Would be good to also offer it in a rechargeable version.
That and good price point would make them killer money, I’d buy one more so wanting it than needing it, already have great edc torch
Battery version definitely has its pluses as well
The Mecarmy X1S is a tiny twisty in titanium (also comes in copper, aluminum, and stainless steel) with TIR optics (i really like this beam pattern for EDC use) and a rechargeable 10180 Li-ion battery. Only Micro USB, and it is not possible to use the light when charging...
Size = 45,1 x 14,5 mm / 1,77" x 0,57"
Low mode = 8 lumen according to manufacturer - 12 lumen according to 2 online resources - good for 2 to 2,5 hours of hiking, according to ME. At 3 hours it looked like about 3 or 4 lumen.
High mode = 130 lumen - after 30 minutes it has dropped to about 3 lumen
Charging was exactly 1 hour after 3 hours on low mode, but ill probably never run it that low again, so i guess 40-50 minutes is enough after 2 or 2,5 hours on low mode.
Normally i find 2 modes very limiting, but in this case the low mode is such a good brightness for pretty much any situation, while the high mode is as easily accessible as it is on the Nitecore MT1A (used by NATO - and i can definitely see several reasons why they chose this). So in this case i actually enjoy the simplicity of only having 2 modes. No moonlight, but i dont really want that unless im in a tent, in which case id not use such a tiny keychain flashlight anyway. SOS mode could have been nice, but considering that id only use this as a backup flashlight when im out hiking in the wilderness, i still prefer the simplicity of only having 2 modes.
I am here after seeing YSMART MQ3 kickstarter. Good to know Ysmart is Crispy Things approved :)
Thanks for the honest review
I think my wife and daughter would love these.
Very cool but needs to be rechargeable.
They need to make them rechargeable for me to be interested
For me I would rather have it so I can drop in batteries whenever needed.
Looks like it would be difficult to reattach using only one hand if it was hanging from a belt loop, especially underneath a jacket. Too, the magnet might attract a steel key ring. Too many negatives for me. Thanks for the video.
I did have issues at first reattaching but after a bit it became effortless.
You have a good point with the magnet around steel keys. If you have anything near this light that’s steel, it’ll cling right to it. Luckily most of the items I carry near this light are aluminum
Olight imini smaller
Good video straight to the points
Aaaahhhhh button cell
Im out 😂😂😂😂
Dam that’s pretty sweet but the price is killing it for me.
I prefer the rechargeable (Micro USB) Mecarmy X2S with a 10180 lithium battery...size about the same.
What I dont like about keychain accessories with strong magnets is that they will slowly magnetize and mess up my mechanical watches.
Not sure how that would happen, less still carrying pocket watches
That style has potential but LR41/LR44 batteries are a huge fail for a 2022 design! They are alkaline. I had a tank007 E15 AI flashlight with those that leaked all over and ruined the flashlight. Do you really think its 100 lumens? tank007 E15 AI is also 100 lumens with a TIR optic but it seemed like the 100 lumens lasted about 5 minutes and then it was much less.
I was so committed until I saw they aren't rechargeable. Great design otherwise.
I doesn’t come with with a key ring or batteries?? How many do they want for this cheap thing??
Hi! I really like this small flashlight, and of course I perches it, but O M G!!!!, I can’t use it because it’s not working!! I tried everything, I’m in everything, different battery and put them in different configuration, but men, it’s not working!! By the way, I got them 2 ( titanium) I’m sorry, I’m telling you this, but maybe you show the video how you put batteries in it?! Sorry again, and thanks!
Will the "brass" version rust? Which version will sustain longer?
100 lumens on botton cells? I'd be surprised if it makes 10 lumens. I'll bet $1,000 it does not make 50 lumens.
What watch are you wearing? Dango dapper?
You got it!
@@ChrispyThings is it possible for you to do a review on that watch and the spec ops?
Not the best option out there. Magnet on/off feels gimmicky. Lack of low lumen mode is a dealbreaker as many people use these to read menus in dark restaurants. I’ll pass.
At this point just use your phone light lol.
You miss the point. This is for EDC.
@@davidp8516 So get an i3T with a 10440 battery and get a real lightstore while staying light
