She is Ronnie Specter from the 60's!! She was married to the famed music producer/murderer Phil Specter!!! Eddie IS NOT a 1 hit wonder!!! He was a former NYPD officer!!
Thank God someone else knew the truth of the background BE MY LITTLE BABY ... Ronnie Spector of the Ronette's...my Mother putted that info to me Wisdom ❤❤❤❤
Thank God someone else know that's Ronnie Spector. Lead singers of the Ronette's. They sang BE MY BABY hit in 1963 64 B Pegasus reacted to the 1963 Ronette's... so I've been waiting lol til he reacts to Heuy Lewis and the News. Lol that's Ronnie singing the back up BE MY LITTLE BABY , Heuy introduces her .... "just like Ronnie said" ... that is Ronnie Spector singering and in his video .... Glad there is some brain with wisdom and reality. Luv Ya LOVED Huey I saw him in concert 1995 ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂
It's really urban legend about Eddie being an NYC cop, but he really wasn't. He was just a trainee that never went to the academy and worked as a clerk for 2 years. No real police powers or beat work or anything like that.
Ok I think I read through most of the comments and can't believe no one has mentioned what was so cool about this song. "Ronnie" is of course Ronnie Specter and her terrible marriage to Phil Specter is the subject of a movie. But what I recall hearing on the radio was that Eddie had a very altruistic reason for this song and it's arrangement. Although "Be My Baby" in 1963, and her work as lead of The Ronettes should have left her reasonably set for life, Phil in addition to abusing her, also stole all her earnings. Here it was the 80s and she was very close to broke. He wrote this song and had her sing in the chorus so that she would earn part of the royalties. He saved her from near homelessness.
Yes, this! Black Pegasus, you need to listen to the song "Be My Baby" by the Ronettes, a 60s girl group. Ronnie (the woman in this video) was the lead singer.
Did I hear her say that money called her while she was at home cleaning her toilet and asked if she would be interested in singing this song and she burst out laughing! “Hell, yes!“ Another great one with a great video is “Shakin’”!!
This song was his highest charting single, making it top 5. Two Tickets didn't even make top 20, not even the highest charting single on its own album. I would consider this song his biggest hit, but he had a bunch of hits.
Love Eddie Money!! 🙌 Two tickets to Paradise, I wanna go back, Walk on Water, & Baby hold on are all bangers!! That's Ronnie Spector, former nember of The Ronettes singing Be my little baby!
One hit wonder? I think not. In 1987, Money was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for "Take Me Home Tonight". "I Wanna Go Back" and "Endless Nights"-two other singles from the Can't Hold Back album-peaked at No. 14 and No. 21, respectively. In 1988, Money released his Nothing to Lose album, which featured the Top 10 hit "Walk on Water" and the Top 40 hit "The Love in Your Eyes". Sadly we lost him way too soon.
One of my all time favorites!! Eddie was a NY city police officer for 2 years before he decided to pursue music. So many hits, I think he took the right path!
a crazy dude from nyc told me billy joel and eddie money went to rival high schools and the fan bases are very competitive. do you know if there is any truth to what he told me?
FYI, Eddie was NOT a sworn in NYPD officer.. His dad was, but Eddie only worked at a police precinct, in an office capacity doing case filing work.. He never was a full fledged PD officer as many people think..
Take Me Home Tonight" is a song by American rock singer Eddie Money. It was released in August 1986 as the lead single from his album Can't Hold Back. The song's chorus interpolates the Ronettes' 1963 hit "Be My Baby", with original vocalist Ronnie Spector providing uncredited vocals and reprising her role.
Yes.... do the Ronettes iconic early 60s Motown with Ronnie singing lead "Be my Baby" The more LIVE looking at least performance. That song was Iconic 60s as this song was Iconic 80s and both are defining sounds of their decades as examples... at least Ronnie's for the Motown Do opp sound still part of it.
He had 11 top 40 hits. So, no, not a one hit wonder. He also had a reality show, Real Money in 2017ish that ran for 2 seasons. Unfortunately he died in 2019 of esophagus cancer. He was a heavy drinker and smoker of all things. He was 70. He and his wife had 5 children.
Absolutely, like how many times was he going to mention coffee and cigarettes?? I just thought, like us fine a** women back then would even look at him twice with that uppity attitude? NO!
RIP to both of these music legends. Sadly, they have both left us. I'd do a deep dive into Eddie Money's catalogue. Shakin and Gimme Some Water are both great! So is Two Tickets to Paradise and Baby Hold On!
Sadly Eddie Money is one of those artists who around for a long time and you don't remember how many songs he had. When he died, 3 of his songs came to mind but then more kept coming to me. I remember realizing that he had a deceptively strong career that just kind of flew under the radar throughout my life.
"Just like Ronnie sang".... Ronnie specter she sang be my baby and in this song. So he was referencing her most famous song as she sang in this song. I think you will love Be my Baby by the Ronettes. I literally just had this conversation with my husband as we watched this video. He literally said who's Ronnie and I explained this to him. He didn't know either.
Ronnie is from the Ronettes. "Be My Baby" from 1963. It was super exciting to have her do this song and video with him. Eddie is definitely not a 1 hit wonder. Hit 2 Tickets to Paradise next. You probably have heard that one, too. Baby Hold On To Me is also cool. Don't worry about Ronnie smoking. She wouldn't have been into you, either. 🤣🤣
I came to your channel for reactions to some great songs. Now I enjoy almost as much watching you have to state disclaimers 😂 for almost all of your observations and opinions. That's the state of things and don't worry, not all of your viewers are super sensitive nitpickers. Love your energy!
Eddy Money was the Band that opened the Outdoor Concert Season every year until his passing at the DTE concert stadium near Detroit otherwise known as PINE KNOB . He is missing by millions!
Friend of mine used to jam in a garage in the early 70's with Eddie Mahoney, before he became Eddie Money. Yes, that's his real name. Also in that garage jamming was Martha Davis of the MOTELS.. Good times in Berkeley and Richmond, CA back in the day. I had the privilege of seeing Eddie in concert in San Jose, CA about 5 months before he passed away.. His very rough and wild lifestyle when he was a young rocker finally caught up with him physically.. What a great loss to the music world.. By the way when he says "just like Ronnie sang" he's referencing Ronnie Spector (walking in the video) of the female group The Ronettes, who had a hit song called "Be My Baby" with the lyrics "be my little baby" found within. Go watch Be MY Baby by "The Ronettes" and you will recognize the voice in this video..
I Wanna go Back is my favorite Essie Money but this song brings me back to high school days! The whole vibe is Miami Vice. Ronnie Spector was such a beauty!
Ronnie Spector was the lead singer of the Ronnetes. She was married to Phil Spector, the record producer. Her big song was Be My Baby. She’s singing parts of it here.❤
This is one of the smartest songs ever written. To take an old song and place it in a new one and get the singer from the old one to sing on it.....GREAT !!! I saw him a few times and he would come out and sing a few songs then thank the crowd for being there and letting him live his dream to be a rock star.
This was awesome with Ronnie Specter! She is super! I randomly saw Eddie Money in a total dive bar in San Leandro CA a day or two before his Two Tickets To Paradise came out. I think it was called the Tiki Lounge lol.. The women's bathroom LITERALLY had a golden bejeweled step up throne. Damn I'm old lol 65.
Eddie Money wasn't a one hit wonder. He used to be known as Officer Edward Mahoney of the NYPD. The lady singing on the song with him was Ronnie Specter from the group The Ronnettes and she was previously married to Phil Specter. Both of them were great, but both of them are now deceased unfortunately.
Eddie was good, and I am saying this is as a person who had a weird "Eddie Money" thing going in my life. Growing up in the Bay Area, I had been to many concerts. Bill Graham was an amazing promoter and used to put fantastic concerts together in Oakland and San Francisco. His "Days on the Green" were legendary and went on for years. Bill doted on Eddie Money, and threw him into many concert line-ups. It wasn't until I moved to San Diego and talking to friends that I realised I had seen Eddie Money 9 times and never once went to " see" him in concert. It bothered me so much that I decided to make it a point to see Cheap Trick 10 times. Just so Eddie wouldn't have that title of most concerts. The funny thing is it later got to the point where it was almost a tie between Cheap Trick and Eddie Money for my most concerts. I was at a Padre game tailgating, and my friend said there was some stage with live music going on for free in the parking lot. We decided to walk over and check it out. Sure enough, it's freaking Eddie Money playing for free in the parking lot. I couldn't believe it! I eas so frustrated, 10 times! RIP Eddie, you were great, drove me crazy, finally saw Cheap Trick more times than you, but you were good. RIP Ronnie! ❤
Hey PP, I’m in my car driving and I really wish I was around to see your reaction. Maybe on another thing you’ll tell us your reaction or show it to us when you find out that just how old Ronnie Spector who is the Shorty you speak of his great song check out Eddie Money’s songs Shakin and two tickets to Paradise as well as the song take a little bit
"Take Me Home Tonight" is a song by American rock singer Eddie Money. It was released in August 1986 as the lead single from his album Can't Hold Back. The song's chorus interpolates the Ronettes' 1963 hit "Be My Baby", with original vocalist Ronnie Spector providing uncredited vocals and reprising her role. (from Wikipedia)
I love this song and I love Eddie Money’s music! That’s Ronnie Spector from The Ronnettes singing with him! “Be My Baby” was a big hit for The Ronnettes! Check out his hit”I Wanna Go Back”!❤❤
She is a professional singer. Her name is Ronnie Spector. She founded the group The Ronettes. She passed on in 2022. They were well known in the 60's. Her career was revived when she was featured on Eddy Moneys song & video " Take Me Home Tonight " in 1986.
The bigger hook in the song is BE MY BABY sung by the original Ronettes lead singer RONNIE SPECTOR (married to famous music producer PHIL SPECTOR). PHIL S WAS THE PRODUCER OF THE 60S GIRL GROUP "WALL OF SOUND". BE MY BABY WAS A HUGE HIT BY THE RONETTES IN THE EARLY 60S. Phil SPECTOR also produced much of The BEATLES LET IT BE ALBUM. The song was a tribute to the early 60s Girl Group sound. Hence, Ronnie SPECTOR. "Just like Ronnie sang"....
Longmont Potion Castle (a legendary prank caller from your neck of the woods lol) got Eddie Money on TWO separate occasions and they are both GOLD! If you ever do any content like that on here, PLEASE check it out, even on your own time! It’s so worth it lol 😂🤙
Ronnie Spector was an American singer, actress, writer, and music department member. She was the lead singer of the 1960s girl group The Ronettes, known for their hits "Be My Baby" and "Baby, I Love You". The group's style included pencil skirts, thick mascara, and sky-high beehives. Passed away Jan 2022. Amy Winehouse took her look from Ronnie.
went to High School in Nashville with his wife. Great guy and dad . He passed a little while back many great songs!! Do Shaken !!! 2 Tickets to Paradise !!! Great dad with 4 or 5 kids !
Eddie was the summer opener every year for decades at Pine Knob music theater in Michigan. Always a banger! And in no way a one hit wonder. Dude had So.Many.Hits!
Ronnie is Ronnie Spector from the Ronettes, a female group. She is the woman singing on the song. She is considered the original rock and roll bad girl prototype. Her autobiography is called Be My Baby and The Ronettes also had a hit by that name. The Ronettes had some really great music.
Baby Hold On To Me off his debut album is one to plug into. His guitarist Jimmy Lyon is highly under-rated. He later was in the Greg Kihn Band and also played with Tina Turner. "Ronnie" is Ronnie Spector, who had a 60's hit song, "Be My Baby" with her all-girl band The Ronettes. Born Veronica Yvette Greenfield in 1942, she was also made famous by her marriage to music mogul Phil Spector in 1968 and divorce in 1974. Her career slid, and this song helped her revive her career with the reference in the song. Eddie Money also featured his family in a reality TV show called Real Money in 2018 on AXS TV. He passed away in 2019 of esophageal cancer.
Ronnie Spector was a member female trio The Ronnets. Some of their biggest songs are Be My Little Baby, Baby I Love You, The Best Part of Breaking Up, Do I Love You, and Walking, in the Rain.
Eddie Money was a beginning of summer tradition in my state of Michigan. Beginning in 1992, Eddie Money opened the summer concert season at Pine Knob in Michigan for 27 consecutive years.
Late Eddie Money was born and raised in New York City. He quit being a cop 👮♂️ and moved to Berkeley, across from my hometown San Francisco 🌉. He signed with the late Bill Graham. Many hit sings in the 1970s and 1980s. Money even appeared in a music video with Apolonia Kotter, before she dated the late Prince 🤴. Late Ronnie Spector in The Ronettes sang Be My Baby. They appeared on the Ed Sullivan TV 📺 show. Their guitarist was the late Glen Campbell. Brian Wilson heard the song. He and the late Roger Christian wrote Don't Worry Baby. That song was sampled in 1998 and appeared in a song 🎵 by Garbage 🗑. The late Eddie Money and Spector sang this song at the Ed Sullivan Theater 🎥. That was a re-visit for Spector: 20+ years later! 🤯 RIP Ronnie Spector, Ed Sullivan, Glen Campbell, Bill Graham, Prince 🤴 and Eddie Money Suggested videos 📹: 1 Eddie Money sings Shaking 2 Garbage 🗑 performs Push It 3 Glen Campbell and Air Supply perform Even the Nights Are Better 4 The Beach Boys 👦 perform Don't Worry Baby.
"Baby Hold On", "Two Tickets to Paradise", "Think I'm in Love", "Shakin'" are others by Eddie Money you should definitely give a listen to. Early '80's were great years for music!
I LOVE this song - I'm usually all about the music and this song has a fantastic beat! It's awful to admit this, but I never pay enough attention many song lyrics when the beat is so powerful, so hearing your analyses are so enlightening. Eddie was definitely not a one-hit-wonder. Two Tickets to Paradise is another great song. Fun fact - his real last name is Mahoney.😀 Have you reacted to anything by Steve Winwood? "Higher Love," and "Valerie." are my favorites. Great songs, too.😀
She is Ronnie Specter from the 60's!! She was married to the famed music producer/murderer Phil Specter!!! Eddie IS NOT a 1 hit wonder!!! He was a former NYPD officer!!

The original be my baby is actually a banger
AND SPECTOR WAS KILLER.. TOOK A BEUTIFUL WOMAN. THOUGHT HE WAS ALL THAT.. THE WALL OF MUSIC ..I COULD OF DONE..
It's really urban legend about Eddie being an NYC cop, but he really wasn't. He was just a trainee that never went to the academy and worked as a clerk for 2 years. No real police powers or beat work or anything like that.
Now check out Ronnie Spectors Be my Baby(1963). That's her song in the chorus. Ronnie and the Ronnettes. Ronnie still looked good at 43
definitely need to listen be my baby!
Yeah, she did. As a teenager whenever this video came on my blood pressure rose.
Eddie Money is not a one-hit wonder. 😄
20 years of hits.
Truth.
Not even close to a one hit wonder
Ronnie is the lady singing Ronnie Spector
Phil Spector's wife and member of girl band The Ronettes Ronnie Spector offering her fantastic voice
Eddie had 23 songs in the Billboard Hot 100, with six in the Top 20, and two reached top 10. Loved his music!
That is Ronnie Spector. “Just like Ronnie sang”
NOT a 1 hit wonder. And google Ronnie Spector…

true dat

Baby hold on to me is beautiful. And it uses an augmented chord in the intro which is such a rarity in popular songs
Ronnie is Ronnie Spectre from the Ronnettes
Also Shakin'.
Love Eddie Money!! 🙌 Two tickets to Paradise, I wanna go back, Walk on Water, & Baby hold on are all bangers!! That's Ronnie Spector, former nember of The Ronettes singing Be my little baby!
What about SHAKIN?
One hit wonder? I think not. In 1987, Money was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for "Take Me Home Tonight". I'm a country music fan and even I loved Money's music

I think I’m In Love- Eddie Money. BP another banger from the early 80s from Eddie Money. Great reaction to this classic!

and his kids are taking his legacy into the future. His first daughter is the lead singer i think.
That Ronnie was the woman on the video. Be my Little Baby was her song from 1963 The Ronettes

Ronnie Spector is a legend. Her song Be my Baby was HUGE. Her girl group the Ronettes had the kids screaming in 1963.
Yes!?? React to be my Baby by Ronnie Spector!!!
Eddie Money is incredible! One of my fav song is shakin'
Oh my! I went to listen to Ronnie and just saw she passed in 2022. I didn't know. What a phenomenal star!
The Ronnettes sang a great song in the 60’s called “Be My Baby” and Ronnie Specter was the lead singer.
I've never seen somebody so obsessed about somebody who they'll never meet for smoking!
Absolutely, like how many times was he going to mention coffee and cigarettes?? I just thought, like us fine a** women back then would even look at him twice with that uppity attitude? NO!
Exactly! Like enough about her smoking for 2 seconds in the video! Who gives a shite?!
That was a deal breaker for me too!
Two Tickets To Paradise, Walk On Water, I Wanna Go Back, Gimme Some Water(he said at a concert this song was a regional hit), others as well!
"Shakin'" is another banger.

Eddie was so underrated, he's got a lot of really great tunes
"Just like Ronnie sang".... Ronnie specter she sang be my baby and in this song. So he was referencing her most famous song as she sang in this song. I think you will love Be my Baby by the Ronettes. The song was a tribute to the early 60s Girl Group sound. Hence, Ronnie SPECTOR. "Just like Ronnie sang"....
Love this song! Eddie Money is awesome! Love your reaction!
Longmont Potion Castle (a legendary prank caller from your neck of the woods lol) got Eddie Money on TWO separate occasions and they are both GOLD! If you ever do any content like that on here, PLEASE check it out, even on your own time! It’s so worth it lol 😂🤙
When this song came out, Ronnie was 43 years old...and still rockin' that phenomenal figure, and showcasing those signature moves!
Love Eddie. Two tickets to paradise is a banger too. Great reaction as usual my friend and Peace out 🙏✌️☮️
Ronnie Spector was an American singer, actress, writer, and music department member.
STILL an absolute banger!!
Shakin' is my favorite Eddie money song
I saw Eddie Money in 1979. He opened up for Santana. It was an amazing show!

Shaking is another banger from him
Eddie was a hit machine. Many great songs. My favorite is Shakin. RIP Money Man.
Ronnie is Ronnie Spector from the Ronettes, a female group. She is the woman singing on the song. She is considered the original rock and roll bad girl prototype. Her autobiography is called Be My Baby and The Ronettes also had a hit by that name. The Ronettes had some really great music.
BRO!..... Shakin' is the Edie Money jam!! No other one compares, not even this song!
Some of their biggest songs are Be My Little Baby, Baby I Love You, The Best Part of Breaking Up, Do I Love You, and Walking, in the Rain.
great in concert! had the opportunity to see him on Naval Station Bremerton supporting the MWR of the base waaaaaaay back in about 99!
Eddie Money was a beginning of summer tradition in my state of Michigan. Beginning in 1992, Eddie Money opened the summer concert season at Pine Knob in Michigan for 27 consecutive years.
"Think I'm In Love", "Take Me Home Tonight", "The Love In Your Eyes", "Two Tickets to Paradise", "Baby Hold On," and "Walk on Water"
Sonny Bono and Cher were among the backing vocalists on the original 1963 recording of Be My Baby.
RIP Ronnie Spector, Ed Sullivan, Glen Campbell, Bill Graham, Prince 🤴 and Eddie Money

Great songs, too.😀
Lol, Eddie Money has tons of great songs. Love Outfield too.
Eddie Money's SHAKIN' is great!!! must listen
