Nice fuel test, Mike. 90 Octane with 174 miles range and only needed to fill up 3 gallons, means you no doubt had another near gallon to go, which would get you to at least 220 miles range or more on the 4.0 gallon Ninja 650 tank. That is great. Thanks for your review here. On my '21 Ninja 650, so far I reached 221 miles with .5 gallons to spare from 4.0 gallons on 87 octane 10% ethanol. I couldn't believe it but this bike with 2 cylinders can be great on fuel with a gentle throttle, no hard acceleration most times for the best range. Great job, thanks!
@@StreetMotoZ Glad you had a fun time off. Yes, I'm going for 230 as my next goal. I think I can potentially reach it on my current tank. 2 bars still left and haven't hit 175 miles yet, at about 160 now. If it starts flashing the fuel light at 175, that means I can get to 230 miles if riding gently or 60+ mpg average. On my old 2003 Ninja 250R, I reached 240 miles one time, but that was a 4.8 gallon tank. This one being only 4 gallons, is probably more fuel efficient at lower RPMs. The old Ninja 250R 2003 and 2008 had to reach higher RPMs to get up to speed. Unlike the Ninja '21 650, which is great and easier on the engine's workload. Thanks!
@@StreetMotoZ Hi Mike. I hit 233.3 miles today for the total range on 4.0 gallons of fuel, but got into a traffic jam. Luckily I made it to the station and fueled up 3.956 gallons of fuel, which is cutting it very close to the absolute limit. So comfortably, I'll say if you can maintain 60 mpg, and the fuel light starts blinking at 175 miles range, I have 50 more miles to safely travel at that pace to 225 miles without worry. After that, it's a bigger risk to run out of fuel. But it worked out for 233 miles range at a pace of 59 mpg average. So it is absolutely possible. I won't push it past that unless I can average 65 mpg, which I don't think is practical at that point on most highways and roads. Thanks!
@@BlackArroToons You have the new world's record 233.3 miles on one fillup on a Ninja 650.... I may have to try to beat it...but a fuel injection running out of gas may be hard to start even with gas?
The other day I went to a new gas station and saw a good deal of fuel, but when I got to the pump, it said 88 Octane with 15% Ethanol, which I then understood why it was so much cheaper, and did not get that fuel, though it did say good for cars 2001 and up. I would not try it on my motorcycle though. It says some engines could be damaged with 15% or more, so I'll avoid it entirely for now. Then next to that, there was one called Flex-Fuel, with something like 50% Ethanol I think. It said only for Flex-Fuel cars.
@@StreetMotoZ Thanks Mike. Yes, 10% and no more than that. I don't want to risk my car engine either, even though it's newer than 2001 as the 15% 88 said was okay.

great vide bro
Thanks vincgorilla!
Cool video!!! It is hard to tell which gas is better for the moto. My owners manual says 87 octaine with 10% or less of ethanol.
Thanks Conan! I find the non-ethanol gets better gas mileage.

Hi Frank! I just got back from a week off and traveling. Your 221 miles with .5 gal left is amazing, good gas mileage. Hope you're doing well!

230 would be amazing... I think 50-55 mph consistent will do it easily with probably 65 mpg.

Hi Frank, yes that 15% ethanol is bad! Owner's manual says 10% ethanol or less. And no way on that flex fuel.
