As long as a tiller is, they are way more maneuverable than a straight frame truck. But the added headache of having to "qualify" EVERY member to operate the tiller is pretty much a automatic disqualifier. Nice vid.
The RAC unit is only sent on working fires and extended incidents where rehab of of members would be needed. It doesn't respond to assignments like an engines and trucks would
Armyconrad no it's not it's literally a Balanced assignment.. certain amount of units going on that call is the closest Units responding... if RAC2 isn't responding Its not a full House.. all it is, just a Regular Call..
That is the RAC unit. It only responds to major calls. Under FDNY dispatch, it's only one is dispatched per 1st alarm. So it's rare to see, so the engine and ladder are considered the full house.
The RAC only responds to major incidents. The engine and the ladder are the primary response vehicles, therefore I call thos a full house run. If you really want to nitpick, then yes, if the RAC went, it would be a real full house run. But for all intents and purposes, engine and ladder is full house.
Great Catch!
Thanks
What I love about the FDNY is they don’t rush to leave. Their uniforms just hang off them and they don’t care what they look like.
They seem well manned. A lot of guys on the trucks. where we are they struggle to have 3 or 4.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that there's a car smoking on Jamaica Ave? I guarantee you it wasn't smoking any normal cigarette :P
Agreed lol
If you state a full house run that is for every truck not just engine and ladder. All trucks should go including the utility.

Gary198101 your right

1:14 What kind of engine start was that?!
The beep was the tillerman letting the chauffeur know that he was in his seat and ready to counter-steer.
@@FL92002 I see.
would it be marked as a hoax call?
Why send the ladder truck on a car fire?
The apparatus itself is used to physically block the road. The personnel are utilized as necessary.
A full house would be every unit goes, not just two.
RAC 2 is cross staffed only when needed. So technically it is a full house response because all the main frontline companies responded.

That's why Sheffield Avenue beats them in🤔
any for Harlem and what year did the FDNY stop wearing hip boots
Early-mid 1990s is when they got pants
Um there is still one truck
