just a recommendation, lock your host pc to whatever fps you configured the stream. it'll be the smoothest and won't skip any frames. use rivatuner for the best results. you can also lock your steamDeck's TDP to 3 Watts so you're forcing it to use as little as possible. Good tips but you don't need to use the TDP limit. Just set it to the hz of your decks screen and it will only use whatever it needs and nothing more, forcing it down might cause latency
Better yet, use the Apollo fork of sunshine, and allow it to dynamically adjust your resolution, hz, and other factors, without needing to do maintenance/config or rely on external programs.

Thanks man. It got realy frustrating when using native steam streaming games wouldn't register steamdeck controller and would force me using deck as keyboard and mouse. This sorted everything out, thanks. Although I still don't know how to setup stream into proper aspect ratio to usebwholw screen for steam deck

This doesn't work for me, I always get the message "Slow connection to PC please reduce your bitrate" even if the bitrate on the lowest and with the lowest resolution, by the way I am using the TP Link Archer AX12 Wifi 6 Router, I have searched for solutions online and found none, and streaming to my Steam Deck from my PC is the reason I went to buy this router, I'm just confused, don't know what else to do. I wonder how your are able to stream well like this.
@@harwoodmichel hey, had this issue and it was because my pc was prioritizing its on internet connection because of an option in Lenovo vantage. The option was network boost. Vantage is proprietary but maybe you have something similar enabled. Im guessing the option makes the pc hog all the bandwidth and won’t give high bandwidth wireless connections any room to breathe. I have this same TP link router. It worked but the stream always had micro stutter. After trying everything I could I gave up and bought an Asus RT-AX82U router and it solved all my issues. Stream is smooth as butter now. Mind you I'm not using a handheld. I'm using a Galaxy Tab S9 with a modded Gamesir G8 Galileo strapped to it lol

I'm still having those black bars on the top and the bottom while playing GoW Ragnarok for example. I've set the resolution on Moonlight at 800p and created the custom resolution on Sunshine too, but the game on my PC is running at 1080p though, do I need to change it too?
Can I do this and also connect the steam deck to a different monitor and play? I also have a wheel to play racing games and can this being dock be able to send the wheel inputs to the main computer?
In that case it would be better to use a dock with an HDMI connector and plug it in directly to the monitor, not sure about the wheel compatibility though

Same just finished setting up my pc and streaming to my steam deck oled and the only thing that works is the touchscreen input and the right trackpad. Is there a controller layout we need to be using?
Make sure the steam controller config is set to be a normal gamepad + the mouse trackpad. After that if it doesn't detect the buttons press the "..." key a couple times, sometimes when I change the brightness I don't have input until I press "..." twice, kinda weird, but works here

Brother I need your advice please as a man with all the handhelds. My budget it 1300 my goal is to stream Aaa titles from desktop like poe2 and Elden ring etc for high details and high battery usage less demand on the system at home. When I travel or on lunch break the idea is for emulated stuff and less demanding games gta3 or ds1 bubble bobble etc. so I was torn on oled deck and ally x. I believe getting ally x slapping a 4tb ssd in it a 1tb microsd and putting the extra 1tb in my desktop as extra storage. Vs a oled with 2tb and less power and battery? But a better screen?…. My eye sights kinda bad so do I neeeeeed oled? What would you personally do? I really appreciate any help brother been watching so many of your videos
My desktop has a 2070 super aio and 13700kf so can handle anything thrown at it and I have 5g WiFi so I think I could stream at up to 120hz in 1080x1920
the ROG ally most definitely does not have a better battery then the steam deck. The steam deck is pretty good for emulating games though, you can also upgrade the steam deck ssd
Imma be honest... Buying steamdeck to stream using moonlight is pointless. The steamdeck already has built in Remote streaming capabilities and it does not require additional configuration using a plugin. secondly When i use moonlight its always with my G-Cloud cuz that device is more comfortable to hold and has WAAAAY better battery life.
@@VyllenceGaming not useless if you want to play high demanding games like Final Fantasy 16. Also moonlight sunshine has much better connection than steam remote play with much stable connection. Use G-Cloud if you want but not everyone owns a steam deck and a G-Cloud at the same time like you do.

I've tested moonlight and steam link both from my GCloud as well as the Steam deck and while the appeal of being able to play on a remote network is nice, The biggest downside is that moonlight relies on an active display connection and does not do resolution resizing so if you're desktop has an ultra wide you're going to get a squashed stream. You can do extra work to fix this but just added caveats
1 gb of bandwith… steam deck don’t working good with moonlight he says down bitrate i have 25 mbs choosen! With steam link… zero problems! And super high bitrate! Steam deck its very sad..

When sleep deck goes to sleep my game on pc freezes, and some times the controls don't work with steamdeck being only accepting trackpads

Is starting the application what launches the server on local host or is the server always running?
As long as Sunshine is running, it will be available to access from Moonlight, to stop the server, close Sunshine on the host PC

Does the resolution of the PC need to be 1900x1200 in order to do supersampling on the steam deck? My pc monitor is set to 1920x1080 by default.
That's if you want to stay on 16:10, you can also do 1920x1080, but you will have black bars at the top and bottom, you can also de 1280x800

You should be fine at 800p, just lower the bitrate and consider h265 as the encoder so you get good image quality at lower bitrates

Hey! Yeah it's a good idea so you can play at a lower resolution on a smaller screen, but don't expect 60 on new games

Just by setting the resolution to 1280x800 or 1920x1200 in your desktop and in-game, it will look correct on your Deck 💪

I believe getting ally x slapping a 4tb ssd in it a 1tb microsd and putting the extra 1tb in my desktop as extra storage. Vs a oled with 2tb and less power and battery? But a better screen?…. My eye sights kinda bad so do I neeeeeed oled? What would you personally do? I really appreciate any help brother been watching so many of your videos
My desktop has a 2070 super aio and 13700kf so can handle anything thrown at it and I have 5g WiFi so I think I could stream at up to 120hz in 1080x1920
the ROG ally most definitely does not have a better battery then the steam deck. The steam deck is pretty good for emulating games though, you can also upgrade the steam deck ssd
People thinking this isn’t opening your computer to potential hackers and malware astonishes me.
Why not just use GeForce or steam link? Is this better?

Imma be honest... Buying steamdeck to stream using moonlight is pointless.
The steamdeck already has built in Remote streaming capabilities and it does not require additional configuration using a plugin.
secondly When i use moonlight its always with my G-Cloud cuz that device is more comfortable to hold and has WAAAAY better battery life.
@@VyllenceGaming not useless if you want to play high demanding games like Final Fantasy 16. Also moonlight sunshine has much better connection than steam remote play with much stable connection. Use G-Cloud if you want but not everyone owns a steam deck and a G-Cloud at the same time like you do.

I've tested moonlight and steam link both from my GCloud as well as the Steam deck and while the appeal of being able to play on a remote network is nice, The biggest downside is that moonlight relies on an active display connection and does not do resolution resizing so if you're desktop has an ultra wide you're going to get a squashed stream. You can do extra work to fix this but just added caveats
1 gb of bandwith… steam deck don’t working good with moonlight he says down bitrate i have 25 mbs choosen!
With steam link… zero problems! And super high bitrate!
