WAR was a band that my oldest brother turned me onto by sharing this track with me!!! They are also known for: "Spill The Wine", "The World Is A Ghetto", "The Cisco Kid", "Why Can't We Be Friends?", "Low Rider", "Summer", "All Day Music", "Slippin' Into Darkness", "Gypsy Man" & "Galaxy."
My favorite War song is "Slippin' Into Darkness".
‘Slippin’ into Darkness’ next, sir!✌🏻
Just as a reminder: Low Rider, Why Can't we Be Friends, Summertime, The Cisco Kid, Livin' In The Red, and of course Spill the Wine with Eric Burdon. There is plenty more, Just a gentle nudge.
All good songs.🎅
He has reacted to The Cisco Kid and Spill the Wine.
Slippin' Into Darkness. The Word Is A Ghetto, and Allday Music are my personal favorites. Also check out Lee Oscar solo material (he's the harmonica player)
@@timgeary4550 Lee Oscar appeared with the Grateful Dead at the Closing Of Winterland, Dec. 31, 1078, along with another harmonica player named Matt Kelly, and a few other guests. The whole San Fran community came out for that one.
Wooohoo, this is my favorite number in the 70s , i are now 63 and can still dance to this rythim , thank you boy .
Love this song - WAR put out the hits!! Try Low Rider & Slippin into Darkness!
Now that is some funk! I am old now, but I value growing up in the time when there was so much GREAT music!
War (originally called Eric Burdon & War) is an American funk/rock/soul band that was formed in 1969. War is a musical crossover band that fuses elements of rock, funk, jazz, Latin, rhythm & blues, psychedelia, & reggae. They are known for several hit songs including "Spill The Wine", "The World Is A Ghetto", "The Cisco Kid", "Why Can't We Be Friends?", "Low Rider", "Summer", "All Day Music", "Slippin' Into Darkness", "Gypsy Man" & "Me & Baby Brother".
I loved "Low Rider" then and still do now at age 72 LOL
War's greatest hits has been my house cleaning album since forever. All Day Music just personifies the 70s vibe
The harmonica player from WAR Lee Oskar made some great solo records. I highly recommend reacting to his solo tune “Before The Rain”
Lee Oskar was a vocalist, percussion and harmonica player for War. I believe that that is him playing harmonica on Me And Baby Brother.
Nice to see you smiling tonight after such sadness in life. Love to see you enjoying War and Humble Pie. Music does have the power to heal. Rock on.....
Love 'War', keep on going with them; they have a lot to say. Always feel good after listening to them, even their serious songs! I usually switch up to some Jimmy Cliff after listening to War. A little reggae is always good for the heart ❤️. Thanks, Chod, for your post!
That’s what I’m talkin bout🎼💃🏻🎸💕🎄
Love this band so much. Saw them in a small club in SF in the early 80s. They weren't kids any more but still sounded phenomenal.
Nice. I'm so glad a reactor is reacting to War. I recommend them all the time and I love Me & Baby Brother.
Grew up and love this music
OMG War is such a great band...
I saw them live a few years back here in New Orleans tabbed at the Bayou Boogie now known as the "Low Rider Band". Here's one probably no one else will suggest, all instrumental titled "City, Country, City". Hope you give it's long version a shot.
City country city is awesome! War is Coming! War is Coming! would be awesome too
This brings back memories for me as well. Driving out to the beach with this blaring. Another group I think you would enjoy is the Johnson Brothers I will be good to you. Cheers 🇨🇦
Great funky band.
Check out Galaxy by them, amazing groove.
Great tune, funky and jazzy fusion elements too. You should play some tunes from Santana's 'Caravanserai' album 'SONG OF THE WIND' is one of my all-time favorites of Santana Jazz Fusion songs. From the beginning to the end the entire album is pure ecstasy to my ears and soul. You'll love it. You also should listen to some of Lee Oskar's Harmonica solo tunes he made after WAR - more great jazz fusion...soulful.
SOUTHERN PART OF TEXAS, GYPSY MAN extended version.
Give a listen to their tracks Spirit, Magic Mountain, Tobacco Road when they were fronted by Eric Burdon!
Thank you Chod! War is an incredible group - major hits 👍 many good suggestions below. Tks for the jams 💕
CITY COUNTRY CITY LONG VERSION....MAN OH MAN.
War has always been a favorite band of mine, and they have a very impressive catalog of music you should explore. It is difficult to choose a favorite song, however the Cisco Kid is very special because him and Poncho were Western heroes of mine, when I was young.
TO go off track just a little bit -- this seems like a good enough song from which to suggest Taj Mahal for a reaction or two. Pure blues, but not as old as Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Sonny Boy Williamson etc. Taj became prominent in the 60's and still does concerts (thankfully, God has not yet taken him). I'd suggest some tracks to start with -- "Ain't Nobody's Business But My Own", "Corinna", "Leavin' Trunk", "Fishin' Blues" (especially if you like fishing!). But he's got decades of great material.
❤️ War
Chod try Low Rider.
Hey try their "The World is a Ghetto." It is stunning. Also the mellow "All Day Music."
Would love to see you do drum cover of this!
Try "four cornered room" another level
This channels awesome! One song you should check out is “A song for you” by Donny Hathaway. Highly recommend it
Check out You Are In My System by The System. It's Lit!✌
Check out The World is a Ghetto!
no one seems to catch it, the ending is sad. he's wailing for his baby brother, come back baby brother, love my baby brother. What happened to baby brother? Shot down baby brother and they call it law and order. It infers he was killed by a cop. Sometimes these reactors get caught up in the music, but miss the message.
There is a song , you get a rythim over here you get a rythim over there, i would like to know what band sing this song.
😊👍
Try Southern part of Texas.
