As long as you support the tray door with your left hand and pull the tray with your right hand as in the VDO. The clip at the rear of the tray will click off the chrome shaft but will make a loud noise as on the VDO. Please, follow the VDO guide step by step and it should be o.k. Good luck.

I tried pulling very very hard, I honestly think the previous tenants broke it and glued it and now the left sliding part is stuck
