If you look at album liner notes over the past few decades, you will see that Venetta Fields, Clydie King, Sherlie Matthews were backup for so many artists. They were all in high demand.
So damn good. Venetta and Lindsay's backing vocals always harmonise so well to showcase John's voice. But this time John and Lindsay letting Venetta shine. There are also clips where Lindsay gets to shine. John always showcasing everyone who works with him. I love the little proud looks they give each other in this clip. Their love for each other is so obvious.❤️
venetta is american who made australia her adopted home. she has sang with pretty much every great there is going back to tina and ike turner. so lucky she calls australia home
John Farnham made his first public appearance today (since his cancer surgery) at his son's wedding. It was heartwarming to see him and see him smile. (June 18 2024).
When’s the last time you saw an artist feature their “backing” artists. All 3 are prodigious talents but Vanetta has a truly impressive list of bands/artists she’s sung with. Her Wikipedia is short but well worth a read 😊
Me again lol. Venetta in the red dress was an Ikette. You can pick her out in the old vids on UA-cam, before she left USA to live in Aus and sing with John. John’s still slowly on the improve. Ah, as I type this I can hear Venetta and now John, now Lindsay joining in - 3 together absolutely stunning 💞
Vanetta Fields is quite simply the greatest backup singer to ever draw breath. John knows this, and graciously permits her to showcase her extraordinary talent. Her deep admiration for him shows clearly in this clip.
This is the greatest version of this classic, gospel song. John’s standing several feet from the mic and his powerful, epic voice just resonates through. And vendetta and Lindsay amazing job also.
I’ve heard/watched this clip so many times and absolutely love it. When Lindsay comes in, it is his and Vanetta’s voices that you can hear most of the time. John is still far from the mic and sings a lot towards the audience, so his voice gets drowned out, apart from that beautiful high note and a bit right at the end. I always want to hear his voice a bit more 😔 Great reaction to the clip (and each other...love you guys❣️)
Hi Angie and Rollen, So glad to see another John Farnham reaction 😄 and was so worth it seeing both your faces when John started singing.. such a joy to see other people feeling and appreciating his rare talent as much as I have for so many years ❤️ Love you both and can't wait for more Farnham
Still my favourite of all the vids of The Voice. Went to the concerts way back and I can tell you that live it's even better. Wish these people would get together again just one more time for an encore performance.
That’s what I’ve been saying all around. Powerful voice & stage presence. John is simply the G.O.A.T! I keep saying it because it’s true. Now the rest of the world is catching on. Sis & Bro great reactions. I know you’ve done Loves In Need before, but there’s a special version that John does with the entire band from the Chain Reaction concert series. I will send you the link.
I'm okay if I never hear that song again in my life, just my opinion. Not a fan, especially when everyone sings it. Not sure why so many like it but not my cup of tea.
John’s stellar performance of “Gethsemane” from Jesus Christ Superstar is something quite extraordinary. If you’re interested in some other remarkable Aussie talent, check out Marcia Hines (cousin of Colin Powell and Grace Jones). Everything she’s ever recorded is amazing but her personal favourite is a cover of “Fire and Rain”, James Taylor loved her cover too. Jimmy Barnes, Renee Geyer (1970s live performance of It’s a Man’s World amazing), Kate Ceberano, Katie Noonan. Kate Miller-Heidke’s performance of “Gravity” representing Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest, anything by AC/DC. Also Tommy Emmanuel’s crazy guitar arrangement of “Classical Gas” - insane live performance in a studio. All of these artists’ live performances are amazing. 👏👏👏👏🥂🎶🎶

The name 'Whispering Jack' came about after John was introduced by a jazz club host in America as 'Jack Phantom'. Following that, he called himself 'Whispering Jack Phantom' while doing a running commentary of a local pub pool game. He was inspired by the nickname of 'Whispering' Ted Lowe, a famous snooker and billiards commentator on the BBC show Pot Black.

Hey you❤️🔥🙋🏻♂️, how have you been?
The look of love when they look at each other , says it all, and why john and his band is so good.
Yep We all know how good they all are .
How lucky we all were growing up to this quality.
Brings tears to my eyes.....just awesome
venetta is american who made australia her adopted home. she has sang with pretty much every great there is going back to tina and ike turner. so lucky she calls australia home
This performance highlights Venettas vocals and how awesome she is. Always gives me goosebumps listening to this especially when John comes in
Best version ever. Anything Farnham related is going to knock it out of the ballpark.😊
He does a premix with the mic..managing the mic to control the sound before the sound guys even get at it. Pro right there!
It’s the closeness of the arms around each other that gets me in this. Great professional respect and great personal friendship.
Good vocals. Venetta and Lindsay really good
John Farnham made his first public appearance today (since his cancer surgery) at his son's wedding. It was heartwarming to see him and see him smile. (June 18 2024).
Vanetta and Lindsay toured with John for decades. Love them.
You can see the admiration and love between them all.
exceptional voices.. John always brought his backing singers to the front to show off just how good they are...
When’s the last time you saw an artist feature their “backing” artists. All 3 are prodigious talents but Vanetta has a truly impressive list of bands/artists she’s sung with. Her Wikipedia is short but well worth a read 😊
Yes! I put her wiki info link in the description!
Glad you got to hear this one... Very powerful and you can see the joy they get singing together.

This is the America I remember !!!
John always acknowledges his backing singers and treats them like family, check out angels with Lisa and John
Simply beautiful!
Venetta was part of the Blackberries who sang with Ray Charles and Steve Marriott's Humble Pie. She has pedigree.
Thank u for doing this. Been wanting u to watch this for ages u cuties.

@@gavii71 It's John 😍😍😍
@@reactiontalk sent you a pic in the email!😋😋😋
RIP Vanetta......I heard somewhere that she was once one of Tina Turner's back up vocalists...
Vanetta is alive and well and teaches singing in Queensland Australia
Try John in earlier days singing “Bridge over troubled Water”

Oh Thanks Rollen 🙏🏼👍❤️
John = Jack in British / Aussie culture ; so Whispering Jack as album
