Respect to 76yr old Bill👊🏽
Grandpa got a sick car!
😂 that's my grandad haha
BB I saw a M3 with the four tailpipes not long ago and noticed the driver was a little old lady with white hair! Hope I am that lucky at that age...
I'm a E39 owner and I love the shark nose 6 series. I like Bill's car! There is nothing wrong w/ an engine swap to make the car reliable again. Build Your car the way You want it.
Hey guys.. just saying loving all the content yous are pumping out..
All hail the best car show by far Mighty Car Mods and Skid factory.. killing the game
William Carberry is it a 3.5L turbo or 3L turbo
Queenslander love it Allan for pm lol love you're work mate
Absolutely loving it! Thanks Skidfactory guys and MCM 👌👌
William Carberry Skid factory my favourite. Go Al and Miles. Fantastic work.👍
Would love to see this thing with the boost turned up against moogs 240z.
I like how Bill thinks! This is a very smooth, slick build. I remember watching these race in the Australian Touring Car Championships back in the 80's under the JPS Racing banner and they were monsters in the Group C era. Really nice to see one in such immaculate condition - well done!
Those black & gold JPS Bimmers were the prettiest racecars ever built.
cyclonicleo Yes I remember those Black JPS BMW’s at Bathurst. 😃
As a teenager growing up in the 80's I too fell love with the Mighty Bayerischen Meister Wagen back then first with the JPS 635 of Jim Richards then the ultimate 1980's BMW came out to take on the world... the E30 M3 and I was amazed at the performance of a na 4 banger going up against the V8 Holden the Ford Sierra and the Nissan Skylines. They might not have won all race's but they still held their own... I ended buying 7 years ago a '93 E34 M5 Touring while I was living in Germany and found that the engineering and build quality and how well it drove was phenomenally brilliant even for car that was 18 years old at the time and had over 400,000 klm on the clock. It was THE best stock standard car I have ever bought. And when it was sold two years later prior to moving back home it remained stock because I felt I had no need to improve what was already a pearler of a car from the factory.
anyone could get a nice car like this built if they had Bill's money
What, no shed burnouts?!!!
What I love about Al is his down-to earth honest knowledge sharing. And so cool of the old man to spend his kids inheritance money on such a valued gift that will be cherished for many generations.
when the build is 6 years old and still going strong it just shows how good your work is!
I could watch 100 of these and never get bored
I really enjoy this channel.
Its always amazing to see how clever you blokes are. Well done
I actually cannot believe I've came across this video! This exact build (635csi 1980's with a 1jz or 2jz) has been a life goal for me, THIS is the build I've been thinking of doing for a couple of years now. Amazing!
Man I love this. There is something about making something feel factory but work like race car that makes me happy.
Making stuff feel factory make the building process more painful and rewarding at the same time
Im a BMW guy and this is a dream car! Doesn't come close to my worst nightmare!!
13:40 awww look at those happy buggers, nice
Thanks mate.
Beautiful work, you guys never cease to amaze me with the work you do.
A lot of BMW enthusiasts will, no doubt, go nuts about this, especially with how valuable 6s have become in a lot of markets. But this makes a lot of sense in Australia, and for Bill who clearly loves his autobahn stormer having had it for 30 years. This was clearly a very high spec 6 having a lot of toys that were very rarely, if ever, seen in a lot of markets until the end of the line Highline models like the power adjusted sports seats. I hope the family have another happy 30 years with this re-engineered wunder wagon...
A car like this is honestly way past just one-of-a-kind, and I think a lot of people agree it’s something they’d love to even just drive, if not own. Truly a beautiful car.
Not my kind of vehicle but I can appreciate a clean build and you did a fantastic job on that BMW.
Keep the great videos coming.
I'm really enjoying the build reviews. Thanks for the great content!
Always love Al’s humble knowledge. Keep it coming
Well done Bill. Well done Al. Good idea, right people and almost anything can be achieved. Good episode, thanks.
what a great review! love the casual style of things there - hope you guys keep on producing.
Very much enjoying the look back at your previous projects. This one is just amazing. Great job!
3 Generations nudging each other for a smile to the camera....Priceless!
Awesome that Bill is in his late 70’s and modding cars! Way to keep it young!
excellent series gents! amazing to see hundreds of hours spent on these old builds and in their final form!
I want all the skid factory cars but this one is the best of all. Amazing.
Nah it looks really gay
One of the coolest things I've ever seen. Well done!
mad build, wicked workmanship!
i love the way Al does this series! he is completly in his element and it shows! good stuff
I love seeing all these past builds. It gives me ideas for my project
Thanks again Al Awesome to have an inside look at another one of your builds.
Thanks for sharing that! Great job!
Love it!
It's testament to your engineering skills Al that a car that heavily modified can still be starting and running like a factory car 5 years after being built and driven daily
Good to see some BMs getting some attention from you guys, hope there's more to come.
metronemy Hehe bm's
Great video. Good work on the editing!
That is gorgeous. Fantastic work.
Bill the owner, is my new hero. Hats off to that guy.
Cheers for the video guys, awesome build :)
Super clean , great job!!
In my top 2 favourite cars. Great to see the work done. And VERY INFORMATIVE ... good to see Turbo Yoda hosting and giving clear, concise summaries of the work completed
Al - totally amazed at what you guys do down under. Seems like you really take it a step beyond what is going here in the States.
Awesome thanks for sharing, beautiful car great drivetrain update, love it
Great build. Great story. Perfect presentation. Honestly upon his first appearance on MCM I never thought T-Yoda would make it this far. I feed on your content. Keep it up. Hats off to you sir.
This by far is the slickest build I have ever seen by you guys, and that's saying alot! 👌
Stunning! What a beautiful build!
Great bit of kit !!! Fantastic car love it .
Thanks to the Williams family for letting us see this awesome car! Another fantastic build from AM Auto
Thank you, Al is the genius.
I was skeptical these were going to be fillers while the guys were away in the Americas. I was wrong, they are brilliant. I love Al's succinct review of why decision were made - moving the steering for instance.
Really good show guys. Content is always great to watch. Cheers
neat as! love these show n tell vids
Great work Al. The engine and engine bay look like it came straight out of the factory!! Quality work!!!
Awesome as always. Cheers boys.
Nice job. Love Skid Factory.
Superb job Al! Well done guys
Love these reviews!!
I love this show so much
You have to drive the car in these videos!
Started scrolling before watching. Man, I hate this is another one they don't drive. I'm confident they will in the future, but man it's porn with no boobs. We kinda' need the boobs.
Have you not noticed it is raining, no point driving in the rain no traction.
@@A_lesson_in_Hate They didn't drive the car in the other video either...
@@mx5moon . Because it was raining then too.
@@MJTAUTOMOTIVE Point still stands. Film another day. Gotta drive the car! :)
I had an '86 E24 635CSiA, and don't have a problem with this. Nice car, well modded. Kudos.
Excellent build, good to see old cars improved and kept running! :)
Al, that is a masterpiece, what an unbelievable car. LOVE IT! keep up the show!
I just noticed the Kramer picture in the background (0:45), that's awesome! Cheers from Austin, TX!
Absolutely awesome!
Amazing work!
What a fantastic build! As you said it looks factory! I miss my 88 e34 535i if I was not a poor ass uni student at the time I would have never sold it! Great job boys!
635CSI is such a rare care especially here in Australia. It wouldn't have been my choice to do this kind of upgrade, I'd have preferred to keep it as original as possible.
But you can't argue with the workmanship. What a fantastic car.
Looks like the Toyota Celica GT of 1978-81. New Supra / Z4 has made this a marriage officially come true, only in reverse, Toyota body riding on BMW motor. I love it all!
Beautiful conversion and I enjoyed the detailed explanation. Having had a 635CSi for a time when living and working in Malaysia, I can appreciate the detail and quality of this conversion. The Beemer was no slouch, but the Siemens electrics did not like Malaysia's weather very much. BMW cars were assembled in Sarawak at one time.
Awesome build!!!!
Beautiful car. Good work boys.
Thankyou guys great video. You can see al is very much growing in the skid factory Camera. Are you back from drag week?
Can't wait until break time at work to watch this video. I love the old landshark BMW looks.
Converting from manual to auto makes sense, the dudes 80 and its driven every day, guy was probably an ex courier/truck driver or something and knees hurt like a mother fucker changing gears. Good on him for making it easier and more comfortable. Beautiful car!
Sad to say, in some ways, I can already empathize. A flappy-paddle that works snappily (Or, even one of those Tiptronic levers or by whatever name, so something is there for your shifter hand) would be a nice compromise for a daily. ) As real sport-based cars go, I think I'm a holdout for the oldfashioned stick and three pedals whatever happens. 'I don't care if the auto is faster, this is for times when *I* can drive." :)
Exactly. Better auto, shifters and being a daily than manual and becoming a garage queen.
I don't know how much couriers and truck drivers make where you're from but he bought it new in '86, it would have cost a fortune, then 30 years later gave a blank cheque to go nuts with the conversion. Not short of a dollar
Bill was a Chemist for 52 years, before finally retiring last year.
BMW lover here, this thing is freaking awesome! Hugely impressive!
Wow. Awesome build.
It's a sweet.. slick machine .. Mad repec to you guys.. big up .. 😎 👍🏾
Amazing Job!
As usual, nice work.
What a beautifully presented, well engineered car!! Well done.
Just go's to show you Al was born a master mind. They really broke the mold after he was born...I mean created by the car gods
I've always loved this body style
Sweet build on a beautiful car, this and the E28 M5 are my dream vehicles.
Old mate Terry at TPE Hydraulics in Brisbane has one of these in OG condition. It’s amazing. He gave me an overview of it and how it was built for Le Mans apparently.
Wow that car is nice! Really love this build.
I absolutely love your work. Everyone wants big fancy shiny tubes and octopus manifolds. All of your stuff is clean, efficient, and as some of these builds have shown, they last with OEM-like reliability.
Absolutely love it 😍
When i see a video when turbo joda is on that´s a guarantee for a likable video. Cool car btw :D greetings from Sweden!
Exquisite engineering. I’d love to see a feature of this car being driven and reviewed on the road
Would be lovely to briefly chat to the owners of every build to get their perspective of ownership. Adds more to the content you guys are doing which is btw absolutely fantastic.
You can't tease us with these. We have to see it driving Al damn!
WOW this car is spectacular!!
Beautiful Keeping the old BMW alive with modern Tech and looking so stock credit to Bill for keeping and revitalizing a great car
2JZ is the obvious choice for you guys in Australia, since you have easier access to it. If the same car was doing an engine swap in Europe, then it probably would have been the N54 engine from BMW.
Barra engine would probably be a better choice if it fits
jonohaha13 weren’t really doing barras in 2012 aye
Barra = Slow revving truck engine. Not for a European car IMO.
Auto is fucking incorrect though
76 Year old owner, don't blame him
Favourite show on UA-cam!
Toyota "got inspired" by contemporary BMW inline-6s when they made their first inhouse 6... it's fine ;) And with the new Supra we go full circle anyway.
Well its inspired by M104 engine, but apparently engineers from BMW help Toyota build similar engine.
Don't remind me that the new "Supra" exists...
New supra exist and is better than previous one. Beside that true Supra purist knows that real supra ended up at 3rd gen with the last of M series engine.
I didn't even know the new Supra was released. Oh I just googled and it hasn't. Doesn't look nearly as good as the older ones. And it's going to be way too expensive.
JZA80 is a joke, even race version doesn't have 2JZ.
In contrast to Skylines, Imprezas Lancers which were champions in racing and rallying supra was just poster car in teenagers room.
A very nice build Alan😊
that is just brilliant
Lovely six series, good job on the conversation. All it needs is a set of chrome arches to finish it off.
Wow such a nice and clean build, one can se why the grandchildren want it.
The grandchildren are gonna have to wait a while.
Just goes to show the quality of workmanship thats been put into that car.. 6 years down the line and everything's still running sweet!
What an absolutely awesome car. I had similar plans for my grandfathers SSS 180B which he bought new and drove for 38 years then gave to me... then some shit decided to ram their volvo up it's arse and write it off. Glad this one survived, hope his son/grandson look after it.
