This isn't really even a "sometimes" thing. This is how chickens resolve major pecking order problems. We see roosters do it a lot more often, sure, but my hens fight roosters all the time and occasionally fight each other.
We have wild turkeys on our property and playing this clip seems to always draw a few toms. The gobblers are looking for a show to watch and then hope to breed the winner.
I broke up my fight among 2 girls. The one gave up a long time ago but the aggressive one kept grabbing the back of her neck and she tried to get away each time. I pulled up the side and shoved her ass out of the pen lol. She spent the evening roosting on top.
No need to help, that's how the assert dominance. They will probably will get back at it in a few days or maybe weeks. The good thing everything will be quiet for a while and they even will go to the bed together, unlike humans no hard feelings! 😄
They grew up together, so it's not a turf war. Just occasionally they decide that they don't like each other. They still do it almost three years later. Would live in peace for weeks, and one day decide to have a fight.

Hello I love you
You mean turky hens?
I've watched them fight a few times. Quite the display!
Sometimes hens do strut... One of my hens even has a beard
Mr Will Does it have a preference for flannel? Maybe it's a LesbiHen. (I wrote that mostly to annoy my auto-correct)
One of my hens have a beard too

No the Hens do our one hen is being super protective of her eggs, she puffs up and hisses. She's normally very sweet but she's buggered right now.
They're a mean bunch aren't they...
My turkey would fight ME
It’s not only the males but females too
Lol the short, pudgy one was winning at first, she just lost momentum.

Who is the champion
You know those aren’t hens tho right
When the hell did turkey hens become so bitchy?!? As they say… “it’s gonna be a… girl fight”!!!
Would they be fighting for any reason other than being on the other turkey’s property?

Glad that he will be eaten later. I felt sorry for the other one crying.
He? They're girls and some Turkies aren't eaten.
Those are not hens
Laughingdogink yes they are. They look like broad Breasted Bronze turkeys, hence the size.
They are broad breasted turkey hens. They look pretty masculine because of the breed.
They lack a prominent snood
I stand corrected...yes they are hens...now that I have between 15 to 50 turkeys in my yard daily...I now see that yes in fact, they are hens! 😉
@@laughingdogink155 good. Be corrected
