Man you don't know how much I love your channel. When you step inside it is like stepping into a time machine. Just wish I had the money and storage space to own some of these beauts
@@KGFClassicCars thank you for your great work on this channel ... I had 5 classics and got rid as I couldn’t keep them garaged so felt they were not doing well and I miss em. Had a mk1 micra, mk2 fiesta, mk2metro, Morris miner and a 1976 black Cadillac
Had a blue one bought in 1987. Very pretty. Hopeless handling and scary in a cross wind. Not at all economical but reasonably swift. Much better than the MG Mini Metro from 1984! However then bought a Golf GTI in 1990 - and that my friends was absolutely amazing…..
I had a white one as my first car. The only car I've ever driven that sent the speedo needle off the max which was only 110 in those things. The xr2's speedo went to 140 which would've been a better plan for the 1.4s!
I had an "E" reg one exactly like this - also black. I don't remember mine having a choke though ? I have fond memories of driving it. Cracking little car when you're in your early twenties.
sounds just like a golf...man that noise when you opend the door...i had e reg 1.my dad put twin webberz on it and four branch.was rapid little thing..lol
Had two of these in the 90’s. Smashed one after three weeks , had the next one for two years. Low insurance compared to an xr2. Comparable to nova 1.3sr and 205 Xs.
i had one but sold it to a friend for 150€(no space to store it) in perfect condition ,on the road not a single noise everything was replaced but metalized blue with alf bottom grey like rubber paint ,my question to you is that i´ve seen with the same colour scheme a sierra and a capri(all late 80´s) .do you know why were they all the same colour?
Correct me Im wrong, but Im sure I remember reading that these were bassicly an XR2 with a 1.4 instead of the 1.6 engine and even the engine was the same engine as XR2 only differnce being it was smaller????
this one was bigger than the xr2,and the xr2 was a 1.3L ,this was supposed to substitute the rs 1.6L ,wich compared to the xr2 ,had a longer and larger chassi,in the owner´s manual this was above the xr2 and being a 88 was the top of the line,no rs because it took many lifes of younger kids
@Paul Sykes what i tried to say was that not in all europe the cars have the same spec.´s, i just told what ford put in the fiesta´s owners manual ,and asked about those spec.´s in another country ,did you know that in spain there was or is a big ford factory, and the one i had was refered being the top of the line but some years before there was the rs 1600cc.´s ,that in some european countries it was forbidden to sell because of its dimensions and power, as an example the xr3 in my country as the 1.6L engine ,wich engine do they had in england?if this engine is the one that the fiesta rs 1.6L uses it might be a litle dangerous, this from factory, regards
Rui Cameira what the fucking hell are you on about you fucking weirdo. All mk2 Fiesta steel body shells were stamped out the same!!!!! The mk2 Fiesta was 1600cc you twatting idiot! I owned one!
Yeah the rust killed them I remember buying a mk2 1.4s in the late 90s for the fields and was driving it down the road from the breakers yard and the front wing flew back and hit the driver window 😂 scared the shit out of me
Thank you for the positive remarks on our Fiesta 1.4S everyone, we love it!
KGF Classic Cars so, why slam the doors so hard it almost smashes the glass?

+Chris Knight Thanks Chris. Find some space and one like this could be yours, they're only small!
My great aunt had this in red and I coveted it greatly and still want one to this day
Thank you for your comment!

Really nice Mk2 Fiesta. Thanks a lot. Always a pleasure to see new uploads from you.
Yep used to own one, red one E633 BDV. Long gone now. Loved it, not great handling compared to some, but absolutely flew along.

Looks the business.. retro but absolutely pristine
This car is the business!
wasnt a patch on the xr2 in regards to looks handling of performance, i remember driving both
Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely stunning
I always wondered why some mk2 Fiesta's didn't sound as tinny as others but some of them had an extra silencer.
I can remember lusting after one of those back in 1986.
then you drove the xr2 lol
@@intunewithcars9484 No, an Astra GTE Mk1.
@@ianhand5006 isnt there a fiesta above?
A very rare model now the 1.4 S Fiesta, looks in beautiful condition.

Used to have a 1.4L and an XR2. Good reliable cars, I had the 1.4 for 15 years before rot killed it...
I have a very rare Mk2 1.4 Ghia : ) Only 70k on it : )
Very nice. Look after it.
Same here! I have a 1.4 ghia with 65k . Only 9 on the road in the uk now!
You can get those rare red socks at peacock hahahaha
Thanks for the info!
Had one of these back in the 90's. Had more miles on it then...

+Quick Jack Yes essentially you are correct. This 1.4S had the same CVH type engine of 1392cc displacement developing 75bhp.

Had one for 12 years, died of rust, the engine was sold with 189,000 miles. Car had original clutch and gear box,
+torridcat Rust was the main killer of these cars, even though mechanically they were easy to keep going!
Yeah the rust killed them I remember buying a mk2 1.4s in the late 90s for the fields and was driving it down the road from the breakers yard and the front wing flew back and hit the driver window 😂 scared the shit out of me
beemcvee goodness, that is bad. Thanks for sharing.
Fiesta 1.4's are a dying model itself. Very rare now and will only just go up in price.
I have a Fiesta Mk2 1.4, very rare indeed!
Those were prettier cars than mk3.
We agree!
