Tips 'N Tricks 236: When to use Minn Kota iPILOT Spot Lock or TALON

When do I use my TALON shallow water anchors and when do I prefer to use Minn Kota ULTREX iPILOT LINK Sport Lock Feature. Here are some of the places I prefer one system over the other in my One Boat Network from Humminbird & MinnKota. Good tips new to this still waiting on boat to finish build and waiting for my talons , ordered talons and still waiting 1 month now they say national back order so ridiculous

TIP: Do not use your talons while in current. Very very light current shouldnt be an issue if you are shallow, no more than 2 or 3 feet, do not use in any water deeper than a few feet, you may not be able to retract them without use of the trolling motor to remove lateral pressure off of them. Another tip, make sure to use the proper setting for your bottom type. Do not accidentally use rough water in mud, it is a pain to retract.
