- When we went to see our friends at Giving Tree Massage, they told us "Tomorrow...don't eat breakfast...go to this market." So...we did. All we knew was that it was called the "Coconut Market." What we found was the most beautiful and unique market we've ever been to in Thailand, set in the most idyllic coconut grove. This was the best morning we've had in Chiang Mai so far--all thanks to our good friend, Imm.

That topping on crispy pancake is actually egg yolk threads, called 'Foi Thong' in Thai and 'Fio De Ovos' in Portuguese. (Yes, it's originally dessert from Portugal, but with the long history in Thailand.)

this market looks amazing. I love that you made friends with locals so you could get to some gems like this. also I don't know why but one of the things I loved about the little café place is their selection of totally random and mishmash cups, instead of an army of identitcal logo cups lol such character!

Inside white fluffy filling is egg white and sugar.
Toppings can include pork floss, egg yolk threads, fruit.
it's so great! haha and luckily no coconut related injuries occurred that day!

What a fun market to find! And it would never have happened if Lisa hadn't gotten over her massage fear. 😉 We have a friend who's allergic to coffee (such a sad state of affairs, btw), and he can drink instant because it's the oils he's allergic to. Super curious to hear more on this! I'm allergic to Chardonnay and all red wines ice tried. Allergies are weird. 😂😂
wow, never thought of instant coffee, that's an experiment (maybe?) worth trying. Josh was not always allergic, which is interesting. And chardonnay and ALL red wines? wow! allergies truly are bizarre and so unpredictable!
