I have a question. I bought a condo hear in Cabo several of my neighbors have hired attorneys to close for them .Do you feel an attorney is necessary for closing ? The developer seems legit .
Hi, Ken! Congrats on your condo!! Yes, you should absolutely use an attorney to help with closing. Here we normally use two attorneys for the closing. The first is what we call a closing coordinator. This attorney gets all the paperwork ready, runs the title search, coordinates with your trustee bank, etc. Then, when you close, you must do so with a Notario. A Notario is also an attorney who has been granted special permissions and responsibilities to close real estate. They are kind of one step above a regular attorney. Best of luck with your new condo!
