Enjoyed how you dealt with this issue , which accurately reflects my own. I have always been aware of lack of turn and getting to do it on the course after practice has been difficult as I drift back to that “over the top” follow through. I like how you make it a two part fix as I can see fixing the turn first and then follow through makes sense. I have noticed with my own follow through felt I had cramped space and this has reflected on many pulled shots. Thank you, I believe you to be the best instructor I have viewed here on you tube.
Love the backswing focus - for me, it's a fine line on feeling more comfortable keeping the hands in front of the chest and having higher hands for a straighter line into the ball and yet also keeping the pulls from appearing. I definitely need more right ass-cheek stretching back feeling - I know this was a huge thing for Jack & Tiger
Yessir! Hard for most ams to not have path too far left with higher arms. Many good players do it....get arms down in front/side bend enough to make it work!
I’ve been a long follower of your UA-cam videos and love the instructions Unfortunately I haven’t been able to put all the pieces together to fix my swing as interpreting feel vs real is never easy I purchased a tripod for my iPad, download a swing analysis app to record my swings and just signed up for a membership with you Looking forward to working with you and your staff Oh, I’m also considering purchasing the LiveView but may hold off unless you feel it will make my transition to a better swing faster / easier
How timely was this video. Yesterday at golf I was pulling everything left & kept saying to my partner Why am I doing this? Now I know! I really have to work on this because it drives me crazy sometimes & other times it is less of a problem.
Hi Eric, the 1st part is something I've been working on with my coach for the last few weeks! He had me wear the G Box for the 1st time ever, but the cynic in me just didn't buy into it at the beginning! However, I did buy into the concept of getting that white line on the box to aim at the golf ball as much as possible, maybe even further as a feel! To say I was shocked at the results is an understatement!!! It just proved how little my torso had been rotating previously! I was striking the ball crispier than KFC, and consistently adding 10+ yards with my short/mid irons, not to mention the sudden elimination of my usual sh**king!! I had the courage to enact this with every shot during the lesson, but I will add it's more difficult to believe in this concept during open competitive play! This idea/concept is GENIUS, you just need the balls to actually do it during an actual round of golf...
MAYBE....but he's 6/4 200 pounds and a super athlete! He his its MUCH farther when we does full swing. Most people would not hit it if far enough from there!
@@CogornoGolf Understand. My problem is over rotation where my shoulders stop and my arms keep going. Your videos are great. Really appreciate your effort to make us better.
Hey Alain! If you do not currently turn them enough you NEED to think about it. Start by letting the trail leg extend, trail hip up and back Stick through belt loops back to 45* a good one: ua-cam.com/video/T4qSkQnCor8/v-deo.html
@@CogornoGolf I put a chair behind me . And i try to touch the chair with the stick before the ball with the club... Quite difficult..i filmed it. Thank you Eric.
This swing looks like mine also...its confusing because you hear "take the club straight back, keep your hands in front of your chest on back swing, don't take the club inside"...when do you get the club deep?

@@CogornoGolf yes definitely confirms what I have recently been working on. Every time my swing goes left I say, got deep rotate and what do you know ball goes 20 yards further and straight
Well, Donald, I an 76, so I know what you are saying. I've been working on this exact issue, with a different instructor, and it is a challenge! What helped me is getting a stand for my iPhone so that I could see what I was actually doing on the range. I have just continued to push myself. Also helpful for me is some stretching, especially the upper torso. And, what I absolutely love about this video is that in Eric's method of instruction he shows the big picture. My current instructor had me just change one thing at a time without explaining where we are going with the changes. Now, thanks to this video, it makes sense👍
You really do need to drop the arms at the start of the downswing to make this work correctly. Otherwise you chop down on the ball I found based on your other videos.
Sorry Eric, but I found this video a bit cruel - ie - Adam Scott's a pro, who probably started golf when he was young and while his bones were still supple, most of us golfers out here who are looking on the net and even your blogs for fixes to our golf swing/s and the fact that we can not keep our left arm/s straight like all pro's makes it a bit hard for us to compete with the likes of Adam, as most of us started the game of golf in our 20/30s! I love your blogs Eric, but you should not use an armatures golf swing against a pro golfer - it's a different league Eric! So I am sorry for once in giving you my first thumbs down Eric!
I thought Eric was very kind in his instruction. Excellent points to get an amateur's swing to improve. How can we get somewhere if we don't have an example to follow?

Appreciate the kind words and support, Arthur! Hope this helps you!
Another great instruction video. Outstanding analysis of Derek’s swing and ways for him to correct his issues. Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate it!
Beat lesson ever. You nailed both my issues. Thanks!
Thanks, Mark!! Hope it serves you well!
Excellent stuff Eric...as usual. I have the same problems Derek does, so this lesson is very pertinent to me. Thanks for all you do :)
Thanks Rob! Appreciate you being here with us!
Great analysis and instruction once again. This is something I've been working on myself.

Super video on how to get more depth and height in your back swing and consequences if you don't have enough. And that is just part of it.
Thanks Harold!
Finau has a very short swing. Could you use him as an example for armatures that are not able to turn as much?

Do you think about turning your hips more or does it happen naturelly during backswing.
For me it s difficult to turn hips. Thank you.

Also has no shape, the pro has a bit of a reverse k, whilst Derek looks like he’s going to throw behind him (hips pointing backwards)
Thanks for watching and feedback, Liam!

You don't need to drop the arms...if your body is moving correctly then the club and arms will fall enough all by itself.
Hey Joe! I'm not sure I'm following what you are saying here nor that I would agree with it but I appreciate you watching and the support!
@@CogornoGolf Kind of like the practice drill that Justin Rose does before he swings. His feel.
Gotcha!!! Your arms definitely need to work down in downswing (no matter where your backswing is)
