- Who wants to spend all day in a salon chair, when you can... do it yourself? Maybe trying to dye my own hair RIGHT before going on national television was a bad idea, BUT I was busy trying to figure out how to book a collab with Miss Piggy. Priorities, right?

Bethany I have a great tip for you. Before you Color your greys, use a cotton swab soaked in peroxide and run it over your grey sections. This opens the hair follicle to accept the dye better. My hair dresser gave me that tip. It works pretty well.

LOL...I quit doing my own hair because I was an insane person in the bathroom, flinging auburn color all over the walls and counters! Nope. I will pony up and pay the hairstylist magician-witch to do her magic on my spoonful of hair, LOL. Look foward to this one, Bethenny. Yikes.

Ms. Bethenny, I am a life long NYC resident and have only viewed one house wife episode. It was the day of Bryn's christening. Your "mama bear" instincts were so raw, that my heart began to ache. I have often seen you viewing street art and giving major support to young artists. I don't recall the years or dates, but I recently turned 46. It was then that you became my very first and only reality "star" inspiration, even though I couldn't cope with watching the series. Over ther years I gained so much respect for you as an individual, entertainer, entrepreneur, PHILANTHROPIST & MOTHER. Had to use upper case letters❤. Your gift of authentic humor, but more than anything else your life priorities are exceptional. You are a brilliant entrepreneur, but that is the least of it. Your legacy, will always, in my mind and heart be your empathy and passion towards humanity. No matter the crisis, you were at the helm of organizing (often anonymously) fund raising, utilizing your personal funds. In time this has continued and grown. However your role as a loving, protective mother has/is your entire life's work. It is my deepest belief that your precious Bryn, is turning into an untainted lovely young woman. Oh my hairdresser and I color my grays every 10 days. Its a must! But you have to use good product and leave it on for 45 minutes

@@bethennyfrankele-salon. I've been using them for years I have to say they're pretty damn good and the quality is excellent. Will not damage your hair, give them a try. Only thing is that you might have to try between a 15 or 20 volume depending on how your hair responds to gray coverage. I'm 39 and finding out the hard way that I have to do my roots every 4 to 6 weeks😢

I HATE going to the salon. I feel like the hairstylist in Palm Beach are just getting worse getting more expensive. I have blonde hair and all they do is a partial highlight and I end up paying $300 and having to go home and blow dry my own hair and I still see black roots in the front and white along the side of my head. I wish it was as easy to hide the grays of blonde hair as it is with dark hair.

Love this weeks’ segment. I use to dye my own roots and full hair for years with a drugstore brand. I would select dye colours that were auburn or brownish shades close to my natural hair, except with grey roots lol, BUTTTT over time my hair gradually turned as black as yours. 😮
I had to go to my hair stylist who over time had to strip my hair from black to a lighter shade. I agree with you, I don’t like going & also paying the hefty price every 7-8 weeks… ughhh

Hilarious how she is bringing Miss Piggy into this. There’s something about Bethenny, I watched her on Apprentice MS and haven’t stopped. As a kid, Miss Piggy was my Bethenny! Haha! Loved Miss Piggy since early childhood. My parents hired her to come to my 2nd birthday and I cried in my room. Scared because it was an adult height Times Square version and not the real muppet. 😘

I love how positive and informative you are. Just down to earth.
I've tried doing the root-chasing touchup myself, and it never works well. It is WELL WORTH taking the time to fully section your hair and do all your roots. Over time you're going to have more greys and you're not going to be able to pick and choose, and you don't want to color roots twice. So just do it the right way once. And then you're done! I also recommend going one brunette shade lighter than you think you should when over 50. Dark brunette shades can read black and too harsh to the eye.

Love it i am 44 years old and leaving my grey hair two inches already. I have a video on my channel v cosina on youtube dying it. It was ok when I dye my hair at home, but I am skipping it for now as my hair is getting very thinner. Love your videos keep up the good work. ❤
