Digital Voice Court Reporters are now using the PCM-D10. We use an XLR to record our voices. I hope I can get both voice and the room track. How do I do that? I just purchased this recorder and will test that it can record two tracks simultaneously like the Morantz recorders. 11/27/23
Bought this last year, the main thing that REALLY bums me out is you can't record the built in Mic AND a shot gun through the XLR. Recorded some ambiances at a park/mountains with wide stereo can't also use the shot gun mic. Very frustrating and would have paid extra if it had the ability to record 2 or 4 channels simultaneously. And it is HUGE compared to all the other handheld professional recorders out there. But over very happy with it. But the size will make it really hard to take it to a busy bar or restaurant and place it on a table for ambiance and be inconspicuous
Check the manual here: www.sony-asia.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4744/4b0ee500c8a184318d59e9db8233f72a/47445281M.pdf "You can establish a wireless connection between a Bluetooth audio device and the linear PCM recorder and listen to audio from the Bluetooth audio device. However, you cannot monitor the ongoing recording with the Bluetooth audio device. Use the headphones connected to the (headphones) jack on the linear PCM recorder for monitoring." So you can listen to a playback but not realtime monitoring
Yes, d10 have more background noise where you listening the music, I mostly use MDR-EX800ST with this recorder, my zx300 is more silent than d10 Maybe the Signal to Noise Ratio of d10 is lower than d100
I only know it only available in Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan will release in these few days, but other counties haven't announced when will release at this moment.

Can you monitor the recording using Bluetooth headphones (such as the Sony wh-1000xm2)?

Hello🙋
awesome👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💜💛💚💙
I heard pcm-d100 has less noise than this d10? Do you know? :)

how does it sound compared to pcm-d100
D100 is still better as D100 can produce more power on the headphone output, but the sound on D10 is a bit more purity than D100
No DSD recording ?
Yes, it doesn't have DSD recording...
Can you connect it to DSLR while recording video?
Yes you can use 3.5mm to 3.5mm port to connect
D10 use line out port and mic port on DSLR but you need to tune the input volume on your DSLR
