My internal medicine MO is so rude, I’m just 2weeks in she expects me too to know everything😣, she embarrass me at every given opportunity, she even told me what was I doing all this while that I didn’t start Housejob? Omo! Nigeria is Toxic. This video helped a lot, thank you
Like I said in the video, I don’t know how credible the information is, but the idea of squeezing out blood immediately is to hopefully squeeze out the contaminated blood before it gets into your circulation and infect you. If you have a more reliable information, kindly share so we can all learn.
@@DrChioma Apparently there is no consensus on whether to squeeze or not due to lack of research. But most guidelines recommend washing immediately under running water to encourage bleeding and with soap as well. Personally I was told that you may risk more trauma to the area when you squeeze, which may provide the pathogens more entry points. I have gotten quite a few sticks during surgery, but now I have learned to be more careful and only use instruments including when picking the needle.
This is a great video , thank you Dr Chi.
