Well, @smurfyday, I haven't seen Mulholland Drive; didn't even know it existed before I looked up this recording. It feels very nice to listen to it without some scene from a film invading my thoughts. This is such a sweet song. Other videos display her singing it. She looks very sweet too. A 60s dolly bird. Now I'm going to learn to play it, I find it so nice.
I would usually agree with you @Alan Farr but it's not just a scene from a film which invades your thoughts, it's a deep feeling. The way David Lynch uses music in his films has penetrated into the most remote places of my being.
Amazing to think that this was a dance tune in 1932. (The Jack Denny Orchestra with vocal by Paul Small.) Linda Scott's interpretation simply hit the spot as a cute teenage angst song prevalent in the late 50s and 60s. How many teenagers at the time new it was a song from an earlier generation? I didn't. It still has that lovely innocent feel sadly lacking in so much of today's offerings. DL .Staffordshire, UK.
