Ujio looked at Algren without contempt for the first time. Excellent scene. Hiroyuki Sanada does not have many lines but he did an amazing job in this role. The lack of dialogue actually makes his performance even more impressive.
@@WesleyDunn-rv8pd Yes, that...just like a master teacher/warrior acknowledges and validates an outsider who's progressing to insider and who's already shown warrior toughness.
The Japanese are very disciplined because of this simple concept. Thru training, you transfer the habits from brain to body and you keep on emptying the mind ( when its a habit, the body does it automatically) because of this, empty mind = more space for learning. This is why every Guru teaches practice and small habits. Also no mind means u are more relax, the more relax u are the better u are at doin things Genius concept
the term in japanese is "mushin" which literally translates to "no mind" or "empty heart/mind" (as possible english transliterations" "Mu" is 無... "no", "none", "null", "without", "nothingness", and "no meaning". It is used in Japanese and Chinese mainly as a prefix to indicate the absence of something. "Shin" is 心... Heart, mind, spirit, feeling, mentality. It's the center of thinking and emotion, feeling. So yeah... it's a little advanced.

Well said. He comes in as quintessential Samurai, who lets his martial prowess do the talking.
Yes...all of that.
I would go a step further and say he respected him in this scene without showing him too much respect. Great movie, great scene. I love this movie.

Totally agreed !!

Really genius, thanks bro
What I admire is the control of Ujio, to stop the katana just as contact is made. Training and discipline.
Don’t Think, Just Do - Maverick
"What were you thinking?"
"You told me not to!"
Loved the Osho addition. Unexpected and welcomed.
To be completely outside of oneself, to be outside. Its a beautiful thing to watch.
"No mind"
Jack Grealish would be a samurai legend
He’s no Brain
Love to Osho audio. Niceness.
"Don't think, Feeeeeeel!" - Bruce Lee
Bruce Lee had a shallow understanding of the mind.
I’m sure he felt all of that. … j.k.😂
The Samurai were brutal, but great warriors
They were like French knights. They bought into their own legends.
I use this line with my children whne they’re not focused on what they’ve been told. To many minds

Thank you, my best enemy
Maverick learns “no mind”. Teaches it to Rooster.
Ha!
Unexpected Osho! Good Job sir
Bro, your whole channel is underrated
His BEST movie ever.
2nd. A few good men is his best film. This movie is severely underrated tho.
That is such a great moment.
I was thinking of Kenshin from this scene.

for someone who doesn't know english well, it seems like using "mind" in that way is a little advanced

I really don't need the overdubbed discussion of "no mind".

Great way to ruin the scene with your narration.
This added words of him talking ruined a great scene.
