Thank you so much for this video. My 4d56u knocked and replaced main bearings,Conrod bearings, new oil pump, new rings.Engine started well after an overhaul but oil light kept illuminating.Bought second pump to no avail. Was very stressed cause I had spent a lot on the car.Had also bought a new turbo which was damaged. It was only after watching your video that I realised my oil pump is okay but the oil cooler. My oil cooler was clogged full time.Replaced it,started the engine and light went off.Am the happiest man today.Thank you so much!!
Thank you for taking the time to go into so much detail, on this series your attention to details is a pleasure to watch and learn from I have an l200 with this engine in it and this series is really helpful, great idea to relocate the cooler and use a second filter, thanks from the Uk
OK, I have now tried this setup & it works well except that my 4D56 doesn't like the second filter. It seems to starve for oil with two filters, so I Just used the remote cooler & it works great now especially with the remote cooler fitted away from the exhaust manifold & turbo. It has dropped overall temperatures by at least 10 degrees C
Thanks took me a lot of searching to find a video on Mitsubishi oil filter housing! I need to change it without removing or overhauling the engine. I broke it by tightening the pressure sender too much…. Any tips?
hi, no. we have replaced the engine cooler with a remote filter then cooler then original filter. this will reduce the oil cooler getting blocked. see ua-cam.com/video/teKuIOb3_IU/v-deo.html cheers
@@YepThatsIt Cheers, which remote kit did you use? Just need to know which kit has adapter plates that will fit on the cooler mount & not interfere with the oil filter. I have a 4D56 T & the standard oil cooler was giving me grief because it was partially blocked. I bought a cheap ebay version which is not much better than the blocked OEM one. So, I would rather get rid of it and replace the standard oil cooler with a remote version if one exists off the shelf.

hi, try remove engine mount and jack up that side of engine for better access. always and always remember safety first. cheers
What's your thoughts about a chemical soot cleaning to remove carbon instead of removing components and cleaning them?
if it works, then no worries. cheers
How does the blocked oil passage overheat the engine though ?
hi, low lubrication = more friction = more heat. cheers
So the oil to the vacuum pump is no longer filtered or cooled, is that right?
