    As an ex defence member, I can proudly say that I’m very proud of our special forces. We may be a small army, but we’ve got the best of the best when it comes to the men and women that serve.

      You've got the "best of the best". Really? You have the "best of the best" when it comes to Australians and your SF/SOF forces are very good and well respected. But there is no single "best" unit. There is a level, a strata of best units and the SASR and your Commandos are right up there among them. Right along with the Israelis, Polish GROM, the Norwegians, the U.S. Navy's DEVERGRU, the brit SAS/SBS, the U.S. Army's Delta etc...
      Much also depends on the environment a unit is put into and what the mission is. Would your people be the "best of the best" in the arctic when compared to say....the Norwegians or Swedes or Finn or Russians? Probably not. Since those folks are born, raised and live in that environment. There is no single best unit.....

    Please tell that that's not the longest that they have to ruck. Only 5km at 40kg? For us Americans that's just over 3miles at 88lbs. I know for U.S. army special forces selection there is a gated ruck after a 3 day FTX, 28 miles and ruck weighs upwards of 100lbs. Not timed though.

      yeah its not, they do heaps of longer multi day hikes. This video is just the prescreening for selection into SF

      thats to see if they can even be allowed to be selected, there is much more vigorous training during selection.

    • @vman4220
      @vman4220 4 роки тому +4

      Just a pre -screen that is timed. 15k stomps are norm in the regular Army at 45kg so this is not even close to the selection requirements

    OMG I thought this was actually Australian SF training, not one of these guys could make regular US army infantry training let alone special forces so I really doubt they could make Australian special forces, SF selection takes people that are already hardened soldiers in the military that have gone through combat not Jewelers, grocers and bakers that decided one morning Hey I want to go train entire villages how to kill people and be a hardcore killing machine myself also, it doesn't work that way because even if they can make the physical aspect they have not been proven in war. The mental game is much harder than the physical

    • @tidefanyankee2428
      @tidefanyankee2428 4 роки тому +2

      Not every guy who is U.S. Army SF has proven himself in war prior to wearing a Green Beret. Yes, there are rank requirements to apply (or there used to be) so that speaks to experience in uniform and performance, but combat experience isn't really part of it.
