I've recently picked up the 1971 version of this kit(marketed as the panzer III M/N). It's building up real fine but the age is definitely showing, it's amazing to see the difference in details from older kits to newer versions of themselves.
Great vid. I am LOVING the opening credit whatchamacallit. AWESOME. Got my 2 StuG IIIs and my Pz III delivered to my hotel room in Florida. I did bring some of my modelling tools but am too tired to do anything to them yet!
TacticalJackalope oh no.....not in Fla frequently. First time for a year. I did mention to you a few weeks ago that I got a killer deal from DragononlineUSA, and the stuff was sent to the motel on thursday. Done about a quarter of the StuG already!
I have the 1997 kit # MM-215 that comes with Panzer Grenadiers & the metal replacement main gun barrel. I'm going to have to carefully take apart everything my grandson started to build, clean it up, remove the green striped paint he did over the bare kit plastic, & rebuild it to my standards, so I'm anxious to see what you do with this. The review was great!
Thank you for watching and this is a great kit to modify as well build box stock. I hope you enjoy your build. Please feel free to share when you get started.
Great review Andy and general information well done. Although this particular kit doesn't fit into my scheme, I look am looking forward to see what you do with it :)
Try Tokyo Hobby on ebay and Micro Macro Mundo. They both sell kits for much more reasonable prices than the sites I usually go to. Also if you want kits you can't find else where try Tower Hobbies. I wish someone would make a video about the best places to buy kits at. Like who has the cheapest prices and so on. Like a video with some of the favorite sites used to by kits by the video poster. I ended up over spending for the Tamiya Tiger and Tiger II I have when I could have got them much cheaper at other sites like the ones I listed above. I got this kit For $28 plus $12 shipping off Tokyo Hobby. It is the same price on Micro Macro Mundo and they are in Florida. Things get shipped much faster.
can you hear me singing "i shot the sherman, but i did not shoot the panzer three!" haha :) great review of a neat kit, i made it two times already and would certainly not mind to build it again. bought the finnish stug III g which is based on that kit last week, it will be a subject of a rant-video soon. i see you have the uncensored decals on your kit, really cool :)
Uncensored?? There were no SS divsion emblems or Swastika's on this sheet. I am not sure what you meant. Thank you though for watching and commenting. You made me laugh too btw.
TacticalJackalope i´m pretty sure this decal sheet is censored in germany, the three black insignias on the left bottom corner are covered with a big blob of black edding. i don´t get it either!
Great kit. I still love it. Thing is, the pieces are so small I dropped it and could never find it. They aren't kidding when they say "modeling skills helpful if under ten" -___-
Ugh... That little ditty that Mike just did was horrible.... Eric Clapton will probably sue haha. Great review Andy. It's a classic kit that every armour modeller should have one or two of in their stash.
Uh.....no. In 30 secons I found them multiple places. I don't kow where you live but here in the U.S. they are readily available. www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Military_Vehicles/german-panzerkampfwagen-iii-ausf-l/TAM00035215/product.php?kw=35215
@@TacticalJackalope Thanks! I searched other online stores, even in Japan (hlj or plaza Japan) they were out, but I might’ve been looking at last box version, which was with figures. Even this version is not available at 4 major online store in Poland. You did give me a new place to search for kits though. Thanks.
@@TXGRunner They still make the DAK version that comes with the Afrika Korps figures and Rommel if I'm not mistaken. That one was always a bit more. Scalehobbyist has that one in stock as well if I"m not mistaken.
@@TacticalJackalope I will look for upgrades. Thanks for the leads on sources. I'm from Texas, but work overseas. While I built tons of kits as a kid, this is the second time I've tried to get back into scale modeling. It's a totally different market than it was in the 70's and 80's. The best (worst?) part is now I can afford an airbrush and nicer kits (which are probably beyond my skill level). I've been starting with inexpensive entry level kits (e.g. Tamiya's Pz II Ausf E/F, SAS Land Rover Pink Panther, etc.). I aspire to do some of these really nice, full interior Rye Model kits though. I ended up buying the Tamiya Pz III Ausf L with DAK figures from eBay. I'll go check scalehobbyist now and see how badly I overpaid. Thanks again,
I hope you don't mind, but I linked this review in my build log and on my blog rookiebuilder7769 on blogspot. I enjoyed your review. It made me want to buy and build this kit!!
Doug Hotaling Not at all I am honored you would like to reference it. I went on to do a beginners build of this kit in a multi-part series. If you would be interested in seeing it here is the link to the Playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLFH8ea3Bel0R9k_rUQxI-ZoGvAVtqcuHl.html

Even their old kits go so well together and that's a great example you have there to hand good review. :)
Thank you Faron I could build this kit many times if I don't get bored with it.
That PanzerIII L has, indeed has some really good detail,a head of it's time for a 1997 kit. Great reveiw, mate.
Pz III is my favorite tank of the war! It was the best tank of the war tell 1942!
I've never seen that kit reviewed.
Looks good. Thanks for sharing.
And don't stop.
You bet thank you very much for watching.
thanks heaps, just bought it! awesome video!
Just got into this kit. It does appear to be an excellent kit. Mine is missing the poly caps though!
Awesome looking kit.. I build this one a year ago.. I loved it!
One of my favorites Hendrick thanks for watching.

Excellent. I may not really NEED to see it, but I am still looking forward to the series. I hope to see you work in good length an detail, buddy!
I certainly appreciate the support sir and am always happy to have you along!

Thank you sir for watching. What scheme do you have Switcher?
Top 10 tanks of all times and top 10 tanks as of 2013
Other than that models of significance to me. Dang I 'll do a video that will explain it LOL.
Nice to know, just about to start it, but with Fruils.

i´m sorry my friend, but it is a perfect substitute for the original song text :) it is stick in my mind now haha!

OLD?...i had a 1972 Pz 3...!!!...i'm now 62...but just bought this again..yep the 70's kit was the M/N version...lovely kit though.
I'm a beginner. I went with a academy tiger1.
Rick Connel how it go?
Ugh... That little ditty that Mike just did was horrible.... Eric Clapton will probably sue haha.

I thought it was pretty catchy! Can you picture Bob Marley wearing a Feld Mutze?
Haha... Now that's bizzare! Haha
dude sorry for years later comment but ı have this kit and how can i make moveable tracks/suspension for this kit?
I have no clue.
In my opinion the panzer III looks best in panzer grey
I totally agree. Panzer Grey is Germanic and more visually effective than camouflage
That Panzer has the 5cm(50mm) L60 cannon I belive
-FEW- Fernando11 ya think?
Is this good for a first build?
I would think so yes.
I have a question. what is the size of the actual model in hight length and wide in cm.
I really have no idea I am sure you can find that information on the Tamiya website:www.tamiya.com/
Is this good for beginners? Do the wheels spin?
It would be fine for beginners.
Some eBay sellers are now asking over US$100 now...Tamiya hasn’t made any in quite a while.

unless you are from Australia, decal is pronounced [dee-kal, dih-kal]. Say it with me...[dee-kal, dih-kal] (courtesy of dictionary.com
Its pronounced however the fuck I want to pronounce it and more than Australians say it that way.

lol...my bad you must be canadian. Thought you said you were from Texas. Canada usually ˈde-kəl\
