Great demo of creating the two parts. Putting them together in an assembly could be a challenge except for the ability to use configurations.

Indeed, the use of configurations, parametrically adjusting the mirror plane (I put it 0.001" offset so they were effectively together) or using variables could all be options to position the bodies for assembly.

What does the process flow look like in the drawing environment using multi bodies from the modeling environment?

Configurations can be used to break it down into showing one body at a time, or the default display can be used to show both bodies. Let me know if that helps.
