Welcome to the club. Lool my brush guard was torn as well, I mixed up a batch of jb weld and spackled it in. Lightly sanded and painted the whole thing with flat black fusion spray paint. It's been 3 yrs and no cracks or fading.
Cant take over a year to clean an interior? Heck I changed my water pump ,heater core o-rings , both front door actuators, found 4 bad grounds ,both front abs sensors, and almost got noise out of my radio on my 2001,and thats in the last 6 months. and the paint is faded beyond the primer. Good luck Andy. let me know if you want to get rid of it. always looking for a donor car
@@tompottiger They pop up on ebay pretty regularly. Also you can use any of the pick-a-part search engines & find these sitting in junkyards & have the part pulled...however they need to pull the interior tab as well if you don't have that....else you are going to be putting some bodgy fix-its on.
If you still looking for a genuine P38 warn winch cover , let me know. ( I fitted a £30 eBay universal wireless remote winch ,30 yrds operational range, to my P38 original Warn winch ) . That NAV is not genuine 😬 I would recommend Evans waterless engine coolant treatment for trouble free miles 😷 Nice truck the 4.6 P38 👍 * Wireless winch controler ** I also have original light guards and the original rubber wheel arch extensions ,if you still looking for offroading enhancements😎 *** Problem I'm in England 🙃
Steve, I'm very interested in the P38 rubber wheel arch extensions and original light guards if you still have them for 2000 Range Rover HSE. I'm in US, please send your $price and some pics of what you have, or list items on eBay.com.uk and send me a link to item. PDFflyer@Roadrunner.com.us Regards, and Thanks, Paul

Since this series was not continued after this episode I sincerely hope you have done the only thing reasonable with this car which is to leave it somewhere at the side of the road or, even better, dumb it into a swamp. These cars are even worse than their reputation. Land Rover is just a shitter who should not be building cars. We owned 5 different Land Rovers over the last 20 years. 4 of which were a complete write off. Broken beyond repair. By the way I have to point out they were not some untreated second hand cars, no they were bought new from the factory. I do not wish to see any LR in my life again. Just put about 10.000€ into my P38 and still everything wrong. no workshop wants to work on it. Even LR "specialists" refuse to do it. Money would be wiser invested on hookers and drugs. I will call this a complete waste of resources and will ditch my P38 any time soon. If you still own it, I strongly advise you not to spend any dollar on this and instead get rid of it as soon as possible !!! Good luck anyways
@@rogerdickinson6944 Valid question :D :D . Actually I didn´t buy any. Some members of my family did. And apparently they didn´t learn from mistakes so far.
The thing with these trucks is that they are a labor of love. What I mean is you should not buy one of these to be your only car. This is a project to work on and enjoy the process. If you plan to buy one of these and bring it to a shop every time anything goes wrong then yes that is just crazy unless you have really deep pockets. If you don’t have any mechanical skills then stay away from these trucks but if you know what you’re doing, have time and space to work on it and don’t have to depend on this truck to be your daily driver then you’re all set.
@@evilboxing1 I agree whole heartedly, most definitely a labor of love!! I am not mechanically minded which is why my 1975 fully restored Range rover is a Sunday driver, especially here in San Diego. If I really want to go anywhere and get back, I'll take my Toyota Tundra, although I will say, I am quite confident the 75 has a lot less to go wrong with it than the more modern RRC.
I do think you're being a tad dramatic, as there are plenty of fine P38s and older discos out there. Many p38s are pretty ridiculous off road as well. Many people end up with these second hand and have no idea what they are getting into so they fall into disrepair and end up being written off.
I've got a 1999 vogue SE And had it about 2 years Every few weeks something needed doing --- The P38 is the worst of the worst made by land rover --- my 97 discovery 1 300 TDI I've had 3 years bit of welding and normal wear parts like brakes 1000 times more reliable than P38 In fact now luckily I don't work on them anymore just defender and discovery ---- if you want a social life DON'T get a p38
Thanks! I'll get there in a future video. Definitely low on my priority list... I can only imagine how much the roads around here have changed since 2000!
Very much looking forward to this series. We P38 owners have got to stick together.
Lol for sure
Amen we all have to stick together

Rovers North will have all the parts you need, as will a couple of English suppliers like Paddock.
What a beauty this is the way I want a Range Rover.
Yeah Me Too I Want One After I’m Getting My Permit Ready
I love the pegasus. Am so terrified to get one though. Next best compromise in my opinion is the LR3.

Love the series so far man! Iust picked up a 2000 a couple weeks ago. It’s in great condition but I cannot find those light guards anywhere!
That's what I'm finding, too! Shame the missing piece for this one is gone. The previous owner thought he saved it, but I can't find it anywhere. :(
@@thegaragedoor1204 I've seen some remake ones on Ebay but a little to scared to trust that haha

Michael Opdahl good to know! I’ll look into that. Thanks!
Try this: they have everything:

The suspension flashes but not like that…
Looks like the steel structure of the bull bar has corroded and expanded, splitting the plastic cover. Not much you can do to repair that.
Make the tail light guards, nice aluminum ones or even steel, should be heavy duty enough to beat someone with them 👍

A typical unloved p38, best RR model by far, ditch all that aftermarket external 💩unless you are a purest covert to coil suspension.
Sat nav brains in boot (or trunk as you Americans call it 🤣), right hand side behind trim
