It is a cool little rig, wish it came with bearings though😅 I have always loved smale scale cars mainly because they are so practical if you can't get away from home much like myself. Many people are dedicated to bigger cars though yes. I'll take them all if I could😅
Just put these shocks on mine.Deffinatley better than stock and gives a little extra ground clearance. I am trying to dind bearings for the centre drive shafts and diff ends to replace the bushes.Maverick list the as 8x12x3 but all I can find is 8x12x3.5
Yeah awesome, they are great little shocks for quite a few cars actually👌 And I had a similar issue with the bearings, I have a drawer of random bearings and I was lucky to find some that fit, I'll have a look online for you.
@@rccrazy no probs mate and thanks for looking 👍.I have the steel dog bones and cups to fit so when I fit them I am going to take the bushes out and measure them incase it's a typo as like we both say there are no 8x12x3 bearings anywhere
Oh no I forgot about the steel shafts and cups, I got them aswell for when I do the brushless conversion video. I probably should get to that😅 Good luck, hopefully it was just a typo🤞
Good video. The oil shocks were definitely better. I don't think that the stock brushed system will have a problem handling 3S. That is not cool about the diff messing up like that. I would think that it should be able to handle more than that.
Oh no the stock 2in1 board would surly share some smoke on 3s I think😵 Sorry I worded that a little wrong as I did mean just the stock motor but with that little 3s Hobbywing esc, I don't mind if the motor fries. And I'm right there with you on the diffs, can't even pop a wheelie, cheese diffs😆 I believe the bushings have already started wearing the diff housing therefore moving the gears further apart so HOPEFULLY bearings and shims stop anymore damage and I can keep using this original rear diff🤞 Thanks Tim!
@rccrazy oh yeah, I wasn't thinking about that 2 in 1 board, I was only thinking about the motor itself. LOL Yes, hopefully bearings and shims help the diffs.
@rccrazy Well, I could have worded my original comment better. Nobody is a mind reader. LOL Yes, with as inexpensive as bearings and shims are these days, one would think that they would be included.
Always the way isn't it, fix/upgrade, test and break😱🤣 Got a kind of Grom vs Atom skatepark vid finished so that first then we gotta go brushless! Thanks Michael🤘
so i own the riaario version i got it last year on a sale in the uk for 30uk and as you said its a cool little truck ive put in 2445 and used a deerc 45amp esc and hit 24mph on the ion battery that came with the car will test it this summer on 3s but wishing for 30mph ill be happy with that as the pinion is so small 😂 ...i also own the 1/16 version but it has all plastic diffs but banggood have just brought out it with all metal on a brushless system
@@rccrazy i aint used it much to notice anything yet ..my bushings on the diff case dont move ..only downfall i have is on mine is the wheels they aint got the pin and hex system:(
@@rccrazy yeah very strange....i only brought them as was so cheap lol 😆 on my channel ive put a video up for you so you can see what i mean about the hexes .....i cant wait to see yours full brushless lol 😆
No, thank you! I never even thought of them for the Q117🥹 They are around 55mm from eye to eye and 65mm is about maximum for the SCY 1/16 cars so PERFECT I think for the truggy wheels👌 Thanks you again Zac, I need to try it aswell😁
Definitely a great option yes. And I'm not sure where you live but here in Australia they are around $55aud posted, that is cheap for the quality, they are amazing little shocks. Oh and yes they come with oil in them.
@@rccrazyrighto thanks I'm aussie so yea I'll get them from metro hobbies next pay check lol thanks so much as I was playing eith my scy brushed this morning and just thought that the stock friction shocks were so bouncey and needed a better option I'll buy them through that link that's in your description thanks so much for answering me
Yes the stock scy shocks are actually some of the worst I've had😅 These maverick shocks will be much better! And you are very welcome mate, if I can help I'm more than happy to🙂
Have any ideas on how to fix the shocks from not wanting to compress on the maverick atom? Been looking for new ones and they are on the other end of the country
I could take a guess but there isn't that many things that could cause them to lock up, bent shock shafts maybe. I have noticed with some of the friction shocks, once sand and dust gets inside them they tend to lock up because of excessive friction from the dust between the shaft and shock body.
I used to not like small scale cars but that one impressed me. Pretty cool.

Yes shims, greese then 3s brushed on stock set up
100% mate, and if it survives then we HAVE TO go brushless🤘😅
looking good there lol, nice spot
Almost too fast for me😬🤣
Thanks Noël👍
Cool little beast. It go like shit off a shovel with a brushless system mate. 👌😆
It will be a tumbler I recon, standing backflips🤣
Just shows how easy it is to please me though, I had a blast and it only does 21kph😂🤦
Thanks mate
@rccrazy standing backflips for sure keep the videos coming mate 👍

Hey Happy 30th mate🥳🤘
Hope you didn't get into too much trouble if you went out🤪
Upgrade one thing something else breaks oh man lol
Looking forward to the brushless upgrade

All I would say is keep a ear out for any diff noise as mine started stripping on the stock system, brushless will destroy them without shims😬

When are u gonna do a brushless conversion?
Not sure to be honest, it's doing great on 3s brushed so I was going to leave it until the motor burns out
