
Cheers ☕️ 👍 🌹 ✅
Hello!! 👋
Wow 😳 what a great trip! You are really exploring Thailand and giving me ideas to do the same. If I just had more time... How long until you leave Thailand and where to next?
we feel the same and have been here for 3 months!!! Thailand never ceases to amaze us and surprise us with all its beauty. we left, just yesterday :( but our next video coming out today will answer this exact question :D
Hi…Lisa and Josh have fun and take care both of you…From Bay Area San Francisco Thank you…
Thank you! You too!
Thanks for sharing the video. The reason why no one talks about it is to not make it crowded and announce it. The villagers there don't appreciate when crowds go over. When a lot of people use the hot springs the locals stop going and yes they use angry dogs if they have to.
Please be conscious of the villagers. Thank you 🙏✨
This is really helpful context, thank you, we agree, it’s important to be respectful of the home of others
You shouldn't miss Phu Chee Fah before you leave Chiang Rai. And If you love mountains and peaceful nature at Chiang Dao I'd like to recommend Mae Hong Son and Nan. You two would love it. Hope you have a great time in Thailand and safe travel along the trip.
Thanks for sharing! We've heard wonderful things about Mae Hong Son and Nan.!
😻
we found a lot of options for bag couriers online, but it was most helpful for us to work with our albergues directly. In SJPDP, we decided we wanted to ship one of our bags all the way to Santiago, but because of border restrictions that year because of the pandemic, we had first send it to Roncesvalles for the first day and then from Roncesvalles, we worked with our albergue to ship it all the way to Santiago with Camino Facil (it was great!) There are many options--you can ship packs all the way to your end point or you can have couriers bring it along the way and have it meet you at your albergue each day. :)
I have wanted to go to Chiang Dao for a while. Was planning this, as we go to CM each year, and then....WE have been to Rai twice, and love it. Our problem is..hubby is 86 and can't ride a scooter (balance problems ) and i am not going to drive!!! Can one get around enough by transport?? WE are very easy going and take in stride everything...if one of the kids comes, we could rent a car (we did in Pai) but maybe there are not cars there?? Any help would be great, and thank you for making the video...was so excited to see it!!!
Hi Carla! Thanks for the questions. We heard from many people that there are buses that run from Chiang Mai to Chiang Dao (both public and private tour operators.) You can also rent car from CM and drive to Chiang Dao. There are also taxis in the region. Hope you get to visit soon, it was such a lovely gem!
If you love Chiang Dao this much , i recomended you to visit Nan province also in the North
And you will fall in love the place , you will love Doi Phu Kha National Park beautifulllll view up on the montain and sea of fog almost all time.
wow Doi Phu Kha looks so so beautiful! the green mountains everywhere! 😍 we wish we had more time, but we will had this to our list of places to visit when we return :)
Chiang dao are more for locals. Hey guys, if you heading that way stop by chiang khan the most cute little town by mekong 🇹🇭my favorite town.
wow! just looked up Chiang Khan and it looks stunning. definitely adding that to our bucket list :) thank you!!!
@@LisaAndJosh told you🙄😂my favorite cute town it’s more for Thai locals tourists. Don’t forget to stay by the river so beautiful during sunset and sunrise 😊can’t wait to see the video ❤️🇹🇭
@@ST-gk6rs we won’t be able to fit that in this trip, but more reason to be back soon:)
Secret place 😁😁😁
😍
How did you found it ? If not on Agoda 🤔
