Joe Lewis was the Undefeated Karate GrandChampion under his Training of Bruce Lee... as Great as Joe Lewis was as a Fighter he Acknowledged that Bruce Lee was the Greatest Martial Artist of All-Time... Joe said that Bruce HIT as Hard as a Heavyweight Fighter!
Joe probably thought he already was on the level of headliners at the time. It goes to show you that humility was a virtue. Chuck Norris definitely had it. It was this lack of humility that cost him the role of Colt that went to Chuck in WAY OF THE DRAHON. who knows? For lack of humility he could’ve been WALKER TEXAS RANGER a role where his southern accent would’ve been perfect for. Benny The Jet who also constarred in the Jaguar movie went on to act beside Jackie Chan and also became a martial arts stunt coordinator stunt man and Choreographer. All because he was humble
I have a lot of love and respect for you Mr. Lewis Whether you broke through Hollywood or not you will always be a big mega star to me You write about Hollywood they are very evil
@@worldofmartialartstelevision Agree. I first met Joe when he came to Hong Kong for the shooting of Jaguar Lives. I worked with him during his stay in Hong Kong and Macau. He was a true gentleman. After he left Hong Kong, I still received his letters and photos though he was so busy. I miss him.
@@louisali5207 Wow, that is awesome. You must have some great memories and stories, he was a gentleman indeed. It shows the quality of Joe that he managed to stay in touch with you. He was and is an inspiration.

Indirectly, he was very instrumental in being a forerunner of sorts for the M.M.A. Joe was actually a wrestler& bodybuilder which gave him an incredible edge in karate.i spoke to him over the phone in 91, very memorable conversation, though i didnt mention a word about Bruce Lee.R.I.P to both Joe& Bruce.
Joe probably had waaaay too much attitude and probably pissed a lot of key industry people off. You can’t do that especially as an unknown upcoming actor. You can already hear the annoyance in his voice when told to lose weight.
Yeah I feel you he was a little too Harsh Chuck Norris is more humble But I also feel where he was coming from not letting them fall somewhere around especially when he went in the military and served his country and he is the Godfather of kickboxing
Well I think he did pretty well to be basically a karate guy...and he’s right, there’s nothing simplistic in movie production. How many people can say they starred in a movie and work with so many veterans? Not an easy thing to do. That’s successful as hell to me.

Very clear thinking. Goal oriented, and methodical.
Funny how he tried to get rid of his southern accent but ARNOLD made his accent his trademark

If he were born in 1990 and trained in MMA, he'd be great in the UFC.

Awesome martial artist. Not a great actor. Love ya Joe, but you talk about your movie career as if it was a success?
