My friend has a great Chris Farley story. It happened in 1997, a few months before Farley died. So, my friend, whose name is also Dan, is from New Jersey, but his dad is a professional guitarist and lives here in Chicago. He would spend the summer here with his dad, then go back to Jersey when school started in September. Until he met my friends and I, he didn’t really have any friends in Chicago. He would basically just hang out and smoke weed with the guy in charge of the parking garage of his dads building. His dad lived in an expensive high rise downtown, close to where Chris Farley lived. Dan’s dad had to go out of town for a gig one weekend. A friend of his dads, I forgot her name, she was in her 30’s and really cool. She was Dan’s friend just as much as she was his dad’s. Just friends mind you. In fact, his dad had a girlfriend that was an ex-Playboy bunny. She was rich, and would give Dan $100 for pocket money, as she called it, every time she saw him. She was nice to me too. She would take us to restaurants and stuff. Whatever, back to the story. So, this girl offered to take Dan out to dinner so he wouldn’t have to be alone while his dad was out of town. This girl also happened to be good friends with Chris Farley. The day before they were to go out, she mentioned to Chris Farley that she was taking a 17 year old out to dinner that weekend. Farley got hyped on the idea of taking a teenager out on the town for a night of debauchery and basically invited himself along. When she told Dan about it, he could hardly believe her. The night came and sure enough, they walked over to Chris Farley’s apartment in the John Hancock Tower on Michigan ave. Farley’s apartment was super cool. He was super cool, and he was wearing a Chicago Police Department leather jacket. Dan went to the bathroom before they left for the restaurant and saw this ashtray just stuffed to the max with half smokes joints. Apparently Farley would roll and smoke a joint everyday when he took a sh!t. Dan was a stoner, so he was curious what kind of weed Farley had. Surprisingly, it wasn’t that great. It was some regular mid-grade. Regs, reggies. $30 an 8th kind of stuff. Honestly, some good mid-grade weed has always been my favorite, but whatever. A town car service drove them to a steakhouse called Gibsons. The place was close enough for them to walk there, but Chris Farley wasn’t about to be walking there, or anywhere for that matter. Once there, he kept ordering Dan martini’s, and was constantly saying, “Danny my boy!” every time he talked to Dan. “Danny my boy, how you liking that steak?””Danny my boy, you need another drink!” “It’ll put some hair on yer balls!” Stuff like that. After eating, they moved to the bar. There where some women there that Farley knew. Dan called them Chris Farley’s groupies. A bit older, they were what we now call Cougars. Hot Cougars though. Plenty of time before their expiration date. lol After awhile, Farley invited everyone over to his place. They were there for awhile when a bunch of them, including Farley kind of disappeared, presumably to do some cocaine, leaving Danny boy alone with the with the one cougar he had been talking to all night. One thing lead to another, which then lead to the guest bedroom, and that’s when it happened. Danny boy went and lost his virginity in Chris Farley’s apartment, with one of Chris Farley’s cougar groupies. Seriously. Who the hell else on Earth can say that? I wish it was my damn story. The cougar thing kind of rubbed off on him, because he was into older chicks for years after that. (Honestly, sometimes I hated it. Having to wingman while he’s going for some older chick, and now I’m expected to be chatting up her friend when I was like 22 years old. Whatever) So that’s it. My friend lost his virginity in Chris Farley’s apartment. I wish that was my story, but it’s not. RIP Chris Farley. A proper legend in his time. 🙏✌️
