yep, you're trapped for the next 18+ years with something that makes demands on you, restricts your quality of life, manipulates you and its problems become your problems..you often find these women who have children are needy and lonely...career minded women can't be bothered with kids, they like to work, be with their friends, go on good holidays and they have freedom, and these women who chose to have kids are fcking jealous of them and yes they do regret it but they just wont say it

I personally find children annoying. I never get that "warm and fuzzy" feeling when I'm around children or babies like I do when I'm around animals. I'm 10 and I can agree, just around other children....
Childfree is a way to get freedom.
Less from suffering.
Why I don't want children:
- I don't like them.
- I feel uncomfortable around them and don't know how to handle them.
- I'd be a terrible mom.
- I can hardly take care of myself let alone of an additional human being.
- I am an extremely introverted person and need a lot of time on my own in order to recharge my batteries.
- I have struggled with an eating disorder and depression more than half of my life and am still not recovered. Way to be an example for my child.
i hope you will face those issues and become stronger! :)

If your partner is trying to manipulate you to have children with them just because they want them, then obviously it's not worth being with that person anymore. I hope you got out of any relationship that was like that, mate, because it's nothing but toxic.
@Learner forever of course that by itself, wanting to have children is not wrong. You, by yourself, have all the rights to choose whether you're gonna have a child or not. But once you're part of a couple, this topic must be discussed between the two of you. You're gonna have to speak your mind as clearly as you can, but without trying to influence the other.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but honestly when it comes to your life choices as a couple, don't "expect" something as big as that from your partner. What you should really expect out of a good romantic partner is love, respect and support, and it's normal for them to expect the same thing.
Just communicate and hear them out, it may not be as you think it is.
Your partner does not "owe" you a child after all, even if they're not 100% against having children at some point.

Idek how will i be if i become a parent myself but sorry, if your kid(s) are hyper, super loud, messy and destructive, pls don't come to my house until they're taught with basic manners. I don't want to hurt the parents' feelings so might as well avoid myself meeting their kids at any time. I simply favor peace. And for sure, am not going to bring my kids anywhere leaving them unsupervised like some parents.

It's horrible when people bring babies on plane flights. HORRIBLE. That constant shrieking, it gives me stress AND headaches. And I have to endure it for HOURS. Like, I dunno WHY they brought their baby, so I'm not gonna argue with that, but for God's sake, at least give it a PACIFIER!
I know the baby is scared, and I respect that. But AT LEAST QUIET IT DOWN SO EVERY OTHER PERSON ON THE PLANE CAN HAVE SOME PEACE!!!

children under 7 should not be allowed in restaurants. My pre bred Havanese and British Blue shorthair cat are so much cleaner....No children here. I made my wife sign a pre-nup not allowing children in our marriage. We both retired very successfully at 52 while all of our friends and families with parasitic children leaching all life and money out of them work like dogs to keep their families happy...in some sick reality they live in.

I understand if someone loves kids and meets somebody who doesn't it can seem weird to think that someone can not love them. I absolutely HATE it when parents try to talk to babies in that annoying voice that all parents put on... One time I was at the movies and this family brought their NEWBORN and it just screamed the entire time and I just said to the mother "The kid isn't exactly going to watch the movie, why would you bring it?" I mean sure, they might have no one else to look after the baby, but they just need to consider how their newborn child will act in a place where you're supposed to be silent for 2 hours...

Never felt comfortable around kids. Even when I was a child I felt more comfortable around adults. I find their cognitive development fascinating, but I have no desire to be around them. It’s not uncommon at all for people to tell me I’ll change my mind about having kids (usually men, women generally leave it alone after I’ve said I don’t want them). I’ve even had a guy yell at me for 45 minutes that I’m “just trying to be special” by being a woman who doesn’t want kids. Now when strangers ask I’ve just started saying that I don’t want them and/or can’t have them. There’s usually a lot less follow up questions after that. I know it’s kind of bad to do that but I’m just so sick to death of people acting like I’m programmed to want kids and even though they don’t know me they think they know what I’m going to want better than I do. I’m nearly 30 and this feeling has only increased with age.

So me! I'm almost 29 and have been married to my husband for 3 years (been together for 7 years). I told him from the moment that our relationship became serious that children would be a deal breaker but happily we are on the same page. No plans for kids now or ever. :)
I went through a lot of inner turmoil before I became happy and sure with my decision. Before I wondered if all this warning of "regret" had any merit. I started liking the idea when I was a teenager and then made it a solid decision by my mid-20's. I understand the benefits and love that many people have for their children but the cons far outweigh any desire for me to have children.
If you do want to have a child then you give them everything you can and the best of everything. It's about them now, many parts about you are put aside. You're doing this to have someone to share your love, watch them grow, share traditions and want the best for them. It's not right to expect anything in return, many parents expect eternal companionship and care in their old age and that is despicable. That is not the reason you brought this child into this world and this is a burden that shouldn't be expected of your child.
I for one, do not like children. I find them annoying, time consuming, dirty, loud, expensive, rude, greedy, exhausting, and sure, they're kids! That's normal! What do you expect? I don't want the responsibility or the commitment because I just know the pros do not outweigh the cons when it comes to me having a child. I am aware of this and I take the proper precautions. I have enough anxiety issues as it is. I love my friends kids because I know them and only for short periods then I can decide when to come and go.
It's not fair for people to even ask about my procreating status let alone judge. What if I can't have children? Anyway, I don't need a child to validate my existence, to make me feel love or to deepen the bond between myself and my husband. The growing population also won't suffer without my contribution of 2.2 offspring being added to the mix as we are strong at 7 billion people rushing towards 9 billion by the end of my life time.
I like my life. I like to spend my money, use my time and make plans based on myself and my husband. Not a kid. I have the love of my husband, my friends, my parents, my furbabies and many others in my life to make me feel love and be loved. I have the added benefit of having a husband who shares my ideals and my parents are not the type to be hounding for grandchildren. They think it is a marvelous decision and they agree that not having children can lead to a life that can be just as rewarding.
I lead a very happy and fulfilled life with my furbabies and my husband (we have 6 kitties and a greyhound), I am much more comfortable and confident in proclaiming my decision than I did in my early 20's. It is really no one's business and they should not question how I wish to lead my life. I choose to be child-free and I relish it.
