  • On today's show we're diagnosing some O2 Sensor fault codes on the 2005 V6 Mustang . Sorry for the quality , Making car repair videos is not really my thing . LOL . Just wanted to help others .
    P0130: O2 Sensor Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
P0131: O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
P0132: O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
These codes can appear when the sensors are faulty , wires are broken OR there is ANOTHER electrical issue , such as bad ground connections or current draws . .
Upon inspection I found that both Mustangs I own have had the sensor wire break or seperate from the main harness in exactly the same location . The break is located in the very center of the car , directly behind the back of the engine and on top of the bell housing of the transmission .
The engine and transmission flexes normally as it torques , the body does not and is fixed . All the other wires on the car connected this way have a small loop of extra wire to account for the movement .
This connection does NOT , And cannot flex . The wire is very short to avoid other things like the exhaust . Its a design flaw IMHO .
It's a VERY difficult place to reach . There's a metal rail attached to the back of the engine holding the main harness . Drivers side has a 13MM hex bolt. Passenger side has a metal tab end with a hole in it that fits over the last rocker cover stud to secure it and the harness is taped to it in several places . Removing that certainly helps facilitate this repair . Sorry I forgot to mention it in the video .
Hope this helps anyone else with these issues .
    Thanks for Watching .
