I recently bought the LAOWA 15mm f2.0 Z mount used for a good price and I am quite happy with it for architectural and indoor photography. The lens really doesn't distort at all and at f2.8 the image quality is perfectly adequate in real life for my non-professional purposes. It also seems to me to be hardly bigger than the TT-Artisans with f4.0.
So .. as someone who has a 17-28 2.8 I can’t see how much wider would a mere 2mm be!? Surely it can’t be that much of a difference. Yes the 17-28 is much more in terms of cost.. but .. af and the faster aperture just seem like a much better and use more often option. For a cheap alternative though solid choice I suppose.
No ultrawide fungi pics?🤣 I have the 12mm f/2.8 aps-c from them for the Z50 gives me 18mm ultrawide, when I stop it down it gets better. Brought it to just use for daily carry if I am out and need something ultrawide. Didn’t break the bank either. Still need to try it on the night sky. Thanks for sharing with us! Truly hope your Easter was blessed and wonderful🙏🏻📷

Unlike long lenses - When you're talking ultrawide every mm is significant.
Although some lens makes (mostly chinese) seem to fudge the figures ... 🦘
I own the 17-28 2.8, and I agree!
2mm change from 17mm is nearly 12% - not a trivial amount...

And you can focus the 15mm LAOWA lens down to a very fungophilic 15 cm, which is really close in front of the lens! 😉🍄
Stick it on F11/ infinity and shoot down to 1/15 carefully with the 3 stops in 6/7 bodies no problem
have you reviewed Nikkor 85mm f/1.2 for Z-mount yet?
Still waiting for one to try out, but we will as soon as we can!
Excellent
...and don't forget Laowa 15mm for Z mount
We've yet to try that one but hope that Laowa might be interested in letting us test it out. We've heard good things though!
Where did you disappear last friday ?
It was a long Easter weekend here in the UK so we were on a brief hiatus but we'll be back to normal from this Friday
